The Com-Pac SunCat 17-2 appears in nice condition for a vessel this age. You have a newer main sail. We're told by the owner it's a strong-running Tohatsu 6HP 4-stroke outboard that will get you around with ease. Twin 6-gallon portable fuel tanks will keep you on the water for days. The good condition Magic Tilt trailer will allow you to move her to your favorite sailing site with ease. Stock #297083 Com-Pac Yachts SunCat. Tohatsu 6 HP 4-stroke engine with a long shaft and prop designed for small sail boats. Check out this 2008 Com-Pac SunCat 17. A very nice little daysailer sailboat with a trailer. This boat is the perfect size for a day on the lake with your family. Has room for 4 adults in the cockpit. Sleeps 2 people in the cabin and has a porta-potty in the cabin. This boat is a very stable sailboat. The wide beam and shape of the hull make this one so stable. This is also easy for one person to sail. To set up after putting in the water only takes 15 minutes. The mast is already attached-all you do is pop it up and raise the sail. The boat features a 2008 Tohatsu 6 HP 4-stroke outboard tiller motor. The cabin has 2 ports and a porta-potty. Aft seating for 6. VHF marine radio and antenna. 12-volt battery. Cushions inside and cockpit cushions. Best of all, the SunCat sails really well. It is also very stable and moves easily into a choppy sea. The trailer is in good condition with a single axle and easy to trailer. Reason for selling is moving on to something else.

The boat was owned by a family member who passed away. It was winterized and sat covered under an awning for a few years. I took the boat out and gave it a pretty extensive cleaning and look over. I know nothing about the boat, but she cleaned up nicely. I placed new submersible trailer lights on the trailer (old ones were broken off), but I did it quickly as the house was being sold and I needed to get the boat to a dry storage at the marina. They will need to be put inside the frame of the trailer. I do not see any major damages, but I do not fully know what to look for. The only noticeable issues I see are a galley door that needs to be repainted, a hatch in the front that will need to be replaced (or patched), some paint/clear coat cracks around the motor mount, a possible patch spot (looks more like a paint scuff) on keel (its hard, not soft. I don't believe this to be an issue), trailer tire are cracked (will probably need replacement, but are holding air) and the boat will need someone who knows about sailing and a clever name. The trailer has a bit of rust, but it does its job well. It is fully funtional and I couldn't even tell I was carrying a load. The sails were looked at, there are 3 sails (possibly 4). All look to be in nice presentable condition. The boat looks very nice after being cleaned, some marks would not come off. The galley windows are fine, no cracks. The teak may need some sanding or refinishing. It isn't perfect, but I think she is ready for sailing very shortly. The titles for the boat and trailer are clean, no liens or issues. The boat is registered in PA and the trailer I had registered in VA to move it. What it comes with: 1. 1976 Newport 17' Sailboat 2. 1970 - 80's Sterling Boat Trailer 3. 3 Sails 4. 2 Mast pieces 5. 1 Stearns Life Jacket (Brand New with Tags) 6. 1 Humminbird Marine Radio (broken piece on antenna, but it works fine with some accessories (2 kinds of chargers with instruction book)) 7. 1 Rudder piece 8. 1 Mercury 4.5 hp outboard motor (1970's version, unknown if it runs, I pulled on the pull start and it spins and sounds like she wants to take off.) (Known for its reliability and cheap maintenace/parts as the "Iron Seahorse") 9. 1 Brand new gas can for the outboard 10. 1 brand new Pump and fuel supply line 11. 1 Chemical Toilet (no plumbing in the boat, don't know if its new, if you dont want it pitch it.) 12. A bag of navigational flags 13. 1 Brand new red light Compass by Ride 14. Other accessories (like boat fenders, winches (for sails) spare tire for trailer (needs replacement), etc.) Overall, I think this is a great boat for a lake or around close to shore of the ocean. She looks nice and I hope to sell her soon. She is sold "as is". I do not have a place to store or deal with any longer than I have too. Thanks for looking.
