This boat was obtained by a friend of mine through divorce proceedings. For the most part all of the gauges and parts are still with the boat. This boat has quite a history as it is the same boat that was in the move On Golden Pond. The boat is in restorable condition. However, at this price the boat could be used for parts. The trailer alone is worth over $1K. The trailer recently moved the boat over several hundred miles with no incident. Please let me know if you have any questions. The seller is motivated and is looking to move this boat.

Up for sale is an extremely solid 1947 Chris Craft Deluxe Runabout. This boat is very complete with everything there. There is also an abundance of NOS and new partsfor rebuilding the engine, the engine is currently stripped down. There is a small soft spot on the starboard rear (see photo). There was also a very correct repair in thesame area on the port side rear. This boat will qualify for the recently created "Survivor Class" according to the ACBS. In my personal opinion none of the topsides need replaced.I am a preservationist and always strive for as much originality as possible. The chrome is also in very, very good original condition. Should it be re-chromed??? Im not really sure if I would or not. This a very easy boat to restore because it is so solid. I am only selling because I don't see any light at theend of my restoration project tunnel. If you are a "first-timer" the ease and value is definetely there. It has been stored and owned by the same family for over 40+ years. The original trailer does come with it even though its not in the photos. But I would load the whole thing on a larger trailer, FYI. PLEASE DO NOT HIT THE "BUY IT NOW" OPTION WITHOUT CALLING FIRST! Any and all serious questions please call:330-328-3052Thank you,Dan

For your consideration for the next seven days is a 1947 Chris Craft Special Runabout. Hull # R -16 -796 . This boat has undergone a complete restoration over the past several years and has won Best In Show awards at both shows it attended. First, the hull: She has a new 5200 style bottom with the best quality Bruynzeel Okume marine plywood available for inner layer and clear white cedar outer planking. The bottom framing was replaced using white oak as was original. All fastenings are new USA made silicon bronze. There are approximately 12 coats of Epifanes varnish on the brightwork and 6 coats of Petit Easypoxy on sides and bottom. Now hardware:The hardware is all original to this boat and has been rechromed. All rubrails have all been straightened and polished. Fasteners are new, chromed brass, Frearson head screws on the chrome hardware and stainless Frearson, yes stainless Frearson ( I had them made) on the stainless rubrails, cutwater and flat trim. Engine: The engine is the original one to the boat. It's a Chris Craft Model K, 95 hp, 6 cylinder, based on the Hercules QXD series. It has been rebuilt with new piston rings, and rod and main bearings. All sizes are standard, meaning the crank didn't need to be ground and the cylinders didn't need to be bored. The original pistons were cleaned and reused. If it ain't broke..... Valves and seats were ground and reused. Valve guides were replaced. Carburetor was rebuilt too. No, this was not an all-inclusive $9k rebuild with new everything. There was no need for it. This engine runs great with great oil pressure and starts every time. And it's 6 volt! Upholstery:All new upholstery using top quality marine vinyl to correct factory dimensions. Original style Kapok filling in cushionsNew correct style linoleum flooring for originality. Electrical:All new cloth covered wire matched to the factory original colors and sizes. Original gauges all function properly as does the original horn. New bilge pump. It's 12 volt but will do fine on 6. Boat doesn't leak anyway. Generator charges as it should. Trailer:Also included with the boat is a 2013 aluminum Vantage trailer complete with all legal paperwork. If someone was to pay to have a similar boat restored, the cost would be at least double the asking price here today. Classic 1969 ChrisCraft 46 Steel hull Roamer. We’ll get to the specs and cold hard facts in aminute. When you purchase a classic like this, you are buying a piece ofhistory. I think it’s important to pass along the story and history of thisclassic boat. My love of the Ohio River and classic boats is mainly due tomy Grandfather. Before I could walk, I was on the river with him. Oh thestories and the memories ! Thankfully he is still with us and he has been mychief consultant for the restoration of this fine vessel (and he can stillout-work me most days). I’ve owned many boats over the years and was at a local boatyard looking at another boat when I spotted this one. It was love at firstsight. She looked like she had been sitting for a while and needed some work, but I couldn’t quit looking at her. Suddenly the run of the mill fiberglass, looks like every other boat on the water I came to see…….just didn’t matteranymore…….I had to have this classic vessel. Of course I called my Grandfatherand after a few words of description, he started chuckling and told me I hadbeen on this boat more than once when I was a child. The boat belonged to along-time friend of his, who like himself was still going strong and now intoflying planes! Did I mention he’s 91 ! He made a phone call, next thing I knowI’m talking to the boat’s owner……..and a deal was struck to purchase her. Thiswas about five years ago. She has always been in fresh water since new, most of thetime up and down the Ohio River, with a couple of extended trips on the MightyMississippi . What is truly amazing, she still has less than 1000 hours on herDetroit diesels. I can only relate this to finding a 1969 Corvette with 5000miles on the odometer! In more recent years she has been tied-up at dock andused as more of a weekend getaway or as my Grandfather would say…….” A placefor us old timers to sip Scotch and remember summers gone bye”. If you have ever bought a boat, without even having had itin the water or hearing the engines run……of course I was nervous. The chiefmechanic at the boatyard chuckled (he kind of sounded like my Grandfather) andsaid “ I’ve been taking care of this boat for over 20 years now……of course itwill run”. A few days later, after fluid and filter changes and freshbatteries…….the Detroit Diesels came to life! Since then, a-lot of work has went into this boat. Most ofit has been painting and refinishing. It’s still not quite where I would liketo have it, but it’s time for me to pass this classic on to her next owner. Inmy opinion, she is 80% done with about 20% left to go. I’ve had her in thewater and cruised her on the Ohio the last couple of years and It’s amazing thelooks, comments and reactions you get from people. The $500,000 Sea Ray may geta look or two, but people go crazy over seeing this classic on the water. Ihave a friend who has a 1947 Indian Chief motorcycle and he has pointed-outthat thanks to some recent TV shows, people have a new appreciation for Antiquesand classics. You just don’t see something like this everyday ! I am hoping to find someone who can truly appreciate this 45year old boat and has the vision to finish the remaining 20%. You will have avery unique piece of boating history. Just the name Chris Craft says this is not a run of the mill boat. Thefact that it’s 45 years old and still on the same water she has been on for allof these years sets it apart from everything else. They are not making boatslike this anymore. The Strong points:The Engines, transmissions, running gear and genset are all working and ingreat condition. I would take this boat anywhere. This boat has all of the modern amenities and more (Air conditioning, heat, pressure watersystem, genset, power-flush toilets, full galley with fridge, stove, oven, microwave, etc) Brand new exhaust tubes from the motors back 40' worth I also had the mufflers reworked at the same time. Thanks to her 8v71 Detroit diesels she is economic to run at slowerspeeds and yet has the power to get moving quickly if need be. The cruising speed is around 8-10 knots she will go much faster but why waste the views or the fuel. She is turn-key and ready to use and enjoy now. Yes, shestill needs some cosmetic work, but she is a fully functioning boat and in the water now. THE FUEL TANKS ARE FULL THATS 500 GALL WORTH OF FUEL !! she is called a 46' but she is much closer to 50' over all if not a little larger her beam is 15' she drafts right at about 4' and weighs in at around 55k pounds she turns 28" props on 1,1/2" shafts and when you pour the coals to her she will toss a wake like nothing I have ever seen.... see photos above as stated there is still work to be done but nothing that would stop you from using her right now. feel free to have a survey company come take a look at her but be advised we are in Cincinnati and have no guys here that are in to old motor yachts so you will have to pay someone to come in from Louisville this is up to you and at your cost . I would be willing to deliver this boat anyplace you like by water if you pay for the fuel and my time as well as one more crew member for the trip. please feel free to call me with any questions or to set up a time to see her in person ... and remember she is a 45 year old boat and not brand new so there will be issues here and there but your at a great starting point... boat will be sold 100% as is due to her age I want her to find a good home a loving home and if I don't think your up to it or have some crazy plan to chop her up and do something other then return her to her glory I WILL NOT SELL YOU MY BOAT .... "I can not tell you how much everyone's kind words about the boat have ment to me we had over 198 watchers in the last auction and 4k views so I'm going to relist her at the buy it now price with the best offer option I would love to find her a new home but that being said I can't sell her for what she did in the auction I believe my asking price is a great buy!! I can't replace it for this price but if it helps her find a forever home I will take a little less feel free to make offers all I can say is no ...thanks again for looking and all the kind words " Justin 513-722-6021
