1971 Uniflite 42 Double Cabin This is a VERY rare find.  This boat has been lovingly maintained for the last 20 years by 2 owners who have been in the boat industry and have both lived aboard and cruised extensively.  Very well maintained and loaded with modern equipment.  Whether you are planning a cruise to Alaska or want a boat with modern, well thought out equipment for living aboard, this boat is ready for you!  Built on the great design and solid construction of the early Uniflite 42 (NO BLISTERS) but with many updates that are typically found only on newer models. Major upgrades include a unique custom aft deck hardtop that was designed to be a load bearing sun deck without needing extra support posts.  Recent projects include new windows, new Ultraleather upholstery, newly revarnished interior woodwork, completely refurbished Nick Jackson davit, rebuilt anchor windlass and new Raymarine navigation electronics.  Hauled out and surveyed in 2016 with new bottom paint, new underwater lights, stuffing boxes rebuilt, new cutless bearings, new shaft couplers, trued shafts and rebuilt shaft logs. Live aboard amenities include both electric and forced air heat, dual shore power busses (50A and 30A that can both be used at the same time), sophisticated power management system, automatic water fill and dual vacu flush heads.

ESTATE SALE 1971 CHRIS CRAFT 42 COMMANDERAFT CABIN TWIN FORD 460 C.I. STRAIGHT DRIVE INBOARD ENGINES Classic 42’ Commander Aft Cabin with many expensive upgrades. This has been a local Lake St. Clair boat since new. Her most recent owner of 15 years spent much time and money on upgrades over the years. This boat is being offered for sale due to the owner’s passing. The previous owner re-powered this boat approximately 100 hours ago with big block 460 c.i. Ford V-8 motors coupled to new Z.F. Hurth transmissions. These motors are naturally aspirated and feature custom stainless steel exhaust, new shafts and 4 blade props. The owner easily spent what we are asking for the entire boat, just on the re-power alone. Other custom professionally crafted upgrades include:· Teak bow pulpit· Anchor Windlass· Stainless Steel railings to replace original life lines· Teak toe rails replaced· Radar Arch· Enlarged galley with full size fridge and built-in microwave· Aft Cabin queen size bed to replace twin beds The electronics on the boat are vintage. Radar, GPS, Depth Sounder, Trim Tabs, Spotlight and gauges are all in working order. VHF, Sniffer, Horns are not operable. The hull is in very good condition, very shiny, with no signs of major repairs or damage. The spray rail stainless cap has a few dings on either side towards the aft on both sides. The bottom is very good with no build up of bottom paint. It would appear that the bottom was stripped in recent years. The Canvas is in good condition and includes top, side curtains and straight back-drop as well as helm, Captain’s seat, aft deck seats and bow seat covers. Exterior seating all in good shape. The cabin headliner is good. Cabin soft goods are in need of replacement. Carpet, bedding, curtains are all dated. These upgrades would make the boat a star! Also, the forward V-berth cabin needs new wallpaper. The Two Marine Air/Heat units function properly. Onan 6.5KW Generator starts, but won’t stay running, needs tune-up. Hot water tank operation has not been tested. Two electric flush heads fore and aft. Owners Manuals present. SEE VIDEOS OF BOAT RUNNING ON LAKE ST. 1971 Tartan 34C The Tartan 34c is a true S&S designed classic. From 1967-78, 525 hulls were produced. In 1968 she won her class in the Southern Ocean Racing Circuit and then again in the Port Huron-Mackinac Race, followed by the Marblehead-Halifax Race. In fact, to this day they are still winning in club competitions all over. Besides Olin and Rod Stephens, the deck was developed by Gerhard Gilgenast, German Frers Jr. and Francis Kinney. Production came to an end when the factory burned down and molds were destroyed. This led to the newly organized Tartan Marine where production resumed. The 34c’s cruising prowess has been fully realized as the design has been sailed single-handed around the world - across the Pacific to Hawaii, around the Horn of South Africa - not to mention numerous other passages. Today she is considered to be a moderately heavy keel-centerboard sloop with graceful overhangs, wide side decks, a long 8' cockpit and moderate sail plan. Olin Stephens referred to her as a "masterpiece", as everything seems to work well. She sleeps up to six in a cabin trimmed in teak with 6' 2" headroom. The galley is starboard of the companionway with good storage and cooler accessible from the cockpit as well. There's a nav station to port forward of the quarterberth. The port settee will open to a double, and the starboard sette is a single with good storage above both. The table is custom made oak fixed in place and has leaves. She is very easy to single-hand as the jib sheet winches and mainsheet are positioned near the helm. Wings of the Morning, hull number 107, has been upgraded over the years and so shows like a much newer boat. The hull and decks have been painted with Awl-Grip. The interior has been rebuilt with planked ceilings and overhead. The galley has been completely rebuilt and upgraded with tile and custom cabinetry. The companionway ladder is custom built. There is new electrical wiring and panels and the rudder is new. She has a professionally rebuilt engine with new complete exhaust system, new engine fuel pump, carburetor, alternator and water pump. There is a new fuel tank and galvanic isolator. The bottom has been epoxy-coated. The mainsail has been overhauled. There is a Harken traveler and mainsheet system with 8 to 1 purchase. She has new electronics, a new swim ladder, a new Bomar hatch amidships, new safety lines, new Harken roller furling, and new halyards and sheets. The dual bilge pumps are new. The head compartment needs some work completed on the cabinetry and there is no fresh water system or tank. The exterior bright work will need attention. The bottom half of the centerboard is broken off - a new one is estimated at $1500 new from Tartan. Wings Of The Morning is here on the hard and ready to be seen today!
