I am the second owner. The boat spent most of its life in the Bahamas. The boat is in extremely nice condition and has an open check book maintenance program. The strong, hand laid hull is rated for 300 hp and can be powered with single or twin engines. Safe and secure is the feeling she conveys, no more plunging into the trough to spear the next wave. The full bow, along with the 3 piece construction, also provides this 23 with a great deal of interior space. A modified-V hull and low center of gravity combine for stability at rest. She feels like she is bobbing, not snap rolling. Go ahead and cut the power, youll be pleasantly surprised. Mid-range performance, from 20-36 mph is where she is in a class of her own. She is easily driven, and her well balanced hull allows her to plane at a dowdy 18-20 mph. When conditions are rough, maintaining a plane in the low 20s is great, and not possible on most outboard boats. Dont try and steer her, just let her dance her way through the sea naturally. In moderate to good conditions, she provides a soft ride in the low to mid 30s. At either speed, the fine entry is slicing through the steep stuff while the round bilges aft yield to the impact of the water. The console is just a tad forward to balance the boat and open up tremendous cockpit space. The console is well proportioned, providing cavernous space inside for a head, 3 batteries and a chest of drawers, while still being just the right height. Another 27 strength, in terms of practicality and usability, is the transom area. Second generation design includes a built in live well, transom door raised transom and bulkhead. Hopping up on the dock is a snap with our step up to the gunwale.Albury Brothers Boats are built to last, and provide solid confidence when the sea gets angry. The last thing any boat owner needs is a rattle-trap with lots of maintenance. Our boats are quite heavy in the bottom and get progressively lighter above the waterline, resulting in a craft of moderate weight for its size. The bottom laminate is over 1 thick, hand laid, solid glass. This heavy 24 oz. woven roving absorbs impact energy and creates the mass requited to punch through waves. The massive top-hat stringers are made of the same material, then fully glassed into the boat from stem to transom, chine to keel, and filled with foam. The hull sits in the mold at least 7 days, under vacuum, to ensure its shape.Above the waterline, a gradual shift in the lamination schedule takes place; from heavy woven rove to cross-linked PVC composite core and 17 oz. bi-axial glass. Strength is maintained while weight is reduced, resulting in a stable, well-balanced vessel, with a low center of gravity. At Albury Brothers, the liner is vacuumed to the hull and stringers to create a void-free, fully bonded structure. The deck and console are mechanically and chemically bonded to this structure. We attach the hard or T-top to our console, giving you more room with less to trip over. We also do our best to get rid of latches, hinges, screws, hooks, bungy cords, valves, etc. All of this fluff corrodes, deteriorates, loosens, breaks and requires maintenance.
