There are only 3 of these LARCS/Modified left in the world A LARC 60 LX (Light Amphibious Resupply Cargo) S/N: 54 4 wheel Drive, 1 engine per wheel (Total 4 Engines/Detroit Diesel/Only 50 miles on these engines), can use any engine by itself to drive it on land. Independent steering, front and back for "crabbing". Total weight empty: 100 Tons, It can carry 100 tons of supplies for a total wt of 200 Tons !!!! or 250 troop personnel or one Armored Tank !!! Length 63 feet long X 27 feet wide X 18 feet High Modified by the US Army from 1997-2000. The modifications were in the wheel wells, a new crew cabin on the starboard side, 4 new 480HP Detroit Diesel engines and substitution of the combining mechanical gearboxes between the two engines on each side for propeller drives, by Denison hydraulic pumps (8 pumps in total +2 hydraulic motors). A new 30CFM air compressor was installed on each side and two 300 gallon hydraulic tanks under the port and starboard aft engines. The wheels are driven by the 4 engines driving torque converters and 3 speed automatic transmissions. The LARC's were all sold by the ARMY in 2001, just 4 years after the 2.5 million Dollar conversion. For those not willing to spend between 10-12 Million USD for a new one, we have available for a fraction of the price, one of only three in the world US Army 1997 modernization prototypes which was completely rebuilt with new more powerful and reliable hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors for water propulsion with two 300 gal hydraulic fluid tanks, new more powerful Diesel engines, air intakes with hydraulic fans, new radiators, alternators, pneumatics, electronics and hull modifications for less drag at the wheels and extra starboard crew cabin. - All at a cost of 2.5 Million USD back in 1997! This LARC LX S/N: 54 has only 50 miles on land since those modifications. We have all books, shop manuals and maintenance records showing millions of Dollars spent in maintenance through its military service life. You can see it under power on our website and U-tube.
