The Cheoy Lee Shipyard is known for its exceptional yachts. The Luders 36 is a rare find and one of their better builds of the age. Ready to go and ideal for exploring Northwest waters or further. Economical 45 Volvo Penta 3 cylinder turbo charged diesel (1200 engine hours) easily driven to 6+ knots. Current owners have consistently maintained and improved Seafeather since 2003 and seek to pass stewardship of this seakindly vintage vessel to adventurous spirits who appreciate the romance and reality of wooden sailboats. Complete list of sails and equipment and additional photos available on request. $20000. John and Diane Sweetman email: [email removed] phone: 206-617-2217/2226 History: The L-36 was designed by Bill Lapworth in the 1950’s as a boat that could handle both bluewater racing/sailing and family cruising. This rare boat marks the end of the production wooden boat era. The last wooden hulls were built in the early 1960’s when the L-36 became the predecessor for the very successful Cal-40 series of racing/cruising sailboats. Seafeather is listed on the L-36 directory as hull number 27 (formerly Sealark) built in 1962 at Taylor Boatyard in Vancouver, BC, Canada although other records indicate that she was built at Chapman and Kalijean Boat Builders in Newport Beach, CA. Her records indicate that she won the Transpac race once and the Newport to Ensenada race twice.

Please contact owner Judith at 252-573-eight three eight one. Boat is located in Outer Banks, North Carolina. Saracen is a true bluewater, classic vessel. Her previous owners purchased her in San Fransisco and headed west with lots of adventures before arriving here on the Outer Banks. I was truly pleased to have acquired her. She was in need of significant work, so I rolled up my sleeves and started, as time would allow, as I work fulltime, out of the area. And then Sandy came along. The results were that Saracen's engine and foresail needed replacing. As much as I would really like to keep her, as a single individual, who doesn't really know how long my employment will last, I really need to be wiser. I know of an engine ready to ship and a good mechanic the damaged engine has already been removed, ready for a replacement. I have the insurance company's appraisal of 45,825, in below average condition. I'm asking 17,000 with a 5 commission to anyone who brings me an acceptable offer, that closes. I will be happy for anyone serious to see the appraisal. Saracen is on the hard in Wanchese, so inspecting her should not be a problem. Saracen has all the potential of being a real show stopper. Interior pictures to follow soon. Interior pictures were taken 111914, camera was not adjusted to current date. REMEMBER Contact info needed to respond to inquiries.

1988 Solaris 36 Sunrise Catamaran The Sunrise was designed by French performance designer Eric Larouge His various designs, such as the Azuli and Freydis, are known as performance bluewater cruisers. The Sunrise  have thousands of bluewater miles under their keels and supposedly, this boat has circumnavigated with a previous owner. She is solid glass below the waterline with foam cored topsides and balsa/foam cored decks. She is extremely strong and in very good condition. With ample bridgedeck clearance and with the curved underside of the bridgedeck pounding is a rarity.Forward and aft the weight is kept centered and pitching is minimized. Two large queen staterooms, a large settee and chart table, good sized galley and a large head with a shower make her a very comfortable liveaboard as well.
