They have more fiberglass, better fittings, stainless keel guards, etc. These "blue dot" hulls are gray instead of white.These Guardian 17 has been a favorite of Military and Marine Police for years, often seen with 50 cal machine gun mounts on the bow!This Whaler is referred to as the Montauk on steroids, designed for military action and capable of taking direct machine gun fire - and of-course, she cant sink.The Center Console is larger and beefier with heavy gauge rails and military grade aluminum sealed hatch.The Leaning Post is a heavy military grade aluminum not offered on standard Montauks.This particular Guardian was a local boat ordered new from Colley Marine in Virginia Beach by Dominion Virginia Power. They used her occasionally at a local power plant, keeping her inside a sheltered building on a trailer.
