1979 Carter Craft Safari 28 Sport Fisher, This 28 Safari is an amazing boat. It was built in the late 1970S by Carter Marine as this boat has cruised in Alaska and Baja California on multiple trips. (I have the original log books)It has a comfortable, roomy, open floor plan with galley, spacious table and separate head. Great for family outings and cruising. Plenty of room for family and friends. It also has a spacious cock pit and with ample room for fishermen and gear to fish (or crab) without getting in each others way. The previous owner was a salmon fisherman and spent many hours with friends pulling in fish. There is a new bimini cover and new cockpit cover custom made by the previous owner. This boat has a 165 gallon fuel tank for plenty of range with a 35 gallon holding tank and two 30 gallon water tanks. It has twin Volvo (Chevy) 350s (fresh water cooled 270hp each) for plenty of power. The boat was repowered with these engines in the 1990s and they have 900+ and 1100+ hours on them, One was used exclusively for trolling when fishing and shows the extra hours. It is not uncommon to see 2500-3000 hours on these engines with proper care and these engines have been cared for professionally for years. The engines are easy to access and service which saves in mechanic time and remote oil filters are so easy to get to that an oil change can be done while out to sea. The outdrives are Volvo Penta 280s with Dual prop set ups. Dual props maximize power while providing about 20% more efficiency than single props. The manifolds have been upgraded to all bronze and are much more durable than the ones commonly found on these engines. The carburetors are newer and the starters were replaced by the previous owner. It has hydraulic power steering, 3 heavy duty batteries for engines and electronics and two deep cycle golf cart batteries for the cabin. (This boat never runs out of battery power) all charged by 100 amp marine alternators. When tied up the batteries are kept up to charge with a 110 v battery charger when hooked to shore power. There is a custom marine AC-DC circuit breaker panel and battery switches to disconnect the batteries when away. An automatic bilge pump and manually switched bilge pump provide peace of mind. Electric windlass for the anchor, trim tabs, plenty of lights below, DVD player for evening entertainment, three burner stove, refrigerator, microwave, and new sound system give this boat all of the amenities. The hull is hand laid fiberglass and is extremely thick (12 hand laid layers at the keel and 8 hand laid layers on the balance of the hull). These hulls are comparable to a Tollycraft, another quality boat of that era. It was designed to be out in the open sea and is constructed to be able to handle whatever nature can throw at it. $13500.00

Google Turbocraft and learn about these first American Jet Boats. Real innovators for the time and very exclusive. John F. Kennedy owned one. Nikita Kruschev ordered one but may never have recieved it due to embargo. James Bond's girlfriend had a Turbocraft in the movies. Supposed to run in three inches of water but six is more realistic. Look for pictures on google of prototypes running the rapids of the Colorado River. Has a three stage Hamilton Pump which is a premium brand even on new Jet Boats. Powered by famous Intercepter marine power. Ideal restoration project but could be usable with much patina with relatively little financial investment. The transom is rock solid. The floors are not. Floor will need fiberglass repair or possibly replaced with wood. The stringers look good but probably need reinforcement around the motor mounts at least. All of the wood trim that touched the floor is bad also. The upholstery is brittle and cracked from age. The hull has a repair on the bottom about a foot in diameter--see pics. Apparently someone tried out the shallow water performance and failed. The repair looks adequate but amateur. Engine turns over by hand and looks super clean and low hours from looking in the oil fill hole in the rocker cover. The starter was bad but a rebuilt one is included not installed. The generator will probably need rebuilt or replaced. It is not currently installed. It appears to have been removed for access to the starter. It was a barn find for me years about eight years ago and it came home to my barn for another long slumber. The last sticker on the boat is 1993 I think but one for 1995 is in the dash. The jet drive had a crack when I bought it and that is why I think the previous owner parked it. I had the drive housing welded by a pro. See pic. I can text a closeup if needed. Also, I put new bearings in the front drive housing while it was out. Impellers and wear wings looked great. Drive is installed in boat but intake grate and driveshaft are not hooked up so you can turn the drive and inspect it thoroughly. The carbs are dual Carter sidedrafts and are in need of rebuild from sitting. Parts are available as they were also used on early Corvettes and the Corvair Turbo. The gas tank will be in need of cleaning or possible lining or replacement. The steering turns free. The throttle cable moves free but is unhooked at the carb linkage. The cable to the spotlight is stuck. The trailer will need new tires and bearings and lights. Ideally it would be hauled to its new home on a flatbed. I am capable of installing new parts for a fee if absolutely necessary. Boat is sold as is where is. I will answer questions to the best of my ability at 256-Eight Four Six-0831. Call or Text. You are bidding on a classic. It is not as easy to repair as your lawnmower. Don't bid unless you are prepared to deal with such challenges or have someone to do so for you.

But if you ever get the impression that we're a bunch of land-bound stoplight junkies, you'd be highly mistaken. The Queen City has quite a lot to offer when it comes to water sports. And when you get the opportunity to sport something as awesome as this 1964 Hallett Barron Drag Boat, there's no better place to be! Believed to have served only three owners, this highly original, built-to-order classic mixes 440 cubic inches of RB V8 with classy pearl paint, a gorgeous Hawaiian Monkey-Pod hull, vintage tuck-and-roll upholstery and an original custom trailer. If you're shopping for a bad to the bone investment that's fun to look at, a blast to drive and ready to turn heads as soon as it rolls out of the showroom: congratulations, you've found your next obsession! HISTORY "I had no knowledge of either Hallett sale. I would have never let that boat out of our shop, with that Monkey-Pod deck." Jerry Barron of Hallett Boats When the head of the company that created your boat is quoted as saying he would've kept the hull for himself, you know you have one awesome ride! This 1964 Hallett Barron is a built-to-order classic that was 1 of only 100 produced and is believed to be 1 of only 4 still in existence. According to the folks at Hallett Boats, the vessel stayed with its original owner until his passing, and was eventually reacquired from that owner's children. As mentioned, Hallett then flipped the boat to its second owner, a California man. Some years later, when that California man decided to list the craft on eBay, the current owner spotted the listing but decided against a purchase. Then, about six months after the listing had expired, a deal was struck and the boat took up residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. HULL Officially classified as an 18-foot Hallett Drag Boat that's built around a Barron flat-bottom hull, this awesome craft is an immaculate, highly original cruiser that's been lightly freshened as needed. Since 2006, the boat has been regularly stored in a private, climate-controlled garage and, judging by its stellar appearance, probably hasn't seen severe weather since its 1964 debut. An original, never restored hull is crafted from rare Hawaiian Monkey-Pod wood that's completely cold-molded in a sturdy fiberglass shell. That 'glass is dressed in snazzy Pearl White and Metal Flake Red aesthetics. And overall, the boat is so clean that it could've freshly breached a 51-year-old time capsule. Inside, simplicity is the name of the game. An original Mahogany dash anchors an original Jones Motrola tachometer and original Stewart Warner accessory gauges in the sheen of original varnish. Flawless tuck-and-roll upholstery perfectly matches the boat's stylish paint. A solid floor frames a small forward/neutral shifter, a vintage Hall-Craft throttle pedal and an inconspicuous kill switch. And the driver navigates water through a classy Teak steering wheel. ENGINE That mention of 'simplicity' brings to mind another buzzword: 'speed'. And, thanks to the boat's 440 cubic inch RB V8, its proud new owner will certainly enjoy both 'speed' and 'simplicity'! More popular than the famed Hemi, Chrysler's stalwart 440 was designed to be the automotive industry's best combination of comfort, reliability and big block performance. Oxygen whips from stylized California Custom Accessories air cleaners to big Carter carburetors, which ride on a coated Weiand intake. At the front of that intake, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor spins between a mild cam and thick MSD Super Conductor plug wires. At the sides of those wires, polished Mickey Thompson valve covers perfectly complement over the transom tail pipes and water-cooled Glenwood exhaust manifolds. And a high quality Casale V-drive, threaded through a chrome driveshaft safety ring, keeps everything in motion. Naturally, the Metal Flake monster sips fuel through braided fluid lines, which are piped to a duo of manually switched gas tanks. The aforementioned shifter controls an in-and-out transmission that's devoid of reverse. And polished Nicson covers, a reproduction MoPar battery and aircraft-quality steering cables complete the old school look. TRAILER A prestigious trophy just doesn't pop without a cool display. In the case of this memento, that display is a custom trailer that, as far as we can tell, appears to be original equipment. Predictably, the rig is covered in the same Pearl White paint that adorns the boat's hull. Everything rides on painted steel wheels, which lap a quartet of 6.50-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around dent-free trim rings and smooth center caps. And, as you might expect, the trailer has lived the majority of its life stored indoors. If you get the impression that we've grown particularly fond of this Hallett, you'd be exactly right! Rare and interesting classics ALWAYS get our blood flowing. And this stylish wave crusher, with its incredible performance, striking originality and precise craftsmanship, is dripping with the scarce qualities that literally define the term "unique". If you're looking for a fresh way to enjoy a little motorized speed, here's your chance to make some serious waves! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final.
