We have owned "Surprise" since 2011. We have campaigned the boat successfully on the Bohemia River and upper Chesapeake Bay. The swing keel draws only 4’ when up and 6’10” when the board is down, making it prefect for the upper Chesapeake. Last season she won the ERYC Bohemia Bay Wednesday Night Racing series and the Gene McCord Memorial Race. “Surprise” continues to be a fast and competitive racer. The 150 genoa is on its second season. Sail inventory includes a main, #1 genoa, 1 spinnaker, 1 asymmetric drifter, … In addition, she has proved a comfortable cruiser for those times when we weren't racing. This 1980 C&C 34 Sloop offers a great deal of comfortable cruising for a very reasonable price. She has beautiful lines and is a great all-round boat with a good turn of speed. She is roomy below decks with over 6 feet of headroom and accommodations for six. Side decks are large permitting easy movement around the boat, and forward is a large anchor locker. Her bottom was painted in spring of 2022. The boat is in very good shape with a large V-Berth, Convertible Settee that sleeps 2 and a Port Aft Bunk that sleeps 1. Galley has a 3-burner stove/oven, sink and top loading ice chest. A single head to port and large hanging locker before the V-Berth. She has a Yanmar 2QM20 20 HP Diesel, 2 - 12V batteries + Inverter, Keel stepped mast, Furling Jib, two Danforth Anchors + 50 feet chain and 200 foot of rope, Maroon Sail Cover that matches Bimini, Dodger and wench covers. All lines led into the cockpit, sailing instruments in cockpit, 3 bumpers, and 50-foot Shore power cable. She has a custom cover for the winter. The new owner gets all this plus the equipment and accessories listed below. The 34 is considered one of C&C's better designs, equipped for racing and cruising. Call for a showing today. We sailed this legendary blue water cruiser from St Croix to New York city in late spring 2020. We then began stripping her down for a refit. Now partners have moved away and the boat needs to change hands. The hull is amazing. One look and you know she will sail anywhere in the world, and quickly. The center cockpit design is wonderful to sail and the aft captains cabin and private head are a very welcome feature. She's been repowered with a rebuild Perkins 4-164 that runs like a tank, we averaged 0.78 gallons per hour on the last crossing. Comes with all standing and moving rigging, some is old and some is less old, but it's all there. Same with the sails. I believe we have 90% of the deck hardware as well. A couple of the stanchions need replacing and the traveler needs to be rebuilt. All winches are in tact and most recently rebuilt. We have stripped the bulkheads from the V-berth to the salon, as well as the chainplate stringers. New stringers have been begun but need to be finished. Needs forward bulkheads done, floor stringers and flooring, fuel and water tankage, and could use new electrical. We have three batteries aboard but our plan was to completely overhaul the electrical system so thats what we recommend. You can rebuild to the original floorplan or go custom for your intended use as was our plan. There is a 40-45 gal fuel tank in her now, originally she was set up for 117 gal fuel and 132 gal water. Decks have been sanded and patched, ready for paint. Portlights have been removed and we began cleaning and refitting them. They will need to be cleaned up and refit. The Port side caprail was removed and will need to be replaced. The boat comes with a lot of solid mahogany, marine ply, and MDO for rebuilding. This boat is PERFECT for you if: - You want a bulletproof and fast blue water, open ocean cruiser - You have more know-how than cash - You are comfortable fiberglassing We literally have most of the material on board for the rebuild. You will need tools and a place to keep her on the hard for a coupe months while you finish her up.

1978 CSY Walkover Center Cockpit The CSY 44 has become legendary among cruisers for their classic lines, well-constructed offshore capabilities, hull strength, great interior accommodations with plentiful ventilation along with sea kindly stable ride, complete with a clipper bow, galleon style transom, cutter rigged traditional design that will be sure to turn heads. CSY did not use wood lamination in its construction, a technique that is the curse of many boats of this vintage. The CSY hull is up to 1.5" of solid fiberglass reinforced plastic resin with 14 dual layers (one sheet of fiberglass mat and one sheet of fiberglass weave = one layer). The avoidance of wood cores extends to the deck, which is also solid fiberglass. The only wood used in the construction of these boats are heavy laminated structural stringers, bulkheads and interior furniture. This vessel has been well-maintained and has never been chartered. She has accommodations for seven in two staterooms and the salon, two heads with showers and well equipped galley.
