Classic 1969 ChrisCraft 46 Steel hull Roamer. We’ll get to the specs and cold hard facts in aminute. When you purchase a classic like this, you are buying a piece ofhistory. I think it’s important to pass along the story and history of thisclassic boat. My love of the Ohio River and classic boats is mainly due tomy Grandfather. Before I could walk, I was on the river with him. Oh thestories and the memories ! Thankfully he is still with us and he has been mychief consultant for the restoration of this fine vessel (and he can stillout-work me most days). I’ve owned many boats over the years and was at a local boatyard looking at another boat when I spotted this one. It was love at firstsight. She looked like she had been sitting for a while and needed some work, but I couldn’t quit looking at her. Suddenly the run of the mill fiberglass, looks like every other boat on the water I came to see…….just didn’t matteranymore…….I had to have this classic vessel. Of course I called my Grandfatherand after a few words of description, he started chuckling and told me I hadbeen on this boat more than once when I was a child. The boat belonged to along-time friend of his, who like himself was still going strong and now intoflying planes! Did I mention he’s 91 ! He made a phone call, next thing I knowI’m talking to the boat’s owner……..and a deal was struck to purchase her. Thiswas about five years ago. She has always been in fresh water since new, most of thetime up and down the Ohio River, with a couple of extended trips on the MightyMississippi . What is truly amazing, she still has less than 1000 hours on herDetroit diesels. I can only relate this to finding a 1969 Corvette with 5000miles on the odometer! In more recent years she has been tied-up at dock andused as more of a weekend getaway or as my Grandfather would say…….” A placefor us old timers to sip Scotch and remember summers gone bye”. If you have ever bought a boat, without even having had itin the water or hearing the engines run……of course I was nervous. The chiefmechanic at the boatyard chuckled (he kind of sounded like my Grandfather) andsaid “ I’ve been taking care of this boat for over 20 years now……of course itwill run”. A few days later, after fluid and filter changes and freshbatteries…….the Detroit Diesels came to life! Since then, a-lot of work has went into this boat. Most ofit has been painting and refinishing. It’s still not quite where I would liketo have it, but it’s time for me to pass this classic on to her next owner. Inmy opinion, she is 80% done with about 20% left to go. I’ve had her in thewater and cruised her on the Ohio the last couple of years and It’s amazing thelooks, comments and reactions you get from people. The $500,000 Sea Ray may geta look or two, but people go crazy over seeing this classic on the water. Ihave a friend who has a 1947 Indian Chief motorcycle and he has pointed-outthat thanks to some recent TV shows, people have a new appreciation for Antiquesand classics. You just don’t see something like this everyday ! I am hoping to find someone who can truly appreciate this 45year old boat and has the vision to finish the remaining 20%. You will have avery unique piece of boating history. Just the name Chris Craft says this is not a run of the mill boat. Thefact that it’s 45 years old and still on the same water she has been on for allof these years sets it apart from everything else. They are not making boatslike this anymore. The Strong points:The Engines, transmissions, running gear and genset are all working and ingreat condition. I would take this boat anywhere. This boat has all of the modern amenities and more (Air conditioning, heat, pressure watersystem, genset, power-flush toilets, full galley with fridge, stove, oven, microwave, etc) Brand new exhaust tubes from the motors back 40' worth I also had the mufflers reworked at the same time. Thanks to her 8v71 Detroit diesels she is economic to run at slowerspeeds and yet has the power to get moving quickly if need be. The cruising speed is around 8-10 knots she will go much faster but why waste the views or the fuel. She is turn-key and ready to use and enjoy now. Yes, shestill needs some cosmetic work, but she is a fully functioning boat and in the water now. THE FUEL TANKS ARE FULL THATS 500 GALL WORTH OF FUEL !! she is called a 46' but she is much closer to 50' over all if not a little larger her beam is 15' she drafts right at about 4' and weighs in at around 55k pounds she turns 28" props on 1,1/2" shafts and when you pour the coals to her she will toss a wake like nothing I have ever seen.... see photos above as stated there is still work to be done but nothing that would stop you from using her right now. feel free to have a survey company come take a look at her but be advised we are in Cincinnati and have no guys here that are in to old motor yachts so you will have to pay someone to come in from Louisville this is up to you and at your cost . I would be willing to deliver this boat anyplace you like by water if you pay for the fuel and my time as well as one more crew member for the trip. please feel free to call me with any questions or to set up a time to see her in person ... and remember she is a 45 year old boat and not brand new so there will be issues here and there but your at a great starting point... boat will be sold 100% as is due to her age I want her to find a good home a loving home and if I don't think your up to it or have some crazy plan to chop her up and do something other then return her to her glory I WILL NOT SELL YOU MY BOAT .... "I can not tell you how much everyone's kind words about the boat have ment to me we had over 198 watchers in the last auction and 4k views so I'm going to relist her at the buy it now price with the best offer option I would love to find her a new home but that being said I can't sell her for what she did in the auction I believe my asking price is a great buy!! I can't replace it for this price but if it helps her find a forever home I will take a little less feel free to make offers all I can say is no ...thanks again for looking and all the kind words " Justin 513-722-6021
