Engine (Model - B inline, flat head 4 cylinder) rebuilt (Grant Boat Works, Hartwell, GA) and runs like a sewing machine. He had a book that said only 154 of this set-up were ever made. All original including windshield. Needs someone that wants to do the cosmetic work to make it a real show boat. Or just putt around Lake Lanier. (Kids made me buy a ski boat. Wait! Kids for sale! We had made an error and the boat was listed as a 19 foot boat but it happens to be a 17 foot boat. We are not experts in Chris Crafts, we offer boats and all types of vehicles at substantial savings. Our end users are collectors and re-builders. Now if you have nothing good to say do not bother we will report you to, E Bay, either get ready to cut a check or go on your merry way. This boat is for serious buyers only who have money, save your offers of $1,000 dollars and the cute ones that send offers of $1.00, I find it amusing how bored some people can be. Lets not waste anyone's time. Sun King is perhaps the rarest & most unique Chris Craft in existence! OUR AUCTIONS ARE COMPLETELY TRANSPARENT BID WITH CONFIDENCE This boat is a 6 cylinder 17', not a 27' with a huge Chris Craft V-8 motor. Those V-8 engines had up to 350 HP. The 6 cyl here is about 90HP. 17' 1940 Chris Craft Custom Barrel Back -- $47,900 YOU TUBE VIDEO AVAILABLE One of the most desirable, collectible, and attractive models ever produced by Chris-Craft. We spent some time poking around the inside and found most of the structure in excellent (and clean) condition. Also a very strait and true boat, a great find. That being said, we will begin by documenting everything carefully with photos, and by taking a video of any repairs that need to be made. All the chrome and gauges have been done. Some of the best mahogany I’ve seen in awhile also came with the boat, some pieces four inches thick and twenty inches wide. Try finding that now days. The Fireball power is already done and was restored to original specs. A new custom tandem trailer is already on order as well. This is not a long term project and we are doubtful you can get a comparable boat for this price as they are selling for well over $99,000 dollars and some of the most expensive up to $159,000. This is a diamond in the ruff a money maker, do not over pay on other boats when you can purchase this one for penny's on the dollar. This is the boat of the summer a collectible, and a timeless piece you can pass on to your children. Its elegance and presence are unsurpassed as this was one of the finest boats built in its time. 2001 Chris-Craft 25 Launch Bow Rider 2001 CHRIS CRAFT 25 Launch Open Bow. If you had to name one pleasure-boat builder that embodies the history of modern recreational boating, it would be Chris-Craft, with roots reaching back into the 19th century. It is a highly recognized brand due to its high quality and boat building tradition. The hull's running surface was designed by Michael Peters Yacht Design, it has top performance and a luxurious ride to go along with its classic good looks. The lines of a Chris Craft doesn't just look lovely on and off the water, she looks like a magnificent piece of art for years to come. So this is a truly rare and nice bow rider, not to mention is very well equipped with a 5.7L Volvo-Penta GXI 320hp, Duo-Prop, cover, stereo, depth sounder, captains call exhaust, halon system, trim tabs, snap in carpet, bimini shade top, swim platform, and more. The boat’s also a passenger-pleaser, though, with dock-level boarding from atop lockers on each side of the cockpit and walk-though to the swim platform. A modern open-bow design, the Launch has curving forward side-decks that reflect the tumblehome in the aft deck sections. Combined with the boat’s deep topsides, it conjures up designs such as the “barrel-back” runabouts of the 1940s.   For all its backwards-looking appearance, the boat includes up-to-the-minute engineering and materials -- vinyl seats with flip-up bottoms for increased visibility, a perforated stainless-steel instrument panel with pressure-sensitive waterproof switches and a steering wheel that looks like brushed aluminum but is actually cool, comfortable  polypropylene.    The boat’s modern stern drive  power plant, a 350-cid 5.7 GXi, is linked to a Duo-Prop stern drive; the compact installation allows spacious L-shaped cockpit seating aft to port. Spacious storage areas, including a locker big enough for wakeboards and water skis in the aft port quarter and an in-floor locker big enough for a portable cooler, are other advantages of modern fiberglass construction. Small details, such as the burgee-staff forward, the teak-covered swim platform and fold-down armrests add to the boat's overall appeal. On the water, the boat has great acceleration, tight handling (the Duo-Prop helps) and more than respectable speeds. With a test crew of two, the through-transom exhaust option open and 80 gallons of fuel onboard, the Launch tops out at 53.6 mph on radar at 5,000 rpm. The boat still exceeds 50 mph with seven people aboard, with the exhaust routed through the hub. The Launch cruises nicely at just under 40 mph at 4,000 rpm, at 33.1 mph at 3,500 rpm and 28.3 mph at 3,000 rpm. Quiet at top speed (88 dbA at the helm and 93 dbA in the aft cockpit area), the boat is even quieter at 3,500-rpm cruising speed, with readings of 79 dbA at the helm and 94 dbA in the back seat.
