The local and visiting consultant was really impressed having the opportunity to see this listing in person. The interior, cushion, bench seats were in very nice condition free from any wear or tears. The exterior was shiny, there are areas that could use some TLC with finish. The bottom and seams would be do for caulking and sanding. Stock #247172 Rare classic Chris Craft Capri. Original Thunderbolt engine, Mahogany Wood. Looking for a piece of history, 1955 Chris-Craft Capri 21, which is the rarer version than the smaller option that Chris-Craft built. The vessel is powered by the original engine MBL Inboard that produces 158HP. Direct drive with shaft and bronze propeller. The seller has set the price point almost half of what similar vessels in this age and size have been sold for. The seller understands this vessel will need some TLC to bring back to full glory. The vessel is equipped with the soaker hose that allows for water to be run through-out the hull to allow the wood planks to swell to give the watertight seal. The forward sport light will need to be re-installed but is present and the original. The seller advised due to the prep with the hull and this boat not been in the water for a few seasons. Can not include a water trial as part of the inspection. Also the ignition switch was vandalized and removed, so unable to turn over the engine, please be aware when submitting your offer. Reason for selling is not using at this time.

1959 Chris - Craft Capri, Classic 59 Chris Craft Capri in excellent restored condition. For those who like speed, get ready to really fly in this garage-sized 18 ft. Chris Craft Capri with rebuilt original 185 h.p. Chris Craft Marine / Chevy Corvette 283 V8. The hour meter has less than 15 hours on it since the boat was restored 4 years ago. The original hour meter is on the boat and has only 112 lifetime hours after sitting in a boathouse in Tacoma, Washington since 1959. New 52100 bottom for wet/dry/trailer storage options and regular use, new upholstery, re-chromed hardware and restored gauges and waterline level cover. A new metal "flying saucer" stern pole is included, but not in the pictures. The Chris-Craft factory installed whale tale is unique to this model. Single axle trailer included; $42,500 serious inquiries only this is a beauty a show quality boat that can be used. 1957 Chris-Craft Capri,This is a solid vintage Chris Craft Runabout with no obvious evidence of serious deterioration or damage. Previous owners kept the boat in excellent condition and performed much of the work detailed below. With some work the boat can be made ready to use or its a great starting platform for a serious collector interested in a partial or total restoration project. Chris Craft Marine KL Series Engine runs well and transmission works properly. Have receipts showing rebuilt engine purchase (rebuild by LaPointes Classic Boat & Motor) and installation in 2001, carburetor rebuild in 2001, and transmission rebuild in 2002. Interior is in very good condition and obviously re-upholstered (date unknown). Minor re-wiring was performed to ensure navigation lights and bilge pump function correctly. I have always stored the boat covered. Custom fitted canvas cover with vent cap included. I have winterized every year (i.e. antifreeze flush, cooling jacket drain where possible, oil change, cylinder oil fog, and all openings sealed). Old canvas bottom liner removed and replaced in approximately 2005 with upgraded epoxy liner (have notes to this effect).Dilly trailer with new wheel bearings and buddy bearing caps (external grease application capable), completely re-wired with new LED lights. Rear guide posts added. New spare tire on a tongue mount included. D-ring tie-down points added with ratchet straps for tie down included.Hull and topside caulking has cracked out resulting in leakage. With new caulking (and other Buyer determined repairs) installed the boat could be ready to run. It appears that over the years various wiring changes have been made. The boat could stand to be re-wired. It appears as though the gauges are electrically functional though other switches on the dash are not (Buyer will need to make a determination). Currently has a 6-volt electrical system and original style generator.Have original purchase order and generic electrical wiring drawings from The Mariners Museum Library in Newport News, VA.Higher resolution photos and video showing engine and transmission operating are available on CD.
