Offered for your consideration is this 1980 18’ Chrysler Buccaneer sailboat. I have the Certificate of Title to the boat, issued in Pennsylvania 9/30/2009. Since that time it has been in the water exactly twice, both times at Marsh Creek Lake in Lionville (Exton) PA. The Hull Identification Number is CBC63159M80E. The boat has been sitting unused and stored outside for the past five years and deserves a new home. Needless to say, since the boat has been stored outside, she will need a thorough cleaning and detail. You’ll probably want to consider painting the hull. The mast, stays, and hardware are all intact. There is a very old fiberglass repair at the bow (see photo). I have at least one sail (no rips or tears but it is dirty) and a spinnaker. There may also be a jib around. The trailer shown in the photos IS included in this sale. I provided a photo to show what the Buccaneer can look like, cleaned up and under sail. The Buccaneer is a very popular boat and there are numerous websites and discussion forums available. The Buccaneer was designed for both pleasure and racing. The Buccaneer 18 Class is friendly and family oriented. This simple sloop is a blast to sail, and easy to maintain. KEY FEATURES · Great Class for Daysailing or competitive Racing · Fast Planing Hull Design · Sloop Rig, Roller Furling Jib · Integral Spinnaker Launch Tube Length Over All: 18' Length of Waterline: 16' 8" Beam 6' Draft (Board Down) 3' 10" Sail Area (Main and Jib) 175 sq. ft. Sail area (spinnaker) 178 sq. ft. Weight (Class Minimum Rigged Boat) 500 lbs Hull Material Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Spar Material Extruded Aluminum Crew Capacity 1-6 Designed in 1966 by Rod Macalpine-Downie and Dick Gibbs, the Buccaneer incorporates classic elements that have made this racing dinghy a consistent performer for more than 35 years. Due to its hull design, the Buccaneer planes in 8-10 knots of wind. An integrated spinnaker launch tube, roller furling jib, and well-constructed sailplan, 7'3" cockpit with non-skid seats, deck and floor make it a good two-handed racing dinghy. Well balanced and easily handled, the Buccaneer continues to appeal to both seasoned competitors and new sailors. Weighing 500 pounds, the Buccaneer requires a trailer and winch to be launched. A comfortable cockpit arrangement and simple rigging round out the Buccaneer's design, making it a good day sailor for the family. Features: It's a "sit in" rather than a "sit on" boat. The sloop design includes a spinnaker with launch tube. The waterline is as nearly symmetrically heeled as possible, eliminating much of the weather helm caused by heeling. The wide beam at the waterline plane eliminates the need for a trapeze. The boat's potential performance exceeds that of any non-trapeze design so that it is capable of handsomely rewarding the skills of the helmsman and crew.
