1981 Westsail 42 Center Cockpit Yawl Legendary and Affordable Blue Water Cruiser Be sure to watch the walkthough video above!   Westsail has a well deserved reputation for building tough, safe, go anywhere blue water cruisers.  Back when Westsail was producing boats, they offered the option of buying one unfinished.  Many owners during that time customized the layout themselves, and finished them on their own.   Centurion came out of the factory mold in 1977, and was finished out by her original owner and launched in 1981.   Centurion is a center cockpit yawl, with two staterooms and two heads. Her staysail yawl rig includes a yankee jib, self tending staysail and boom, mainsail, and mizzen.  This highly adaptable rig allows multiple sail configurations to match any condition.   The staysail yawl rig is classic, beautiful, and efficient.  William Crealock designed the Westsail 42 with one purpose in mind-  safe and comfortable long range cruising. 2005 Symbol C12 AMAZING GRACE is extremely user friendly with her three station controls (pilot house, flybridge, and cockpit) bow and stern thruster, wide safe full walk around decks, and robust stainless steel hardware. Her shoal draft will make for an excellent Bahamas cruiser. Prop pockets, four bladed Nibral wheels and the 705HP CATs will cruise very economically at 10 Knots, yet deliver 17-18 Knots at fast cruise. (2050 RPMS, WOT 2300 RPMS) The pilothouse layout is extremely user friendly as it provides excellent visability not only from the helm, but also from the large port side dining area and the large granite top galley to starboard. Two access points, (cockpit and pilot house) lead to the large flybridge which contains a (2) captains helm seats, ample guest seating, grill, sink, and has (2) Large 24vdc cold plate refrigeration chests to use as additional refrigerators or freezers or (1) of each. The 1000lb UMT davit and tender is launched from the flybridge which leaves great access to the walk through transom to the swim platform. The interior joiner work has many custom features that blend well with the large side windows and sliding cockpit door.

1981 Hans Christian Mark II NATIONAL STOCK #34653 Accommodations The interior decor is a combination of Burmese teak staving, white overhead and interior cabin sides, teak and holly. The standard island sink has been altered to allow more standing room in the galley area, while keeping the storage and counter space intact. The starboard settee has been built into an aft facing seat back to allow comfortable seating at the Nav-station, and a second fold-down seat has been built on the sink island. WALK THROUGH THE INTERIOR: Starting at the bow is a double divided anchor locker that holds chain on the starboard side and a chain rode combination on the port side. Moving aft there are two storage cabinets for general storage both port and starboard side with the head in the center. The head is covered by a teak and holly cover that lifts during use. There is a sink and vanity and teak door cabinets in the area aft of the head . THE MASTER BERTH area is located aft of the head on the port side. It is a classic Pullman berth and will sleep two persons with comfort. There is multiple storage under the berth with eight drawers, and additional space under the berth. A custom cabinet has been added beneath the berth with shelves for parts and various storage. Across from the berth is a large double hanging locker. The Pullman berth is located just forward of the center of gravity of the yacht and is less active in heavy weather than the traditional style V- berth. THE SALON AREA is classic Hans Christian. The port side settee is "L" shape with access and egress from both ends. THE GALLEY IS EXCEPTIONAL when compared to the standard MK II 38. The island sink area has been altered to allow easy lock in standing between the refrigeration box and the island. This island is fitted with a brushed stainless round sink, filtered water system, and hot and cold pressure water systems. There is excellent storage under the sink. THE AFT QUARTER BERTH is located to the starboard side. It is designed for a single storm berth. THE COCKPIT has had a custom made helm seat area that extends to each side of the cockpit with gracious curves. Opening door panels allow additional cockpit storage, and a adjustable helm seat with back and arms has been located on centerline at the top of this custom cabinet. If the helm seat is removed from the adjustable slides, there is access to the emergency tiller fitting via a screw plate. Over all a great find for someone looking for a special Blue Water Boat!!! Long bowsprit, full keel, high gunnels, deep cockpit with dodger and Bimini Vessel needs attention to the teak decks, and interior .

Beautiful, generously equipped and meticulously cared for freshwater J46 owned by senior couple. Used only for day sailing and minimal light cruising in northern Lake Michigan, Lake Huron and Lake Charlevoix for only 12 four month seasons (was not launched in 2012 and 2013). Always kept in inside heated storage when not in the water for the four month summer season. It is in pristine condition. J/46 may be the only investment grade sailing yacht of its size not requiring professional crew to sail at designed performance levels…..or to maintain. Two people can easily manage her upwind and down to achieve the same 8 knot passage-making speeds under sail that is possible when motoring with 76hp diesel auxiliary. The joy of sailing the perfect boat is, after all, a goal we believe every owner ultimately seeks. To insure that good sailing days are spent sailing rather than scrubbing and varnishing, J/46 is designed to be virtually maintenance-free. Her exquisite joinerwork is protected from the sun……below decks where it’s beauty can be preserved More photos available in this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QEllizB6x4FKTe3kGwlbjYaLgJMrQEg8x6PdVtIa14Y/pub Factory Options: Refrigeration Package: -Seafrost Mechanical Refrigeration.-Additional Plates & controls for Freezer.-Supplementary 110VAC Shore power Assist. Helped by new materials and techniques, they evolve from the joint experiences of designer, builder and owners to become state-of-the-art. J/46 is such a vessel, inheriting the proven hull shape of the J/44, an offshore blue water classic, having won the Fastnet, Sydney-Hobart, NYYC Queen’s Cup and Trans-Atlantic races. J/44 is the only Class of yacht ever to be given its own class start by the Cruising Club of America in the Newport-Bermuda Race. To create the J/46, a foot of sailing length is added for speed; a transom swim/boarding platform for convenience; a carbon fiber mast and low VCG 6.2’ shoal draft keel for more stability; and a resin-infused, composite hull and deck for greater strength. Below decks, the choice was clear, use the same beautifully varnished cherry or teak joiner work, entertainment center and styling so highly acclaimed in our deluxe J/160. J/46 is a maxi-Ditch yacht, the tallest yacht that can fit under the bridges of the Intra-Coastal WWaterway. Yet she is non-intimidating. A high length-to-beam ratio on the waterline of this sea-kindly yacht significantly improves tracking offshore in large waves and makes sail plan balance less critical. J/46 sails with either main or jib only, always responding predictably to a light touch on the helm. Sail power with good stability allows cruising with working jib rather than large genoa. That’s less work for the crew and improved visibility for the person on the helm. J Boats’ unique spinnaker system makes downwind sailing possible for two. A modern asymmetric spinnaker attaches to the top of the anchor roller, is contained within a cockpit-controlled snuffer, and is stored, ready-to-use, in the bow locker. The spinnaker is hoisted to the masthead, 2’ above the headstay intersect, leaving space for the snuffer to shift on a jibe. Jibing is then easy. One simply lets off one spinnaker sheet and pulls in the other.
