It was my first sailboat after owning powerboat most of my life. I like to restore things so we did an extensive refit with many upgrades, some of which are listed below. I also have all the documentation, manuals and full descriptions of exactly what was dome to the boat during the refit. 29 feet/10 foot beam, Universal M-18 Diesel (700 hrs estimated), Harken furling, electric head and holding tank, dripless shaft seal with new shaft & prop. All new teak wood inside, new companionway (Lexan), perch seats, new Sunbrella cushions, new dodger and sail covers, new stove, pressure water, new aluminum water tank, new port lights (lexan) Sobstad main,150% Genoa (good condition) new main and jib halyards, all interior coverings are new. AGM batteries, all new LED interior lights. This boat is completely refurbished and ready to sail. The boat is presently on the hard at still winterized at my local yacht club and was last used in the fall of 2014. It is seaworthy and is open for inspection. The hull is in good shape without blistering. The gelcoat is shiny and the deck has been refinished (see pictures). I also have an extensive overhaul picture library for anyone interested. The deck is sound with no soft spots although it is 40 years old and there is some dampness in the cored deck as well as the rudder but nothing that will prevent this boat from safe operation. Sails are original but in excellent shape and have been cared for by a local sailmaker.I'm interested in serious buyers only and the boat is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.Thanks for looking! the boat is a great sparkman and stevens design columbia 29 sailboat.. the boat is basic and can use some fixing up but sails great..has depth finder..vhf radio..new compass..stereo system..just sailed the chesapeake..motor bracket but no motor.. main sail 2 jibs assymetrical spinnaker (no spinnaker pole..does not use one) bimini uniden vhf depth finder new danforth compass portapotty boat is located at crown pointe marina in hayes virginia.. 1977 Columbia 8.7 (29') Diesel Lazy Jacks JUST REDUCED !!!!! Alan Payne designed 1977 Columbia Sailboat 8.7 (29') wine glass transom in ready to sail condition. Most sailors when they get a new to them sailboat they make it look pretty, not this owner. He wanted a sailboat that could sail right away. This Columbia has a new transmission, new motor mounts, main sail resewn where needed, brand new Lazy Jacks, all standing rigging replaced that was needed, one year old bottom paint, one year old deck painted, fuel tank removed cleaned and reinstalled professionally, new batteries, new seals on port holes and more. Antique Columbia River One Design wood sailboat with aluminum triple axle trailer. Good bottom with centerboard needs wood work on top, sides etc as shown. Good Sika mast with sails. Has original working 1936 Universal 4 cylinder engine and a diesel stove , head and sink. Trailer needs brake work, lights and alignment of front axle. This is hull number 3 as shown on the internet. Hull 2 is in the Columbia River museum in the state of Washington.
