1968 Columbia 36 Regardless of age you won't find a better equipped or better maintained cruising boat in this size range than Drifter. Drifter is one of the great sailing yachts fully outfitted and rigged for cruising. A new survey backed by receipts and logs shows a cruising boat fully equipped and maintained to the highest standards. Standing rigging has been replaced. Engine has been replaced. Watermaker refurbished just last year puts out an amazing 48 gallons per hour! 950 watts of solar power! Wind generator. 6 Trojan 6 volt batteries in house bank. AIS receiver and transponder and much more. The whole boat was re-wired in 2001.   Don't let the age fool you. This boat isn't old. And it was built in the fast, safe sailing tradition of Columbia Yachts. This boat will be cruising long after you're gone.   Drifter is in Puerto Rico, already in the best cruising ground in the world. No sales tax is due. Flying in to Puerto Rico is easy and inexpensive. Once you're there provisioning is easy with no customs to deal with, shopping at stores like WalMart, Costco, West Marine. Sailing to anywhere in the Caribbean or even back to the US is a piece of cake.

1966 Columbia Custom 50 This is a favorite of the owner, but sadly, he is getting too old to enjoy her as in years gone by. This boat was made before manufacturers figured out that the hulls didn't need to be so stout and heavy duty. In an effort to engineer lower costs and higher margins, they started making sailboats much thinner and lighter, so this is the last of the breed of sailboats that are made like a tank. Consequently, she is both safer in blue water and she cuts through the waves, rather than being bounced around like newer boats. Bring a reasonable offer and let's see what kind of deal we can help you put together. Contact the listing broker to see this lovely pedigreed cruiser.
