This is a 1981 Malibu SFT 10 Bobber. This boat was manufactured by Dixie Fiberglass Products out of Winter Garden, FL. These are the same guys that made the Sling Shots. You won't find any of these anymore as they went out of business when their plant burned down. Here is a link to the manufacturer. I have title to this boat. If I had to describe the boat it would be like a miniature Carolina Skiff style. If you are looking for a fishing boat or a jon boat that doesn't take up much room in the yard and is easy to launch and dock this is your boat. Will get into any place you need to get to fish and guaranteed no leaks like most of the aluminum boats. I would suggest getting a bimini top which would be easy to install. http://boat-manufacturers.findthebest.com/l/2656/Dixie-Fiberglass-Prod Here is a link to the NADA: http://www.nadaguides.com/Boats/1984/Sling-Shot-Dixie-Fiberglass/SFT-10-BOBBER/10167664/Values I had purchased this boat with the intentions of using it at my river property as it was manageable to carry and stow in the bed of my truck. I decided to go aluminum as I have a lot of cypress knees and such and wanted to just drag my fishing boat into the river. Considering the rarity of this boat I decided to bring it back to life. I used Kleen Strip Fiberglass Paint Stripper and tediously removed the old flaking and cracking layers of interior paint. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/140736099792?lpid=82 As you can see the stuff isn't cheap and it is a very slow process that I invested a lot of time into. After stripping I then sanded and sanded and sanded. After all that sanding I put 2-3 coats of Rustoleum Top Side Primer: http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-207014-Marine-Fiberglass-1-Quart/dp/B000C025GA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404676388&sr=8-1&keywords=rustoleum+topside+primer Each coat was applied different days and allowed to dry completely. I then used Rustoleum Topside Paint (Gloss White) and did the same 2-3 coats. I have a bit left over for touch ups if needed. I didn't do much to the sides as I wanted to keep them original but I did sand the bottom and put 4-5 coats of Bullseye on. As for the Trailer it came with the aluminum boat I purchased. It was home made by a professional welder and includes real size tires, designed tilt action to allow for draining water and launching. Came with a heavy duty axle and new bearings. I did put quite a few coats of rustoleum primer on the frame and then put some rustoleum aluminum color paint with real metal flakes in it. The guy had given me a heavy duty winch set up that wasn't installed. I stripped it down completely and sanded then primered then painted a black gloss which matches a few other pieces and then installed with new bolts ect. I also stained the wooden bunks and put new carpet on them. I purchased a new magnetic tail light system which is still in the packaging. This trailer will need to be registered as a home made trailer which is super easy. As for the motor, it is a 2000 Mercury 2.5 hp 2 Stroke Made in Japan. This is a sweet motor and I just cleaned the carb and installed a new plug so it is ready to go. A small tank of fuel goes a long way with this motor. Comes with original Operation and Maintenance Manual. This motor is simple and not fancy but very reliable. I am posting plenty of pictures to look at and there will be a link to youtube to see the motor in action. The price is firm. I would be willing to sell the boat and trailer only and keep my engine. http://youtu.be/kCeOD60MC7I This is the Youtube link above. Unfortunately a lot of the photos I couldn't post because they were over 4 mb. This ad is also on with 24 pics.
