2006 Fountain 38 Tournament Edition The 38 CC provides a few nifty features you won't find on many other competitive boats. Check out the coaming bolsters, for example. Not only do they ring the fish-fighting arena, there's also one running across the helm. Of course, slower boats don't need this. But when you wedge yourself in between the console and leaning post for high-speed dashes to offshore fishing grounds, your knees will appreciate the extra protection. And when you reach your destination, you'll love that the 38 CC has rodholders galore. The gunwales have three in each side, and the T-top rocket launchers number nine. The two on the outside are angled out to the sides, so you can run lines directly from them without increasing your chances of tangling. Another touch die-hard anglers will appreciate: Unlike many go-fast fishboats, the 38 CC has a capable anchor locker. The built-in rack holds a large Danforth securely in place, the hatch is wide enough to provide easy access, and there's room for hundreds of feet of rode. All three bow cleats are lift-ups, so they're out of the way when you don't need them. Whether you're chasing schools of bunker with a cast net or anchoring up to chum live ballyhoo, the arrangement is perfect. Not only does it run faster than the vast majority of its competitors, it does it while burning less fuel. Love the helm coaming bolsters. Love the T-top rocket launchers.  Standard Equipment (mjr. items): Hydraulic steering; raw-water washdown; T-top w/spreader lights and electronics box; gunwale and T-top rodholders; under-gunwale gaff/mop/rodracks; circulating livewell; hydraulic trim tabs w/indicators; 3 batteries w/parallel and switches; 25-qt. forward console cooler; 4 integrated fishboxes; locking rodbox; glovebox; locking electronics flat cover.   rpm knots mph gph naut. mpg stat. mpg n. mi. range s. mi. range run angle sound level1000 5.6 6.5 2.6 2.2 2.5 677 779 0 621500 7.3 8.4 5.4 1.4 1.6 421 484 1 642000 9.2 10.6 9.0 1.0 1.2 319 367 2 662500 17.4 20.0 13.2 1.3 1.5 410 472 2 683000 24.0 27.6 15.6 1.5 1.8 479 551 1 713500 30.7 35.3 20.1 1.5 1.8 475 547 1 784000 36.8 42.4 25.8 1.4 1.6 445 512 1 824500 42.7 49.1 33.6 1.3 1.5 395 455 0 865000 48.5 55.8 46.2 1.0 1.2 327 376 0 925500 54.1 62.3 54.0 1.0 1.2 312 359 0 966000 58.8 67.7 73.2 0.8 0.9 250 288 0 1026300 63.0 72.5 86.4 0.7 0.8 227 261 0 104 LOA: 37'11"Beam: 10'6"Draft (max.): 2'5"Displacement (lbs., approx.; w/o power): 10,600Transom deadrise: 22 1/2°Bridge clearance: 8'0"Max. cabin headroom: 6'2"Fuel capacity (gal.): 346Water capacity (gal.): 30Standard power: Triple 275-hp Verado outboards

I've lived on her last five years dockside, underway, on the hard, at anchor and sailing cruising often solo across 20,000 miles of ocean from Seattle down West Coast thru Hawaii into South Pacific & back to Hawaii. I had a two phase plan to refit, fix her up allowing me to enjoy cruising the Pacific Ocean and isles. I completed phase one but developed a condition two years past that now forces me to sell. An alternative to paying $150,000 for a similar in excellent condition or $80,000 with a running old engine worn and soon to fail or mandates a rebuild. Is to buy cheap get a great hull, good rigging & sail gear, anchoring system, versatile spacious interior to be used as is & continue remodeling or redo to your own liking while enjoying life aboard and/or sailing. Or an alternative housing scenario. That alternative is this. The 2010 survey put the boat at a $400,000 replacement cost, a $115,000 - $140,000 refit complete value and $85,000 market value. The prior owner needed a survey for bank loan and insurance. 2010 survey available upon request plus 2012 addendum.

The survey on this Vessel was $12000. I have added: 2 chart plotters, a new compass, Radar, a second depth finder, 3 bank Charging system, an AC system, Hailer, Auto fog horn system, Wind gauge, Roller furling. new Jib, and TV and TV accessories. The new additions are well over $6000 I am using Navionic chips which covers all the Great Lakes and the North channel. I taught Navigation at School Craft College for many years. I feel this is the best chart system on the market as I have the capability of setting up a safe water mark on the chart. So all water 6 feet and deeper is colored white and water shallower is blue. Boat and stand are on Drummond Island. It is buyer's responsibility to pick up here. This boat has 2 chart plotters. If you want a lower price, I am willing to sell it with one chart plotter minus the radar. this price can be negotiated.

GREAT BOAT! New York City area, USA Completely upgraded – A labor of love! Well-maintained sailed all over Long Island Sound. She has brought us many hours of enjoyment but it's time for us to upgrade to a bigger boat and that bigger boat has come along! Successor to the Dufour 27 in 1978, the 2800 was the second most popular Dufour of all time, with 1,300 being built over a 6 year period. With crisp-looking sails and her running rigging replaced in 2012. For her size she is a fast and capable family cruiser, with excellent accommodation to match her spritely performance. A popular family cruising yacht with good sized cockpit and fin keel. Spacious accommodations powered by a rebuilt Volvo MD7B on shaft with two blade prop. She has 4 berths, 2 in the forward cabin; just aft of this is the full width heads with wash basin, and marine head, through the second cabin door is the spacious, comfortable saloon where the table folds leaving a floor area more akin to a 33/35 footer. Plenty of storage space and a large cockpit locker & tiller steering. She has a great inventory of modern navigational and safety equipment, furling headsail and a large well-sheltered cockpit with dodger. This makes her suitable for short handed, safe, long distance cruising. She has a new 110v 600BTUA//C She received a complete rewiring in 2014. She is well rigged and ready for sea! This 2007 Maxum Marine 2100SC3 is a well maintained cuddy cruiser. The boat has 255 hours on it and comes with a Load Rite trailer. Trailer is in good condition and comes with a new spare. This boat comes from factory well equipped but many additional options have been added to this boat. * Standard Horizon GX1500S VHF mounted radio with stainless retractable antenna and NMEA and DSC. * Upgraded JBL Marine MR18 radio/cd with Sirius ready capabilities and MP3 jack and floating remote control. * Lenco trim tabs with drivers side mounted controls. * Guest dual 10amp charger with dual switch. * Cockpit boat cover with ventilation. * Snap-in carpet. * Fortress front anchor with 200ft of line. * Danforth type rear anchor with 50ft of line. * Rear top mounted engine flush in case boat mounted on lift. * Rear light pole for night cruising. * 4 bumper guards. * 4 life jackets and 1 throw life saver, * fire extinguisher. * Emergency Medical kit. * New batteries The 2100 SC3 comes equipped with a standard 220 hp MPI 4.3l Alpha I engine that provides enough speed for you to enjoy a fast ride and for the practice of water sports. Exterior Maxum 2100 SC3 The shape of the hull and the abundant use of stainless steel give the 2100 SC3 a graceful look. Access to the platform is via a starboard-side walkthrough that can be closed off with a folding gate. The gate also hinges down to form a mini gangway for boarding. Interior The 2100 SC3 interior design is a little different from the other Maxum boats because of the roomy aisle, the L-shaped seating and the wet bar. At the helm you can find boasting suspension systems and flip-up bolsters, a tilt wheel, bi-level footrest and direct-reading Danforth compass. The captain chair is adjustable to increase the comfort of the driver. The instruments, toggle switches and helm panel feature a brushed aluminum theme, and everything is within plain view including the AM/FM/CD unit equipped with an MP3 input jack and is Sirius satellite ready. Maxum 2100 SC3 Test drive The 2100 SC3 handles well and can reach a top speed of 50 mph. The ride is dry, in curves even at high speeds the boat is stable and the water doesn’t get onboard. Conclusion The Maxum 2100 SC3 is made for the adrenaline junkies that enjoy cruising around on the water longer. And when is time for a break this boat offers a cuddy cabin. She won in the end, and we are now raising our new child high in the mountains of the Philippines. And thus, this very special boat is now desperately in search of a new caretaker. Here is your chance to own one of the best classic yacht sailboats ever built. Designed by the famous Phillip Rhodes and built by Cheoy Lee to Loyd's of London standards. Tai-Pan has recently undergone many years and dollars in restoration and improvements preparing her to be the ideal live aboard, local cruiser, or global circumnavigator. To sweeten this deal, many extras have been added since its last posting, including, but not limited to a 2 hp Honda outboard motor, an 8' Walker Bay dinghy, a Bombard 7' inflatable dinghy, a Seldon 19' extendable whisker pole for wing-on-wing downwind sailing with two jibs, a 650 watt Honda generator, a new handheld VHF radio.Tai-Pan is rigged and ready to sail off into the horizon today. Tai-Pan has new bottom paint, new boot stripe, new buffed & waxed hull. New exterior bright work with long lasting Cetol. New caulking on teak deck. Recent cockpit exterior paint. Recent complete interior paint and bright work. Tai-Pan is now turn key ready for circumnavigating the globe or just enjoying the beautiful NW. All mechanics, electronics, plumbing, motors, sails, rigging, ground tackle, etc. are in fine working condition. New drive axle packing also.Tai-Pan's list of improvements is long. Read them carefully. If you have any questions or would like to view many more photos and videos of Tai-Pan, please contact me through ebay or phone (360-510-8000).This auction is for serious buyers only. New glow plug for quick starts in cold weather added.Installed air vacuum pump for engine compartment, with switch in sail locker starboard side.Rudder shaft stuffing box freshly repacked.Tai-Pan has a 12" brass prop, which may appear too small for a boat this size, but It pushes Tai-Pan 5.5-6 knots and interferes very little while sailing. Charging SystemsIn 2004 Tai-Pan's electrical charging system was recently rewired by Rasmussen Marine Electric. Inc. for AC and DC charging. This involved installing new Phase Three model PT-14 3 stage smart charger, two battery banks (house and starter), New breaker switch for windlass, charging solinoid, volt and temp guages in cockpit, FWD bilge pump, new ground bar and wiring, with new electric switches charging, outlets, and heating. (Total cost $3,268.24),I later added a third house battery bank and three solar panels (18 w, 23 w, & 48 w) hooked separately to each battery bank w separate battery controllers. Deck:Tai-Pan has a cosmetic teak deck overlaying a solid wood deck, which is covered on both sides with fiberglas. The teak deck is tough as nails and as long as she is well caulked with Boat Life Teak Deck Sealant, her deck should stay high and dry many years to come.Recently added another scupper on both port and starboard side, to aid water drainage. Entire deck appears hard and firm, with no signs of damage to underlayment. Sails: Tai-Pan is a simple mast head sloop with a Hood twin grooved jib roller furling system? The only sails Tai-Pan really needs to go sailing are her main sail, her furling jib. However, because my plans were to circumnavigate on Tai-Pan, I have added much to her sail inventory and her rigging. Her sail inventory now consists of:Two main sails, Two Furling Genoas approximately 150% (One low cut light, and one high cut heavier sail. One Storm sail hanks onto an inner forestay with two running back stays during extreme weather conditions. One Trysail that fits on separate mast track for extreme stormy weather. One large Melges asymmetrical sail with spinnaker sock that fits on removable bow sprit. One small drifter sail (multicolored) that attaches to bow spritOne inner forestay sail w 28' of leach for cruising. One 100% yankee hank on jib sail that fits new solent stay that has not yet been installed, but has all the attachments to do so. Spars: In 2008, I removed the Sitca Spruce mast, rebonded open joints with epoxy, repainted mast, replaced old brass masthead wire sheaves with custom built Acetal (also known as Delrin) sheaves to accommodate two new main and jib halyards of VPC New England rope, which are polyester braid cover with a core of blended Vectran and MFP (polypropylene). I also replaced three old wire rope winches on mast with Barient 22's and one Barient 21. I left on wire mast up haul intact. I also installed one new spinnaker halyard and inner stay halyard of same VPC material. of same material.Tai-Pan still contains her original Sitca spruce furling boom, which would be handy for shortening sail or raising boom to accompany a high bimini.Original Sitca spruce spinnaker pole. Removable Bow Sprit added for flying Asymetrical or Code Zero sails off spinnaker halyard. Two extendable 19' whisker poles for downwind sailing wing-on-wing with two jibs, either both attached to the twin grooved Hood furler, or attached to the new Solent stay, which has yet to be installed. One white 4"x19' extending aluminum whisker pole stored on starboard deck, and one Seldon Sweden built aluminum whisker pole. One Heavy duty spinaker pole track attached to the mast, with pin-style toggle car to fit whisker poleOne aluminum extendable Forespar light air whisker pole 2" x 16.5' that I use for loading dinghy onto foredeck. Rigging: Winches: Two Barient 28 winches, Four Barient 22 winches, Two Barient 22 and one Barient 21 halyard winches on Mast, SS Steering wheel Furler: Hood furling system with twin grooved jib furler for flying double head sails. This twin grooved type of furler also allows sailing with the jib reefed to any position.Shrouds: 5/16" 1/19 SS with 5/8" eyes and six new Sta-lok terminals on bottom endsRecently added inner forestay with two running back stays for storm jib or any other inner foresailCustom Built Heavy Duty SS Mast Stepback stay with insulator for SS Radio antenna, one separate tri-sail track installed on mast, with tri-sailone removable bow sprit for flying asymetrical sail with sockTai-Pan's original chainplates had all been replaced prior to my ownership of Tai-Pan. After purchasing Tai-Pan, I removed and inspected one chainplate found no signs of wear or deterioration. I am now confident that all the chainplates are in similar fine condition.Tai-pan's extras contain one extra new forestay with toggles and mast-hound ready to install as a Solent stay, if new owner ever desires. A full set of mast steps are also included with Tai-Pan, if new owner desires these steps to go to top of mast. All bulkheads appear in fine condition.Original deck winches include two Barient 28's and four Barient 22's.All SS swaged 5/16" shroud terminals ends were removed in 2009 and replaced with new Sta-Lok Long eyes to fit 5/16" wire with 5/8" pins.
