We purchased this beautiful 1984 DeFever trawler in April 2012 from her previous owners who were cruising her in the Bahamas, and had been yearly for the past ten years. Although I had sailing experience, neither my wife or I had experience with power boating. However, we spent the next several weeks bringing her up the ICW to her new home in Virginia. During the summer we had a new Genset installed, moved the fuel filters for easier access, added a battery watering system, added a new dinghy and davit system, replaced her saloon counter tops, and learned as much as we could about her. In December my wife and I took her back down the ICW; crossing Florida thru Lake Okeechobee, its waterway and locks; and then finally resting in Ft. Myers Beach for a couple of relaxing weeks with friends. We continued down Florida's Gulf of Mexico coastline to the Keys, stopping and spending the winter on a mooring in Marathon, Fl. In April 2013, we left the Keys and brought her up the ICW again to Chesapeake, Virginia - which is where she is located now. Adagio is a 1984 Naiad Stabilized Single Engine 41' DeFever Trawler.
