Up for auction is a beautifully restored 1953 16' Dunphy Musky, triple cockpit mahogany wooden boat. My father has spent over two years and countless hours on restoring this neat old boat!! He has totallt sanded and stripped it down to bare wood, and sanded, and sanded , and sanded... He used only the finest marine finishes on it, Interlux, West Systems ect... I think he has 9 coats of poly on it now, and it has a beautiful shine!! He used professionally matched paint to put original colors back on the boat. There was no rot , just a great solid boat!! All the original trim and hardware was used, nothing has been re-coated or re-chromed. The windshield may or may not be original to the boat, but looks great on it!! The motor is a Johnson 35 hp Super seahorse, and runs fantastic. It is all original with only the bottom half being repainted. The top was in such good condition we didnt feel it really needed anything. The trailer is also original to the boat(we think), and is a Tee Nee brand trailer. It too was 100% restored, blasted down to metal, primed, and painted, new decals on trailer , new tires, new bearings, lights are original and been cleaned up and polished. From what we can see all the Dunphy Muskys were front cockpit steer. This one was order and built as a center cockpit steer, which is very very cool looking out on the water. Boat is being sold as is with no warranty as it is still a used boat. Boat can be shipped or picked up in Janesville WI.
