1996 East Bay Boat Works Custom, One of a kind 1996 Custom Built 40 Mahogany Planked Cold Molded BoatBuilt in 1996. Ricky Gillikin at Eastbay Boats Works in S.C. completed the original and signed off on the paper work. It came to Tarpon Springs FL. In 1999 and was restored by Scottys Marine. I purchased the boat in 2003 and saw it through to completion. Scotty at Scottys Marine came with very high recommendations from boating experts.The boat was completely rebuilt throughout. In 2000, I installed the last pair of 1999 671s Detroit 485hp turbo engines. From there, the boat was completely rewired and all new systems were installed (generator, air-condition, toilet, holding tank, all mechanical). Boat was painted and a new custom tower and teak wood were installed. All work was completed in July 2006.The boat has been at The Pelican Yacht Club for the last 8 years, and has been professionally maintained.In 2014, new turbos along with fuel injectors were installed. It also went through a complete inspection and both heat exchangers were cleaned.Boat has a Furuno Electronics 12kw radar, autopilot, Satellite TV, and engine room camera.Boat has roughly 450hrs and generator around 500hrs, and hour meters are original.In June 2016, the boat was restored and updated with new paint inside and out. The bottom was stripped and resealed along with new custom bottom paint. The work was completed by John Dunkin, at Crackerboy. 1997 Grand Banks East Bay 38 HAWK is hull #48 of the Eastbay 38 Series from Grand Banks. The 38 was the first of the Eastbay models introduced by Grand Banks in 1993. One of the best running hulls ever designed by Ray Hunt she was an overnight success and spawned an entire series of Eastbays from the venerable builder of the finest Trawler Yachts in the world at that time. Her soft ride at any speed is now legendary and the benchmark for speed purposed Downeast style yachts. Eastbay was then, and in many respects still is, the yardstick for the breed because in the Eastbay 38, Grand Banks was able to combine elegant looks, speed, cruising comfort and exemplary interior woodwork, all in a hull designed by an industry legend. In its Singapore and Malaysia factories, Grand Banks turned out about 140 Eastbay 38s from ’93 through 2005 when she was replaced by the EB 39, a slightly longer, 1 inch wider hull which carried less fuel. The consensus among the Downeast yachting crowd is the 39 never lived up to her older sister’s performance and comfort standards as far as ride and efficiency. Owned by a knowledgeable and experienced yachting couple who bought her after selling their Grand Bank 36 MY, HAWK has been maintained in top condition. 2005 Glacier Bay 3470 Ocean Runner "Almost There" came to me from the first owner of this boat. I bought the boat in Baltimore and traveled the intercostal to Key Largo. Have taken the boat to the Exumas, Key West, Dry Tortugas, Florida East and West Coast. Fished it in Blue water and patch reefs of the Keys. Enjoyed flat calm days and stayed safe and comfortable in 6-8 seas. At 13 of beam and 37 overall you would need over 40 in any other Boat to give you the comfort and amenities available here. All that with under 2 of draft. I purchased the boat with very low hours so the Yamaha 250's now only have 535 hours. I added new electronics in 2014 including Garmin 7212 with sounder and Radar. Auto Pilot will follow the course in the Garmin and make the boat a dream for cruising and fishing. New Bottom paint summer 2016. New Batteries at that same time. Solid and stabile, the boat was originally designed for cruising Alaska with reinforced bulkheads and six separate sealed bilge compartments.
