Here is a Pacific Northwest classic 1956 restored 15 foot wooden runabout with a local history. In 1941, Morris Brown started B&B Boat Works in Marysville, WA building resort rental boats for marinas in Washington and Oregon.She has received a thorough inspection of fastenings and had any questionable structure replaced. She has been garage kept and is in great running condition. Her stamped hull number is 517. The 1956 Evinrude Lark 30hp has 145psi on the cylinders. It has received required attention to include new coils, wire harness, carburetor rebuild, and lower unit overhaul.The Calkins roller bunk trailer has clear registrations and title. The boat is on a three year temporary registration awaiting title approval. This registration is transferable to the new owner with approved title going to new owner.

This is a 1957 SORG all wood lapstrake designed boat that was built by the HENRY SORG boat company which was on Grand River Ave. in Detroit back in the 1950's. His company was noted for building very high quality runabouts and duck boats but there is very little information available on the company and its history. This boat is 15' long with a 64" beam and has a mid ship depth of 26". The transom height is 16". The boat is made of fir lapstrakes , with white oak keel-ribs-rubrails, and mahogany transom, dash, windshield, and assorted seat trim boards. It is a beautiful boat that was stored in a barn for many years and when found only needed to be refinished inside and out....there was no rot what so ever found during the survey. The windshield design is truly beautiful and makes the boat very attractive in my view. The refinishing process involved sanding, priming and two coating the exterior hull and sanding the interior and applying cetol penetrating finish. She is water tight and ready for use now. The trailer is a TEE NEE in good condition. While there is no motor included in this sale I am willing to give the buyer a late 50's Evinrude 35 HP outboard if they want it to renovate and add to the boat. It is a good used freshwater motor that has not been run in a few years but would be era correct. ( Free motor not shown in pictures). If you have any questions feel free to call me at 810-329-4372. Amazing original condition! I got this boat in a trade deal for a motorcycle and I do not have any use for it so my loss is your gain. It includes 2 fuel tanks, a ladder, and the boat, motor and trailer. I towed the boat 100 miles and it tows on the trailer great!! Everything works but the motor needs I guess it is called an input shaft? Motor pulls over great and runs great but the propeller is not turning. Maybe we screwed some thing up? The fiberglass is so nice, you feel like you went back in time!! Marine battery in the case is still hooked up. Last operated in the water in 2010. This Blue Grass Aluminum boat was manufactured circa 1960 by the Belknap Howe & Mfg. Co. of Louisville, Kentucky. It appears to be quite rare as I have found none like it and the company has been out of business for some time. I was told the wood decking and trim is Mahogany. It is rated for a maximum of 25HP and up to four passengers. This boat was owned by Dr. W.C. Potter of Russell, Kentucky who was an avid fisherman, and it's safe to say this boat has probably creeled more Bluegill and Bass than any other boat still in use. It would be a gem for collectors or better yet a boat to be enjoyed for many more years by someone who loves to fish. It is fairly light weight and easy to maneuver which makes it easy to get in and out of the lake or to store in a garage. It has always been kept indoors which accounts for its better than average condition for a boat of that age. It has no rust to speak of, but there is a little corrosion near the hull on the inside that appears to be superficial and easy enough to buff out. The boat and trailer do need some refinishing and standard maintenance. I have stored it in my barn for about nine years. The Evinrude Fastwin 15 ran fine nine years ago, but hasn't been used since. The boat also comes with two gas tanks which I believe hold six gallons. The gas has to be mixed with the appropriate oil which requires a 6:1 ratio. The trailer requires a 1 7/8 inch ball on the hitch. I do not believe a person would have a problem putting the boat as is in the water and heading out for a good day's fishing, however a little refinishing, fresh coat of marine paint, etc. would likely ensure this boat's use for years to come. It had always been my intention to fix it up and use it regularly, but nine years have past and I never have the time. My uncle, Dr. Potter, would have wanted the boat used and I can longer justify simply storing it away. I'd love someone to have it that will enjoy it. I consulted with an antique boat specialist who suggested a value of around $2000 if it were in mint condition, but thought $1500 to be fair for the boat as is. I have decided to list the boat at $1125. If you are a collector or someone looking for a good deal on a fishing boat, the Blue Grass with its unique style and vintage panache is it.
