With 2 cabins and 2 heads, this boat is perfect for those looking for comfort and style while cruising. So, what are you waiting for? Come check out this beautiful Gulfstar 44 today! I acquired Sea Hawk in 1982 and over the years made many improvements to her as outlined below: The boat had suffered some below water hull damage during Hurricane Bob in 1991. All damaged hull fiberglass was removed and replaced using West Epoxy and biaxial fiberglass, better materials than used in her construction. The bottom had been peeled when acquired and I had the whole bottom and keel covered with 21 oz biaxial fiberglass cloth and west epoxy and then sealed with Interlux Inter Portect 200E so blistering will never be a problem. A new Rudder and Skeg were made using waterproof plywood covered with Biaxial fiberglass cloth and west epoxy to replace the damaged components. The propeller shaft which had a very slight bend in the taper region, and the propeller were replaced. The bent 3 blade fixed propeller was replaced by a 2 blade geared folding GORI propeller, custom modified over the next two years to be a 23 x 13 propeller which provides excellent cruising mileage of 10 nmpg, generally unheard of in a 26,000 pound sailboat. The propeller shaft is spiral wrapped with fiberglass roving and west Epoxy to provide a non chipping coating for the bottom paint to adhere to. A new zinc collar is also attached to the shaft. The Cutlass bearing has been recently replaced so no maintenance in this regard will be needed for about 10 years of normal use. The original design skeg bolted on by five studs in a row, which failed was replaced for over $20,000, by a superior design and materials skeg with two larger diameter bolts to the side and 3 others in line, and attached from the inside so the rudder does not have to be dropped to remove the skeg, should that ever be necessary. The new skeg has only a partial sesason of use since installed. The spider around the rudder post was also strengthened when the new skeg was installed. The steering cables to the pedestal have also been replaced. The aft end of the keel has been extended by about 15" to allow for good hydrodynamic fairing instead of the as built thick rounded trailing edge, to improve speed and balance of the boat under sail. The bottom paint is Interlux Micron 66, the best available ablative bottom paint from Interlux for use in salt water. A fresh coat will be applied before launching for the purchaser.. The Perkins 4-108 engine has very few hours on it for a boat of this age since I was able to sail it in and out of the harbor in Cotuit MA. The total hours are well under 2500. The oil was changed at the end of each season with Mobil Delvac or synthetic Mobil oil since new. The transmission was completely filled to prevent corrosion at haul out and drained to the correct use level when launched in the spring. The interior teak bulkheads and panels have been coated with West Epoxy coating resin to eliminate the need to re oil the teak every year. The solid teak wood doors have also been sealed with coating epoxy and then varnished with West System varnish for a beautiful finish. The aft cabin cushions have been replaced with 6" thick foam to provide a more comfortable sleeping surface. The forward Vee Birth cushions and covers have been replaced by 5" thick foam. All cushion covers are made from machine washable fabrics. A refrigeration unit was added to the ice box after the boat was equipped with a 285 watt solar panel which more than supplies the electricity needs of the boat in sunny weather. Ice cubes can be made under the cold air supply from the refrigeration unit. A wind generator mounted at the stern is also supplied to augment the solar panel output on cloudy windy days. The original Signet instruments are available but have been replaced by Silva / Nexus instruments with much improved displays. Fixed and hand held VHF radios are supplied. The Furuno radar display is mounted on a custom bracket that allows the display to be seen from the chart table or pushed up through the galley overhead hatch to be seen from the cockpit. A new, one season ago, maximum size varnished cockpit teak table has been made and fitted, which is 60% larger than the original cockpit table, which is also available. The teak cap rail around the cockpit has just been refinished, and all exterior teak has been kept varnished since the boat was new. A large dodger extending back to the pedestal is included along with a smaller dodger and a Bimini which was used by the original owner. I'm the second owner. The mast, spreaders and boom have been maintained with Awlgrip two part polyurethane paint since new. The brackets for attaching the lower spreaders to the mast were reinforced and structurally improved after one of them failed under sail. The top plates on the turning blocks were replaced with stronger and thicker plates to improve the free running of the sheaves. The bolts holding the side rail tracks were replaced in way of normal trimming car locations with superior strength stainless steel after one of the heads on the original bolts snapped off due to hidden corrosion cracking. The standing rigging was inspected with the mast down since the boat was hauled and found to be in good condition, in the most recent survey, and the boat has never been struck by lightening. The advertised sale price includes replacing the standing rigging if wanted or an allowance (of about $7k) will be made for those not wanting to have the rig replaced. Sails are what power a sailboat! Since great performance was desired, the original sails, that come with the boat, were replaced by North Sails Main and 2 152% genoas. These sails have powered the boat to numerous New England race wins including the Venona prize for the "Round the Vineyard race" which we won both in class and overall including all classes based on our PHRF corrected time ?? Other race wins include the Buzzards Bay Regatta and several Whalers races around Block Island. Also installed is a removable inner headstay about 6" aft of the Harken roller furler which replaced the original Hood roller furler, and the replaced headsay, for which two hank on sails are included one about 120% and one a storm sail. Full spinnaker gear including an 18' spinnaker pole, mast track, topping lift and sheets are supplied along with a working spinnaker, (not measured for racing). A 45 pound CQR plow anchor and 14' 3/8" stainless steel anchor chain and rode are the normal anchoring gear and a 22 pound Danforth anchor, chain and rode is also supplied. Reason for selling is no longer using.

All bright work redone with Bristol Finish Stock #148944 The largest Linwood built, the only one built on the 64' hull and the only one fitted with V-12 engines at the factory! The 1961 Huckins 60' is a true endeavor with the passion for a romantic elegance restored to timeless beauty. Innovators who changed the way things were done, showed the impossible to be possible and whose legacies are integral within the foundations of what is today taken for granted, whether it be the first practical and affordable private jet, a revolutionary hull design that gave a smooth, fast and dry ride like none before, or designing the earliest planning hulls including the legendary PT boat and later among the first pioneers to sheath wooden hulls in fiberglass. For over nine decades and several generations of pleasure boat evolution and refinement Huckins has been there all along, still in the family, still innovating, still preserving, still striking the right balance between that which offers new possibilities and that which assures known qualities. Possibilities such as lighter weight, tighter construction tolerances or greater performance and efficiency, qualities such as reputation, durability and classic good looks. As is always the case among those who remain in business, let alone in the top tier for generations, it requires walking the high wire between the radical and the rational, a balancing act perhaps only made possible by generations of family ownership, a series of steady hands on the tiller sharing a common gene pool. Which brings us to the subject vessel at hand, the 1961 Huckins Linwood sixty footer, if not the finest example of the brand certainly one of them. Purchased first as an object of love by the current owner, she then became a mission and eventually an obsession, and just as it takes a special breed of innovator to give birth to a classic, it is often the case that love and obsession, not to mention sufficient means, are necessary attributes among those who wish to preserve them. Thus the mission became the total restoration of the vessel to her finest, few expenses spared, no lack of sand in the hourglass. The entire exterior hull was stripped of glass to the bare wood, completely refastened and then re-covered with West System Epoxy and 18oz bi-axial cloth. The keel and chine were reinforced with four layers of cloth, and all the topsides and decking with 10oz cloth. The structural necessities having been addressed, the more remarkable aspect of the project was restoring the power configuration to original. You see, among her past interesting owners was a drug running operation that doubtless appreciated her fine seaworthy qualities and speed, so much so that they reconfigured her to straight inboard with a dummy fuel tank sealed with contraband abaft, then loaded her topsides with bales of marijuana and abandoned her off the coast of Florida... whereupon the Coast Guard seized her and impounded her conveniently on land where the clever villains were able to sneak in under the cover of darkness, cut open the fake tank and recover the real contraband... yet another example of innovation by those obviously at the top of their game. So, out went that renegade power package and in came a pair of 12-V71 TI Diesel The mission is to reconstruct, restore and refit her as classic vessel to cruise 20 knots operating around 29 gallons/hour. To achieve this performance over Fifteen thousand hours highly skilled professionals completed the following: Exterior Hull Stripped to bare wood outside Entire hull re-fastened and covered with West System Epoxy (18 oz. bi-axel cloth) Keel and Chine reinforced with additional four layers of 18 oz. bi-axel cloth. 1982 Gulfstar GFS 44 Rarely does a yacht of this vintage come on the market that has been maintained to such exacting standards. Under the stewardship of her second owner, Sea Hawk has proven to be a competitive racer and a fast and able cruiser. The interior features a very roomy main salon, galley, forward vee birth, navigation station, aft cabin with dedicated head with separate shower, another head accessible from both the main salon as well as the vee birth, ample storage throughout the entire vessel and an engine room with access through two points of entry. The interior teak has been coated with West Clear Epoxy for a rich appearance requiring very low maintenance. The sail inventory includes a North Mainsail with 2 full battens and 3 sets of reef points in good condition; a North 152% Genoa in excellent condition on a Harken roller furler system; an extra Mainsail and 130% Genoa; a working spinnaker with 18’ spinnaker pole. The rig includes a removable inner head stay for a hank-on heavy air jib. The mast and boom maintained with Awlgrip. This Gulfstar 44 is powered by the original Perkins 4-108 engine with fewer than 2500 hours of use. It has always run with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. The Perkins provides 10 nautical miles per gallon at 5-6 knot cruising speed with a custom Gori 23x13 folding propeller. Maximum motoring speed over 7.8 knots. The hull bottom has been resurfaced with 24oz biaxial fiberglass cloth and West Epoxy so blisters will never be a problem. Micron 66 bottom paint wet sanded for superior performance and anti-fouling. A 280 watt solar panel with MPPT controller and 400 watt Airgen wind generator produce sufficient power eliminating the need for a generator. A Furuno radar is mounted on an aft pole. Ground tackle includes a 45 pound Plow anchor with 3/8” SS chain plus nylon rode; a Danforth 22# and similar lunch hook anchor 14# are included. 2013 Custom made skeg over 20kSpent Kingman Marine

This is an exceptionally well built wooden offshore fishing machine. She was designed by Naval Architect Nelson Zimmer and built by Murphy Boatworks in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Murphy Boats are famous for their quality design & construction. Murphys boats all benefit from his scrupulous attention to detail. They built sleek wooden powerboats, that were modern versions of the luxurious Chris-Crafts and GarWood boats that plied resort lakes and coastal waters in the 20s and 30s. To be low maintenance enough to stay even with fiberglass vessels, Murphy incorporated modern technology. The wood is held together with epoxy resins and epoxy-impregnated fiberglass cloth covers the hull below the waterline. Murphys boats are modern boats built out of wood. This mixture of elegance and convenience does not come cheap. If it was possible to re-create this work of art now, it would cost $300,000.00 to $400,000.00 dollars. This vessel has been in the water exactly four times. She was tested twice by Mr. Murphy the builder, and used twice by her owner for a total of 95 hours. In 1991 her owner was transferred overseas and for her next 21 years she was stored in a climate controlled storage facility, professionally taken care of. Her forward V-Berth allows an overnight stay, o

1989 Caliber 33 Brokers Comment: "Traveller" has spent her life on the Great Lakes Fresh Water. She has had numerous upgrades. Below is an excerpt from a review by Naval Architect Jack Horner: The method of construction of the Caliber 33/35 is just about as good as can be found on a moderately priced, production fiberglass boat. The hull is constructed of solid fiberglass and resin laminate. There are substantial and closely spaced floors throughout the bilge and unlike many boats in this size and price range, Caliber does not use pre-fabricated fiberglass liners blindly secured in place with adhesive bonding materials. Instead, Caliber secures each bulkhead and joiner component with two to four layers of hand-laid fiberglass cloth and resin. Decks are constructed with plywood, rather than balsa wood, core and the deck-to-hull joint is sealed with a polyurethane adhesive and then bolted thorough an aluminum toe rail every 6" with 1/4" stainless steel carriage bolts. The bolts are fit into square holes in the toe rail so that tightening the nuts will not cause the bolts to turn and break the caulking seal. This creates a strong, solid structure and creaks and groans common to lesser boats when they are stressed are practically nonexistent with the Caliber. Some of the early Caliber 33 models did have some problems with bowsprits that failed under heavy load but this was latter corrected with a beefed-up structure. The accommodations on both the Caliber 33 and 35 are virtually identical. There is a V-berth cabin forward followed by a starboard head with integral shower. The main saloon, with 6' 3" headroom, features a full-length settee/berth along the port side, an L-shaped starboard settee and a table that folds up against the forward bulkhead. There is an efficient U-shaped galley aft to port and a starboard quarter berth cabin/navigation station with a bi-fold partition to close it off from the saloon. Auxiliary power is provided by a Yanmar, model 3GM, marine diesel engine that provides plenty of punch. My sea time on these boats is limited to several sea trials. However, owners I have spoken with are nearly unanimous in their praise of the boat & sailing characteristics. The Caliber 33 and 35 are both excellent choices for bay and coastal cruising and, with proper experience and crew, they are capable of offshore passages. The bottom line is these are well-built boats that offer excellent value and have maintained their resale value well over the years.

Powered by a 5.7 Mercruiser Inboard. Ready for restaoration. The decks are soft and need to be replaced. This will require removing old deck and replacing the plywood and lumber. Basic carpentry skills are needed to accomplish this. Then apply fiberglass cloth and resin to seal deck then paint and splatter paint over to make non skid. This is how the factory deck was done. It is pretty simple. Just be sure the water can run overboard away from cabin. The only tricky part are the hatches. They originally are set level with deck with trough like gutter under seam edge to collect and plumb the water in hoses through the hull over board. The cabin is pretty much original. The motors need to be re-commissioned due to being in storage for years. The 5.7 GM Marine Crusader V drive system is a low maintenance design. The V drive transmission itself is missing and needs to be replaced. There has been water standing in hull from time to time while in storage. The boat last was running over five years ago. The price is low do to the boats deficiencies. We will part the boat out and recycle if it does not sell because we have sold the property where the boat is stored. Save this classic. It is the same as in the movie Cape Fear except this boat has the fiberglass gel coated inner liner cuddy under salon where as the Cape Fear boat had a storage area only under salon. This is the Gibson model but the Gibson company sold identical boats under the Silver Queen and Thunderbird names. The pictures were taken at different dates. The most recent pictures are of the boat on a cloudy day showing mildew all over the boat with many bottom pictures taken that same day. These are to the found scrolling to the right. The interior has gone nearly unchanged being it inside the cabin. Please inspect before purchase. Please call or email for pic's. For some reason I can't post pic's on this site.

The specially-designed sail plan and fiberglass hull is simple to sail, and its fixed shoal keel draws only two feet of water for excellent shallow-water launching and sailing capability. The pocket cruiser sleeps four adults, features a super convenient compact galley and an enclosed head with hard privacy doors. A true trailerable, the 25 comes with an easy mast-raising system that gives sailors the freedom to take it almost anywhere. The 1,300-pound lead keel is encased in fiberglass while in the mold, which allows unencumbered, easy trailering and outstanding directional stability. A galvanized dual-axle trailer is standard equipment. The towing weight for the package is 4,650 pounds. The 25 replaces the popular Hunter 240 and 260, long a mainstay in the company's small boat line. While the 25 may look similar to them from the waterline up, it incorporates 100% new tooling and features numerous improvements. The extended forward V-berth sleeps two, with room for two more to sleep laterally in the berth aft of the companionway ladder. A screened aft bunk hatch, along with six other portholes, provides an exceptionally bright interior, while teak trim adds warmth and richness. A teak dining table, galley sink with 10 gallon-capacity manual water system, portable single-burner stove and portable ice chest are standard equipment. The "Luxury Package" of options includes Sunbrella¨ interior cloth; accordion shades; 12-volt cooler; and marine head with holding tank. The cockpit features an open, roomy design and an open transom. An outboard engine bracket will accommodate up to
