This Blue Grass Aluminum boat was manufactured circa 1960 by the Belknap Howe & Mfg. Co. of Louisville, Kentucky. It appears to be quite rare as I have found none like it and the company has been out of business for some time. I was told the wood decking and trim is Mahogany. It is rated for a maximum of 25HP and up to four passengers. This boat was owned by Dr. W.C. Potter of Russell, Kentucky who was an avid fisherman, and it's safe to say this boat has probably creeled more Bluegill and Bass than any other boat still in use. It would be a gem for collectors or better yet a boat to be enjoyed for many more years by someone who loves to fish. It is fairly light weight and easy to maneuver which makes it easy to get in and out of the lake or to store in a garage. It has always been kept indoors which accounts for its better than average condition for a boat of that age. It has no rust to speak of, but there is a little corrosion near the hull on the inside that appears to be superficial and easy enough to buff out. The boat and trailer do need some refinishing and standard maintenance. I have stored it in my barn for about nine years. The Evinrude Fastwin 15 ran fine nine years ago, but hasn't been used since. The boat also comes with two gas tanks which I believe hold six gallons. The gas has to be mixed with the appropriate oil which requires a 6:1 ratio. The trailer requires a 1 7/8 inch ball on the hitch. I do not believe a person would have a problem putting the boat as is in the water and heading out for a good day's fishing, however a little refinishing, fresh coat of marine paint, etc. would likely ensure this boat's use for years to come. It had always been my intention to fix it up and use it regularly, but nine years have past and I never have the time. My uncle, Dr. Potter, would have wanted the boat used and I can longer justify simply storing it away. I'd love someone to have it that will enjoy it. I consulted with an antique boat specialist who suggested a value of around $2000 if it were in mint condition, but thought $1500 to be fair for the boat as is. I have decided to list the boat at $1125. If you are a collector or someone looking for a good deal on a fishing boat, the Blue Grass with its unique style and vintage panache is it. Here is my 1980 16' fishing boat with 1980 Shorelander trailer. Comes with 2004 Johnson 8 hp twin cylinder motor. It is a four stroke, I recently paid the local boat shop $180 to make sure the motor is tip-top. He rebuilt the carb and some other things. It ran fine when I bought it but it had been sitting a couple years so I wanted to make sure it wouldn't leave me stranded. The trailer has heavy duty plastic fenders in good shape, new LED lights, new tires and it pulls very nice down the road. It has nice sized tires not those tiny tires you see on some trailers. I've had it up to 80 mph on the interstate, no problem. Almost zero rust on the trailer. Boat floats just fine, new bimini top, live well pump works. The wiring was corroded when I bought it so I just stripped back the wires and take my jump box with me and just clip onto the pump wires. No trolling motor or electronics. The rear transom is a bit shaky where the motor hangs on, I don't go down the highway with the motor hanging on back there just to be safe. It seems to do fine in the water. You may want to put on a new piece of wood or additional bracing around the motor. Its not fancy but it will get you out on the water for little $$. I have found it is simply more fun to go fishing in my kayak. Plus its just easier, no towing, licensing, or fuel. I only used this boat a half dozen times last year so I need to clear up some space in my garage. The boat and trailer titles are in my name. The motor title is signed over to me but still in the last guys name. When I went to get everything licensed at the BMV the lady told me nothing was needed for the motor so to save $$ she said not to even bother sending it off. I hope that's not a problem, if it is I can see what it takes to sort it out. Thanks

The boat has been well maintained and is great for fishing. I have personally caught many-a-fish on this boat. The back end of the boat has a spacious fishing area, large live well for pin fish and storage compartments everywhere. The cabin is very nice and great place to rest from pulling in all those grouper lol. My favorite addition to the boat is the electric free fall anchor wench...this is a MUST for any fishing boat. I have always said when cruising around in this boat that it cuts through the water and it drives like a Cadillac. I will hate to see this boat sold. Here's the rundown: Year: 1989 Make: Grady White Model: Sports Fisherman Length: 25 Feet Beam: 9.5 Feet Trailer: No Trailer (stored/maintained on davits) Use: Salt Water Motors: Twin Outboard, 2-200HP Yamahas Gas: Regular Gas, Needs mixing 50-1, (tanks hold over 200 gallons) Oil Reservoirs: There are two oil reservoirs in the back end but they have been bypassed. Our boat mechanic said it was the most efficient way to go and there is one less thing that can go wrong out on the water. MOTOR RUNS GREAT AND VERY LITTLE USE. STARTS FIRST TURN. hull looks great and tons of storage for boat. comes with bimini top frame. the steering was tight so i got completely new steering cable, hub everything not installed yet. never tried it but has a ship to shore radio, and fish finder which had a bad looking screen so i purchased another screen off ebay. has a fish debt finder with extra screen, marine radio and compass. will be putting on BLUE led lights on. Hello!Thank you for taking a look at my ad for the fishing boat I grew up in. I feel confident in saying that the boat does not look like a 1999. I have taken care of the boat over the years a long with keeping the accessories inside the house. I am selling this boat for a friend. He has used this boat for fishing charters on Lake Erie. He is the original owner. It is a 28 ft. 1984 Omega Hardtop with a 454 Crusade engine according to the details he wrote down for me. He has a fish finder, radio and GPS for the boat which he will install when the boat sells. There is some fishing equiptment such as rods, etc. shown in the pics that are not included with the boat. There are some life jackets shown in the pics that are old and need to be replaced. Just over 100 hours of operation with the last 10 years or 95 hours of operation in fresh water. I purchased this boat in 2004 from my cousin in Florida who put about 10 hours on it in Sarasota in 2002. Since then it has been in fresh waters in & around Kentucky. I have had it out about 3 hours this summer and it ran beautifully. 3 years ago I had to replace the flywheel and I rebuilt the carburetors also. Other than that, just new plugs. It has some spider cracks but they are only noticeable if one looks for them. A main unique upgrade to this boat is the aluminum-frame, 8 foot square canvas top. This is a life saver for a day on the water in the sun and allows people up to almost 6 feet to move about without even needing to duck. I got it as my wife wanted something safe and substantial on the water and I wanted to be able to pull 4 tubes at a time. We were both happy. This boat cruises about 37mph at 4200rpm. It pulls skis, tubes, wakeboards, kneeboards with ease. A fun/safe boat.

1973 14 foot aluminum v hull with newer carpeted decking and paint. Pretty good shape for its age. Needs a new rear light, but front lights work fine. Shift lever on 9.5 motor broke and was improvised (see pic). Tilt & lock bracket on 9.5 motor needs repair/replacement. I have been using the boat as-is for years, it works fine and gets me to the fishing spots. I just wanted to mention a few things you may want to repair. Includes the following: *Trailer with newer rims and tires. *2 swivel seats. *Storage box/bench seat. *9.5 HP Johnson motor with tank, fuel line, and primer bulb. I put a new $100 prop on it, it runs fine, smokes a bit. *Newer Minn Kota Endura 34 trolling motor (hardly used). *Two Marine batteries and an enclosure box. *Humminbird fish finder. *Two life vests, anchor and rope. *Safety paddle. This boat is pretty light weight and will go into shallow waters. Great for fishing rivers and ponds. I had a lot of fun with this boat, now its your turn.
