I couldnt tell you the age of Lehman or hours as hours meter says 500 or so but I doubt thats true. runs great I have put on 100 hours since I bought it never had a problem thus far. Cruise 9-10kts. I think you can prop it better for speed. 500 hours on the meter butg I can't imagine that being accurate.. On Aug-31-15 at 10:11:10 PDT, seller added the following information:

Its a 120 Lehman top end is over 10KT but your better off at 8KT....IT burns NOTHING...You can google the calculations but I also think you can reprop it and get more speed as the prop is built for torque. The deck has two main soft spots forward that can easily by cut out and fixed with some marine ply.... super reliable boat for me thus far. ...we installed a 44 gallon saddle tank and there is also another tank in the boat but we dont use it and its not brand new so I didn't want to mix it with the new one....Since the boat burns nothing 44 gallons should be plenty for you as this isnt a canyon/overnight boat.....Give me a call I will go over it with you....Feel free to come take a look as well its in (WEstchester County) more photos from when we bought her 2 years ago - http://s1181.photobucket.com/user/mcangelo4/library/Privateer Lehman- http://s1181.photobucket.com/user/mcangelo4/library/LehmanWe replaced all the main parts recomended by Bomac. Put over 100 hours on it since purchase hasn't stalled or failed us yet... 2 reasons why I bought the boat are its solid glass proven hull and its got a ford lehman 120(mechanical and older but if you look at their track record its a no brainer)

This is a super nice Marine Trader 34' Diesel Double Cabin Trawler. I am the third owner of it. It is a 1985 which is the first year for the re-designed flybridge cabin. Prior years had issues where the cabin fastened to the deck that caused rot and soft deck problems. This vessel has always been in fresh water and under cover. It is a very solid boat with one exception. The upper deck has a couple of soft spots. It is the Achilles heal, so to speak, of these boats. If you research this problem on line you will see that the problem was because they used left over mahogany plywood pieces for the fill material. Mahogany plywood has oils in it so the resins failed to bond after time. I cored drilled a hole to verify that there was no moisture problem and there is not any moisture issue. You can see the core drill and plug in the upper deck picture. There are several ways to correct the problem, and I actually have a kit to do the work, but I thought it best to let the new owner choose his own method. That is the only real issue with this boat. Now for the good stuff. These boats were all hand / custom built in Taiwan. They are built like tanks and have tons of teak wood inside and out. Every piece of wood you see in the picture is real Teak. All of the interior doors have hand carved oriental scenes on them. The floor is all inlaid teak. There are 2 full baths. One in the front quarters and one in the rear captains quarters. The captains quarters has 1 double bed and a single bed. The front quarters has a very large Vee birth. Lots of storage cabinets / drawers everywhere. There is a table for the central area but I have it stored. I was not using it and it made it easier to open up the engine bay with it off. Cushions are all original and in excellent shape. The last time she was pulled was 5 years ago. All was good at that time, but it is probably due for another inspection out of the water. I would not anticipate any issues. The engine is a Ford Lehman Diesel with only 900 hours on her. Lehmans can go for 30,000 hours before needing any major work. It has a range of 1,000 miles on the 300 gallons of fuel she holds. Both tanks are currently full. The engine starts right up, even after sitting for 5 months over the winter. Trans shifts great and makes no noise. Truly a great running boat. It is super easy to winterize also. It does not have a gen set or marine A/C. It does have a brand new window A/C unit that really cools the interior down fast. There is a great working windlass with chain up front. I have a name of shipper that can ship this boat just about anywhere in the US, and he is very reasonable. He is located close to where the boat is. It is currently on the Mississippi River near Alton, Illinois. Zip code 62035. It is in a covered slip in a safe marina that you can keep the boat in until you can have it moved. Guy is Gerry Cameron with Cameron Marine Transport. Cell # 618-727-2337 and office # 618-687-2800. Tell him it is Dave Walter's boat at the Piasa Marina on the river road between Alton and Godfrey Illinois. BUC Book International has this boat valued at over $50,000.00, and I doubt that you will find another one like her that has always been in fresh water and covered. I would not be afraid to motor this vessel up or down the river to get to wherever you are. Do some research on these fine boats. You will find that they are very well built and desirable boats. I know I am forgetting something here, so call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions. Now for the business end. I will need $1,000. down payment within a few days and full payment within 2 weeks. The boat cannot leave here until all funds clear my bank. Sorry, no exceptions. It is a documented vessel , in my name, so that part is easy. It can stay where she is for a long time. You just have to take over the slip fees which are very reasonable at around $150.00 per month. Again, call BEFORE you bid for honest answers to your questions. Thanks, Dave 314-732-592five.

Every effort has been made to accurately describe this vessel. However, it is a 44 year old sailing vessel and your buying decision should be solely based on your own experience and expertise or that of a qualified marine surveyor. Stock #307204 Most of the Work Is Done!! Lots of Upgrades and Improvements!! Tune the Rigging and Sail Away!! Are you looking for a spacious liveaboard that can easily sleep 5-6 people comfortably? This 1980 Formosa Spindrift 44 is your answer. The current owner searched for over three years to find this specific make/model. Since owning it he has worked tirelessly 6 years to restore and upgrade her. Unfortunately, although much of the work is done, his health prevents him from finishing the task. She is cutter rigged with the furling forestay on the bowsprit and a staysail boom. The sail inventory includes a mainsail and roller furling jib that has not been used since they came out of the sail shop after being restitched/reconditioned. There is also a hank on staysail that appears to be in serviceable condition. Having the standing rigging checked and R&Rd by a certified rigger is still on the "To Do" list. All the running rigging is new, with the exception of a couple of lines, and the new line is on a spool below to complete those. Ground tackle includes a new Vulcan 25KG with 300' of 3/8 BB chain. There is also a 60# CQR with 20' chain and 1" rode (total rode unknown). There is a Maxwell horizontal windlass with chain gypsy and rode drum. Electric power, in addition to shore power, is provided by two (2) Solarever Photovoltaic 315W panels flowing through an Outback Flexmax controller and feeding four (4) 100Ah AGM batteries. Additionally, there are two (2) Duracell SL34 MAGM batteries and two (2) flooded lead acid batteries (motor start). Navigation and communication equipment were all replaced in March of 2021 and all connected via a NEMA 200 backbone. These include Garmin Autopilot, chartplotter, and radar. There is also a Standard Horizon 25W Matrix VHF and a Standard Horizon Eclipse GX1400 VHF. All equipment boxes and documentation are still on board. There is also a Pro Mariner ProSport 12 battery charger and a Schumacher 2000W power converter. When not under sail power is provided by a Ford Lehman 80HP diesel engine pushing a Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission. With the 300 gal fuel the range of this vessel is significant. The engine has a new water pump, fuel pump, starter, alternator, and damper plate. The heat exchanger and oil cooler have been cleaned and serviced and there is a new fuel polishing system installed. Below the boat is very spacious. The galley has a double well stainless steel sink, a Force 10 stove/oven, and a microwave. The original refrigerator/freezer space is being currently used for storage, although the refrigeration unit is still there, and there is a stand-alone refrigerator and a stand-alone freezer. There is a Dickinson heater (diesel) and a residential window air conditioner that is easily removed. There is space to sleep 5-6, and 2 heads. Currently, the aft head is being used for storage. There is a considerable amount of storage. Outside, the bottom and the hull above the water line were painted about two years ago and are in good condition. The top deck is wide open with wires leading to turn buckles anchored to outward chainplates. The top deck appears to be in good condition with no "soft spots" noted. However, it is due for a paint job and all of the brightwork needs to be oiled. If your looking for a full-time live aboard, or just a comfortable, stable cruiser, this full keel 1980 Formosa Spindrift 44 could be just the boat you're searching for. Living your sailing dreams is in reach. Don't miss this opportunity!! Reason for selling is health issues.

This 1986 Marine Trader Sundeck trawler is in overall very good condition. The teak deck is in great shape and the hull appears excellent. The galley has been refreshed with new appliances. The engine and generator are up to date on maintenance with new starter motors on each. All of the bilge pumps were replaced between 2021 and mid-2023. Two out of the three air conditioners are new and feature digital controls. The third AC unit, in the V-berth, is inoperative and due for replacement. The seller uses the v-berth mostly for storage, but on the few occasions it has been used for sleeping, keeping the door open between the salon and the cabin has provided plenty of cool air. A sudden high speed wind gust while at anchor early in 2023 resulted in the original bow spirit breaking and the anchor chain dislodging into the starboard side of the stainless tube bow railing and bending some tubing. The bow spirit has been replaced with a solid fiberglass model bolted into the deck with a stout backing plate. The seller has yet to find someone to repair the railing but continues to try.
