1986 Formula 28 Pc --1986 Formula 28PC I/O. The boat has been re-powered with twin 5.7L Mercrusier engines in 2012. Each has less than 47 hours on them. Boat has been professionally maintained. The drives are newer SEI. The interior is upgraded. Has V-berth, aft cabin {boat sleeps 6 nicely}, kitchen, bathroom w/shower-( all freshwater lines, holding tank and pump are new)full size toilet- (all sanitary lines are new, charcoal system, holding tank). Kitchen is very spacious with plenty of storage. Equipped with newer alcohol stove, new fridge, custom kitchen table, new microwave, and new teak floors. The deck seating is all redone in last 2 years. Has full camper canvas (less than a year old), full mooring cover, and air condition. The instrumentation/gauges are less than a year old. The boat comes with a Garmin GPS, and all safety equipment (life vests, signal kit) and engine fire suppression system. There is many more extras that are not listed. 1988 Formula 29 PC 1988 Formula 29 PC (Performance Cruiser) ESTATE SALE: Single owner, lift kept. Repowered in 2007 with Twin Mercruiser 5.7's. Upholstery updated in 2010. New anchor windlass motor 2016. Professionally detailed and shrink wrapped annually. This 29 Formula PC is in very nice condition with low hours and including air, generator! A lot of boat for the $$$$'s . . .Built on a solid fiberglass deep vee hull with a relatively wide beam, the interior of the 29PC features a forward "stateroom" open to the salon and a convertible dinette and a midcabin aft. VESSEL WALKTHROUGH: As you enter the cabin aft is a mid cabin which sleeps 2; to starboard is an enclosed head with vanity,toilet and shower and forward to starboard is the galley with refrigerator,sinkmicrowave,stove-top. In the cockpit the helm seat swivels to face aft and the back seat slides into a transom recess providing easy access to the engines or a more open cockpit for fishing; The engine hatch is on a hydraulic lift. The PowerBoat Guide had this to say: Introduced in 1988 as a replacement for the aging Formula 28 PC, the Formula 29 PC is basically an enlarged version of her predecessor with additional beam and weight, a little less transom deadrise, and improved styling (note the curved windshield and swept-back radar arch). Built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with a relatively wide beam, the interior of the 29 PC is similar to most mid-cabin floor plans built since the early 1990s with the forward stateroom open to the salon and a convertible dinette for sleeping a couple of kids. The galley has enough counter space for some serious galley work, and privacy curtains separate fore and aft sleeping areas from the main cabin. Formula used quality fabrics and furnishing in the 29 PC, and while the interior decor is dated by today's standards it's held up very well indeed compared with most boats of her era. In the cockpit, the helm seat swivels to face aft, and the back seat slides into a transom recess providing access to the motors. (The deck rises hydraulically to expose a big engine compartment.) Twin Mercruiser 350-cid sterndrives will cruise at 21 knots and reach 33-34 knots top. This is, by the way, ans especially good-handling boat.

So, is there a down side? Formula boats first gained national recognition in 1962 with their 233 model which earned several victories on the offshore powerboat racing circuit and Formula boats have long been known for the "go-fast" persona established by these early models. However, for over 20 years, Thunderbird Products, the parent corporation of Formula Boats, has also built performance cruisers. The 27 PC (Performance Cruiser) was introduced in 1994; it remains in production and is currently the smallest and most popular of the company's "cruiser series" of boats which includes models up to 41 feet. The overall length of the 27 PC is actually 28' 3'" including the molded swim platform. The design is in the genre of what has become known as mid-cabin sport cruisers, characterized by an open cockpit, slightly raised steering bridgedeck and accommodations below. Although not as extreme as some boats, the hull is still in the "deep-V" category and the 18 degrees of deadrise is a very good compromise for power and performance in this style of vessel.
