1996 Formula 280 Sun Sport. Very interesting history on this boat, Please read the entire listing. This boat was purchased brand new in 96, It was Only used for 2 seasons(96 and 97) and then put in storage for years, until I purchased in in Nov 2013. I am a boat mechanic with over 35 years experience, I was looking for a Formula 280 SS for my family to use at out lake house on Lake George NY, and this was the clean'ist one I could find. It only had 250 original hours on it, most of the features on the boat had never been used. I removed the engine, drive and transom assymbly and sold them.I wanted the boat as close to perfect for my family as possible. I Prepped and Painted the bilge with Interlux White Epoxy 2 part bilge paint. Then I installed all new blower motors, 2 bilge pumps, 2 float switch's, dual batteries and a new trim pump. I installed a Brand new Bravo transom assymbly. I installed a Completely rebuilt Mercruiser 454 Magnum with 385HP. The engine is carburated and is as simple as they come, very easy to maintain and work on, and very reliable. I then installed a new Bravo III Dual Prop sterndrive. The boat went in the water first week of August, this summer in Lake George and it runs GREAT. A Single engine in this boat is the way to go, it is very good on fuel, (burns only 6-8 gallons a hour) it goes up on plane quickly and runs much more efficient then twins. I cruise the boat at 3000 to 3200 RPM's and the boat is doing about 32mph, a little more Rpm's and the boat will do in the 40's no problem. The boat has approx 10 hours on the new power. Total hours on the boat are about 260, That's all. It is very large and wide, and takes any waves with ease, it drives like a Cadillac. This boat is fully loaded! The cabin has shore side power. 2 sinks. Inclosed Marine head with holding tank and monitoring system. 2 showers, one in the bathroom and one on the stern. Marine CD stereo System with new Speakers and remote. AC/DC Fridge and ice maker. Alc stove in the cockpit area. Full canvas with double bimini top to the stern, most of the canvas never used. Cockpit cover. Removable Tables for the cabin and cockpit. Power engine hatch lift and alot more. This boat is turn key ready and needs nothing. We have decided to move down south and are liquidating our toys. I could not replace this boat for what I am asking, I have alot of hours and money into it,(alot more then I am asking) whoever gets this boat will be very pleased with their purchase. My insurance company appraised the boat at 23,500 that is what they valued and insured it for. Terms of sale, A trailer is NOT included with the purchase price of the boat, this is a large boat and some people can not tow it. I DO, have a trailer that I can offer for it, at a very good price, it is a 2002 32ft aluminum triple axle trailer for 10,500 capacity. The trailer is a extra 2,000 dollars if you want it. I can deliver this boat within 250 miles for a fee of 3.00 a loaded mile. I can deliver this boat to the ports in NY, NJ or Baltimore MD for a fee. I can winterize this boat for a small fee.
