2003 Fountain 42 Lightning Heres a chance to purchase one of the quickest, safest, turn key, and best handling fountains ever made. This is the Lightning Series with the Big Step race hull and Staggered engine configuration. At sea level (Havasu) with 32 Five Blades this boat hit 92-95 mph with only a pair of 575 sci engines. This boat has XR Drives to harness the power. This boat is loaded with options right from fountain that include, Vacu-Flush head with holding tank, 7k Gen with Heat/AC, Freshwater tanks with water heater, carbon fiber style vinyl with embroidery, red carpet in cockpit, silent choice exhaust, short race windshield, and a Taod Custom Paint Job (35K+). Aftermarket includes a huge custom stereo, anchor-chain-rope, life jackets, buoys, and tie down ropes. A 40 Ft Triple axle aluminum trailer with seven new tires is also included. The wood bunks on the trailer are also new with fresh carpet. This boat stays dry in bilge. Boat is kept inside when not in use never been stored outside. Boat shows 400 hrs. We have shown photos to best describe this boat even a few small flaws. Looking to move up to a 47 might consider trades. Heres what was done on boat prior to my purchase by So Cal Marine (Chuck) 1. Top end rebuilds on both engines at 300hrs superchargers inspected and serviced. 2. Drives serviced and inspected at 330hrs. Engines have had full service. Outdrives have been removed and reinstalled with all new seals and bearings. She's been maintained with an open checkbook and all service records are available. Cabin A/C, Garmin GPS, Kenwood Stereo System, perfect cockpit interior and a nice cabin with beautiful cabinets. Underneath the cabinet, find a sink,small refrigerator and on the starboard side, a Vac u flush toilet. Will be sold with trailer. Original owner who is very knowledgeable and has owned many boats over the years. This 42 Lightning runs right at 90MPH and owner just does not have the time to enjoy it.

The 42 Lightning has won more races than any other v-bottom hull in offshore racing history. Holding more championships and speed records than all of the other manufacturers combined! 1999 Fountain 42 Lightning Fountain's race-proven 42' Lightning holds the current V-bottom world speed record at 143.946 mph, so you can imagine how the boat performs with stock horsepower. Staggered engines bring the props closer together and keep the center of gravity down along the keel, where it works best. Preferred power is twin 500 EFI Mercury's (80+ mph) although you can step all the way up to 900 SC's and easily push the speedometer into triple digits. Boat is in fare condition with a bit of stitching in vinyl missing and various dings etc to be expected with a boat of its age. Motors look and run fantastic.
