This 1978 Ranger 33R sailboat appears in great shape for a vessel this age. The seller did a long list of upgrades 2-3 years ago, and she's ready for new sailing adventures. We're told all systems work as they should. Looking for offers! Stock #371031 Well maintained 1978 Ranger 33R! Very well equipped and ready to sail! Check out this 1978 Ranger 33R sailboat! The Ranger Yacht division of Jensen Marine was created in 1969 to build performance-oriented boats designed by Gary Mull. She's good-looking, well-balanced, and sails well on all points of sail. She has a bright, airy interior, plus a comfortable cockpit, and is easily converted from racer to cruiser and back again with minimal effort. Today, after all these years after their introduction, Ranger 33s are still popular as both easy-sailing club racers and bargain cruisers. The interior of the Ranger 33 is quite livable for two people, and even for four for short cruises. The boat has sleeping accommodations for 6 with a galley and dinette There's 6' 2" of headroom on the centerline in the main cabin. The headroom is fairly constant throughout the boat, as the top of the cabin is parallel to the cabin sole. Electronics consists of B&G Zeus3 9 Multi-function Display (chartplotter) touch screen with SailSteer software, B&G Triton display, B&G WS320 wireless wind instrument, B&G Ship-to-shore radio with AIS receiver and MMSI, plus Standard Horizon handheld radio with spare lithium battery The boat has an enclosed head with rebuilt hoses and a new holding tank in 2021. The Atomic 4 now has electronic ignition, an electronic fuel pump, a Moyer Marine water pump, and a new 22 Gallon fuel tank A few other nice features include StackPack for Main Sail, Headsail sock, Helm cover, multiple sets of sheets, Martec 12x6 folding prop and cradle Win races or cruise the Great Lakes, this Ranger will get you on the water without breaking bank Reason for selling is moving on to something else.

This boat is sold on behalf of Sandusky Junior Sailors (SJS), a non-profit sailing program. This boat was donated to SJS. All proceeds benefit their programs. Donations to SJS, a 501(c)(3) charity, are tax-deductible within the limits of IRS rules. Purchases are typically not deductible. All boats sold "AS IS, WHERE IS." Please read entire description carefully. Information believed to be accurate but not guaranteed. We always recommend a professional survey before purchasing any watercraft. This Gary Mull design was built between 1975 and about 1978 by Ranger Yachts of Costa Mesa, CA (later Jensen Marine.) They are said to win more than their share in PHRF even today. The specs we have say she displaces 5100 and draws 4'6". This boat was actively sailed until about four years ago and has since been stored at the boat yard, with little attention since, so it needs a little cleaning up. It's available for inspection. We live close by so appointments should be fairly easy. There is a 2007 professional survey that indicated an estimated market value of $3900 at that time. That survey is available for inspection. Large sail inventory includes at least one mainsail, various jibs, and at least one spinnaker with turtle. These are older sails but said by the donor to all be usable. There are stored separately in an indoor heated space and are available for inspection by appointment only. This is an aluminum spinnaker pole. Power is 15 HP OMC Zephyr Saildrive, 1984 model 15S14M (gasoline) retrofitted circa 1984, rebuild circa 2011. The hull is single-skin (solid, no core) fiberglass with a bolt-on lead keel. It appears to be in good, sound condition. Rudder and post appear sound, operating smoothly with no perceptible play. Decks are balsa core and show significant softness in some areas. This is indicated in the survey and may have progressed from the time of the survey. There is no cradle. The jack stands belong to the yard. This boat yard quite reputable. It is gated and well-secured. Yard states that Winter storage and Spring 2017 launch has been prepaid. Yard states that buyer must schedule a launch by June 1, 2017, or arrange for Summer storage. Our relationship with this yard is of great value to us. All appointments must be scheduled through the lister. Please do not attempt to arrange access directly with the boat yard. If you wish to verify storage arrangements with the yard, please contact us first. Questions welcome. Also, we can provide additional pictures detailing areas you might have more questions about, and we'd be happy to call you if you provide a U.S. or Canada #. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS BOAT! One of Gary Mull's "second-generation" Freedom designs: Freedom's unstayed carbon-fiber mast allows for ultimate simplicity - powerful deep-roach main has full-length battens easily sliding up-mast thanks to batt-car type track system. Sloop rig gives added versatility of a self-tending foresail on a boom. Set up for single-handing, with both autopilot AND wind-vane; all lines led to cockpit -- Octogenarian owner (since 1991!) still single-hands her, but realizes his days of going to the Broughtons and further north (alone) are nearing an end. A true two-stateroom layout: private enclosed double-berth stateroom aft of the large navigation station as well as traditional forepeak enclosed stateroom. Recent canvas: new dodger, mainsail cover and jib bag on-boom. Interior teak woodwork in very good condition! No tears, stains or spills on original fabrics. Fresh bottom paint AND engine servicing April 2012 -- she's ready for your cruising! ----- Please call at least a day in-advance for viewing, as owner moors boat just off a private island in SouthSound, and will bring the boat to nearest mainland dock, with sufficient advance notice.
