1997 Goetz Taylor 49 49' Goetz/Taylor '97 "Numbers" Numbers is a very competitive and highly optimized for ORR and PHRF racer in immaculate condition, ready for the next buoy or offshore regatta. Originally designed by Jim Taylor as Design #95 49 ft LOA Grand Prix IMS Racer and built by Goetz Boatworks in Bristol, RI she has gone through complete retrofit and modernization under the expert advice of Greg Stewart from Nelson Marek. The Hull consists of unidirectional and biaxial Kevlar reinforced skins over PVC foam cores, whose density is varied to suit local loadings. The Deck is a similar laminate of Kevlar skins over PVC foam, with high compression core and additional laminate in way of all deck hardware. Pre-impregnated epoxy resins are used throughout. Both hull and deck are locally reinforced with unidirectional Kevlar to minimize the longitudinal deflections resulting from the headstay, running backstay and mast compression loadings. NUMBERS, is the third IMS racer of the same name that this office has designed to win the 1997 Admirals Cup. She comes with a wealth of racing performance data, extensive tuning charts and crew manual Completely replaced state-of-the-art electronics, electrical systems, running rigging and extensive sail inventory make NUMBERS a turn-key race machine.

1994 Goetz Custom Sail #34 CURRENT PRICE IS A GUIDE.  ALL OFFERS RESPECTFULLY CONSIDERED. General DescriptionAmerica's Cup yacht Stars & Stripes (sail number 34) is probably most famous for not winning a Cup. It wasn't because she didn't perform under pressure, but because she never got the chance. While the 24 meter yacht, designed by David Peddic and built in 1994 by Goetz Boat Works, won the right to defend the Cup, Dennis Conner chose Young America (US 36) over Stars & Stripes. The new choice was no match for Team New Zealand's Black Magic, which beat out Team Dennis Conner four times in a row. Actual ConditionIt is reported that the boat is in overall good condition and had been used for tourist day trips in Chicago area for a few years. There are dings in the carbon fiber on the bow and stern mainly due to bumping into the dock...other than that the boat appears to be in good shape. EquipmentSecond New Mast 4 -Sets of Sails Assorted Equipment and Tools in Storage 3 -12 volt Batteries 4 -Auto Bilge Pumps   A trailer is not included in this sale. EnginesPlease read Motors and Machinery Disclaimer. Motors and Machinery DisclaimerNo statement of condition can be made regarding motors, engines or machinery, whatsoever. s/v RAN Vessel Specifications An extensive collection of photos of the exterior and interior can be found here and include very recent photos as well as photo during reconstruction:https://flic.kr/s/aHsk24yEXwTechnical information on the refit can be found here:http://www.livingstructure.org/#!ran/c1st8PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL UNTIL YOU REVIEW ALL THE PHOTOS AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS. I will be happy to answer questions. I can get you on the boat as well. email: jdardozzi-at- livingstructure-dot-org History: RAN is a riveted-steel yawl built in Danzig, Germany in roughly 1924 as an ocean cadet trainer for the German navy. It was purchased by us from Soren Goetz of Denmark after a 10 year circumnavigation. Soren bought it from the Swedish government, who had been the owners of the vessel since it arrived in Sweden in the 1960's following a refit by Communist Party officials who used it to defect from Poland. The Swedish government had used the vessel in a correctional program for addicts where they took them blue water sailing for extensive periods of time. Soren was the captain of the vessel during this time. When the government decommissioned the boat, he purchased it. He refit the boat in the late 1980's and circumnavigated until the late 90's The designer of RAN is unknown, although I did attempt to research designers of the period and did make contact with several European boat owners of vintage riveted-steel hulls of the period that looked very close in lines. Records were destroyed/lost as a result of WWII and so the chances of knowing the exact details are probably impossible Present Condition & Location Present location is on the hard in the Charleston Shipyard in Charleston, OR. The shipyard is a great place to work (a lot of DIYers) but the weather can be tough at times. Services in the yard are excellent for steel, SS, aluminum, wood and diesel engine work. Rent is $200/m. The boat requires the interior woodwork to be completed in a fashion suitable to the new owner. Some interior wood work has been done. Exterior work like locker lids, sail controls, maintenance etc require completion. All the mechanics are in place and functioning. The boat can be placed in the water now with just new bottom paint. Zincs are new. I just returned from the boat this September and she remains dry and in good condition.
