1976 Helms 25 Swing Keel 1976 fiberglass swing keel sailboat, with motor,on tandem trailer. This boat was designed and built by Jack Helms or Irmo, S.C.. Based on the Catalina 22', it has much more cockpit room and seating for 6. Rigged with a masthead sloop, with a transom hung rudder and tiller steering. Boat was largely refurbished in 2012-2015, new running rigging, new lighting, new interior woodwork, new porta-potty, new cushions covers in sunbrella fabric. This is a 1983 Helms 24, built in Columbia, South Carolina by Jack Helms. A very solid boat held in high regard for solid quality. Unusual to a boat this size, near 6' headroom in the cabin making it a great weekender or cruiser. Normal wear and tear to be expected but most items in working order. Items recently replaced or added: - New electronic bilge pump and plumbing to thru hull out the back. - New electronic sink faucet and pump to replace old leaky hand pump faucet - New chemical toilet - New 60W solar panel with charge controller for battery charge (Outboard motor is wired to charge motor but is not currently being utilized) - Removed old hanging house speakers in cabin and replaced with (2) 6.5" speakers in cabin and (2) 6.5" speakers in cockpit Included in sale: All items mentioned above Life jackets and throw cushions Main sail, Jib sail, and Genoa Sail (I believe is 150%) Side mounted portable ladder Main sail cover Head sail cover Winch covers Tiller Cover Bottom line, boat is ready to sail, in great shape, and a solid built boat. 1978 - stout dry boat, no soft spots. Diesel engine removed - shaft and prop. remain. Outboard mount (no outboard engine).Big battery - solar panel keeps it charged. Also new 30 amp electric - cost $2000.00. Good liveaboard area on Ashley River. Boat needs some work but livable now. Reasonable dock rent with lease available. A Helms is a Catalina Customized with good creds. Pressurized water system. Good head with holding tank.

Lightning Sailboat Hull Number 10919 with Trailer and CoverFiberglass Lightning #10919 , a Classic built in 1968 by the Jack A. Helms Co. One of the first with self rescue tanks. Upgraded with an oval Aluminum Mast, but still with the vintage wooden boom and tiller/rudder. All standing and running rigging in great shape. Very nice Karavan trailer for ease of ramp launching. Motor mount so you can cruise in class (just add long-shaft motor, the one in some photos is NOT included). Two sets of sails and two spinnakers. Wood fine but could use varnish. We enjoyed this boat sailing a fresh water lake and hope you will too. A great boat for cruising. Dry sailed , as we kept the boat on a lift when not in use. An almost-new custom Sailor's Tailor cover included. Boat is in the Elk Rapids, MI area. Asking $2800 / OBO. The boat's overall condition is pretty good. The lighting has been upgraded, and the decking has been replaced. The present owner rebuilt the carburetors and replaced the distributor wires on both engines. The hull has been wet-sanded on an annual basis. The flybridge upholstery is in good condition, with a few minor blemishes. The isinglass was not on the boat when the pictures were taken but will be put on soon. The generator is not running, and the seller says it will need some work. Stock #396794 Very nice F32 with dual helms! Newer 3 battery charger, carburetors wires & distributors! This Trojan F32 has stood the test of time and has a timeless profile. The layout and room aboard provide comfortable accommodations, and the twin Chrysler 318 power plants offer performance and handling. Off the companionway is the forward galley with an enclosed head and stateroom. Bench seating and a table add extra room for meal preparation. The galley also includes a stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer, and microwave. The head has a sink, medicine cabinet, flush toilet, and shower head. The salon area has been replaced by wood decking. Entry into the main bridge is through sliding glass doors, and in this area is a couch, table, and large-screen TV. The flybridge is accessible by a ladder and has a Bimini to keep you out of the sun. This boat is a gem for cruising or just sitting at your boat slip.
