This 1997 Sea Ray Sundancer is in good shape considering age. The seller has added stereo and speakers and the original stereo has been removed. There is also an area at the helm that the old stereo remote was and it is now just an opening. The foredeck has a small crack in it but no signs of water infringement. We were unable to get the generator started during photos. It appears the generator is in need of service. Gelcoat appears in good condition for age. Most of the canvass for the encloser looks to be weathered. Both engines started right up and sounded great. Engine area seems clean and hydrolic steering looks somewhat new. Miami International Boat Show with Bobby Unser February introduced 46 Cougar raceboat. Steve was a late driver change and replaced Dave Bell who had undergone open heart surgery the previous day. They were also on board when the Sun Coast to Gold Coast record (originally established by Kyle Petty) was broken in 1998. That record would be a precursor to the Miami to Nassau to Miami record run which is documented in this video. On Monday morning June 15 1998 the crew of Harry Allen throttle man Steve Kildahl driver Kevin Brown navigator and Rich Quandt crew chief left the Marriot Miami Marina and headed out Government Cut (MacArthur Causeway) to set three new American Power Boat Association world records. Dave Bell Great Lakes Executive Vice President was in the drivers seat with Harry at the throttles Rich Quandt crew chief and navigator and Eric Lavine as the onboard technician. Bob Hallengren of Caterpillar and Bobby Chan of Ringhaver provided valuable assistance in preparing standard production engines for their extended duty. 1998 Spirit of America set 2 world records Tampa to Miami and Miami-Nassau-Miami in May and June. There is also a Norcold Fridge/Freezer that works great and runs very quiet and economically. The dual stainless sinks in the galley make clean up a breeze. The separated head contains Sink and shower and electric macerator toilet that pumps into a 20 gallon holding tank. The boat features dual helms to keep you out in the beautiful sunshine on top of the fly bridge, or out of the foul weather when driving down below. Full gauge clusters and controls at each helm make operating the boat easy. Some comfort features include great 12v and 110v lighting throughout, plenty of outlets, two built in electric heaters for those cooler days on the water, full screened in canvas enclosure over the cockpit, plenty of storage, and huge windows in the salon.
