For full ad go to: https://persephone37.wordpress.com/ Dreaming of living aboard and sailing off to the islands? Persephone is a beautiful, well-maintained, fully equipped, self-sufficient, center cockpit sloop ready for cruising. As a well equipped and comfortable long-term live aboard yacht, she has taken her current owners to the Caribbean and back to upstate New York a number of times- and now she’s ready to take you to your dream destinations. “Persephone” was designed as the perfect coastal cruising vessel… large enough to be very comfortable yet simple enough to be able to sail her by yourself… a perfect combination of comfort and function. Through years of cruising, thoughtful upgrades and enhancements, her current owners have produced an exceptional live aboard vessel. Her extensive upgrades and refurbishing over the years makes her the one of the best equipped cruisers you will find in this price range on the market. Seasoned sailors will immediately appreciate the new Awl Grip on the hull, and on deck the Lewmar 65 winches and deep comfortable center cockpit protected from the elements by a dodger and bimini. Her windlass makes anchoring simple, and after the anchor is down, a cold beverage from the custom refrigerator will be appreciated. Worried about your beverages warming up at anchor? Never fear- her solar panels and wind generator output provides more than enough power. Down below, she has a spacious salon with center folding dinette, 6' headroom that leads forward to a head and V-Berth. LED cabin lights and aluminum Lewmar port lights keep brighten the interior, day or night. Her two staterooms and two heads offers plenty of room, lots of privacy, and an abundance of storage. When the winds dies, she is equipped with a 32 hp Universal diesel engine, 2 fuel tanks with Racor filters, and two 100 gallon water tanks. Main Salon ***Pictures Below***** The main salon features settees, port and starboard, and a centerline table with folding leaves and storage. There are plenty of opening ports, and an overhead hatch to provide wonderful ventilation. There is a navigator’s station aft of the starboard settee and the galley is aft of the port settee. A large custom made marquetry sailboat scene graces the forward bulkhead to port. Master Stateroom The O’Day 37 has a unique aft cabin master stateroom entered from the cockpit. It is completely private with a wonderful queen size custom pillow-top spring mattress berth. There is a hanging locker to port with storage shelves adjacent to the locker and berth. Additional storage is provided by more shelves and drawers to starboard. Five opening ports, together with the aft cabin companionway, provide wonderful ventilation. A private ensuite head contains a manual head and a vanity sink as well as a single opening port and overhead hatch. Guest Stateroom The guest stateroom is forward in the forepeak and consists of a comfortable v-berth with filler, storage under and in drawers and on shelves. An overhead hatch and an opening port allows for great ventilation. There is a full-size hanging locker aft of this cabin and opposite the head. Galley The spacious well laid out u-shaped galley is to port forward of the companionway and opposite the navigation station. It features 2 deep sinks with a butcher block lid, 3 burner stove with oven, a microwave, and plenty of easy access storage. The large, sensible, easy access refrigerator/freezer has a stainless steel holding plate and is just aft of the navigation table. Cockpit By far, the most comfortable cockpit you’ll find. Deep coamings with just the right angle to sit back and enjoy the sailing or the sunset. The teak table provides room for entertaining and dining all under the shade of the bimini. 2 huge lockers provides storage for everything! The helm has superior visibility while underway. “Persephone” 1981 O’Day Center Cockpit Sloop Builder: O’Day Designer: C. Raymond Hunt Dimensions LOA: 37' LWL: 30’4? Beam: 11’3? I bought this boat brand new in 2013 and with full factory equipments that factory had to offer at the time. My wife does not like it so I ended up buying another 24' jet boat and I have to sell this one. It is currently at my slip at Washington Sailing Marina. I only sailed for one hour with my instructor and used the motor approximately less than 3 hours to run around a little bit and that was it. I spent most my time on my 24' jet boat. I enjoyed the time with this sailboat mostly on installing electronic equipments, stereo system, bow thruster. That's right, I installed Sideshift bow thruster to help make it much more maneuverable and easier to moving in and out of slip under any condition. Sideshift is the only best company making add-on bow thruster, a very high quality thruster. You can visit them at www.sideshift.com. Black hull is rare and it is awesome to look at. In fact, I have many good comments from bystanders. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this boat. You can have a peace of mind and never have to wonder if anything is wrong with it; just like buying a used car and wonder if it has ever been in an accident. I also have this boat listed locally, so I preserve the right to end this listing early if someone bought it. If you are in the market for an excellent used Macgregor sailboat, then this is it. My lost if your gain. Please make an offer only you are serious about it then we can arrange a sea-trial; otherwise, lets not waste each other time. My contact is [email protected]. Here the list of items on this boat, I might miss a few thing. sideshift bow thruster SS230 serie. Visit www.sideshift.com for more details on this awesome bow thruster. “Firefly” A refitted 1974 Sea Sprite 23 Weekender with 2009 Triad Trailer and 2013 Honda 5 hp 4 stroke outboard. A very unique boat with thoughtful and well-engineered upgrades by an experienced single handed sailor. Equipped with only top of the line hardware and equipment from Harken, Lewmar, Spinlock, Quantum, Doyle, Dwyer, Spartan Marine Bronze, Newfound Metals, Waterline Systems. No reasonable expense spared. This is a great sailing boat. I am only putting her on the market because I am interested in buying a larger sailboat to do some extended cruising. All of the really difficult repair and upgrade jobs have been done. All work is photo documented. I have archived my Notes/material lists/photos and will copy to a DVD for the new owner. The boat comes complete and ready to sail away. I estimate that it would take several years and even more money than I have invested currently, to reproduce her at this point. You will be entirely self-sufficient from the boatyards if you wish. Launch, haul and store her yourself. Complete boat/motor/trailer package with many extras including winter cover system and custom mast raising system. She is practically turn-key and would only merit some discretionary expenditure at this point. $12,500 or near reasonable offer for the package Highlights: · 1974 Sea Sprite 23 Weekender (with self-bailing cockpit and bridgedeck), Hull # 537, built by Wickford Shipyard. Rig by Dwyer. All standing and running rigging, spreaders, jumpers, replaced 2009/2010.· Custom features not found on any other SS 23 include a custom tabernacle mast step, A-frame mast raising system, custom chainplate upgrade using Spartan Marine bronze chainplates, NewFound Metals bronze opening portlights, new modern bow and stern pulpits by Waterline Systems, custom bow anchor roller sprit, lazarette deck/locker refit, numerous other bronze hardware by Spartan. · Soft spots under mast step, under port aft stanchion base and in lazarette area all recored/redone in 2009/2010. · Complete deck refit, all hardware replaced and rebedded, new full pulpit/lifeline system, new toerails, deck/hull joint, new Lewmar Ocean 40 foredeck hatch, and Interlux Interdeck beige paint; all redone in 2010.· 2009 Triad Trailers custom float off trailer, single axle, with winch ladder stand on front, spare wheel/tire, pair of 10000 lb straps, misc pads, blocks, ladder, etc for towing and parking. Trailer refit in 2013 with a new Tie Down Engineering surge disc brake system, disc brake surge coupler, chains, brake lines, front wheel jack. · 2013 Honda 5 hp 4 stroke long shaft outboard with low pitch prop, tank, gas line. Under 20 hours use, stored in heated storage in winter. · Quantum main (2009) with single reef, full top batten, partial battens, loose footed. Quantum hank on jib is 120%, older, but in decent shape. 2012 Doyle asymmetrical spinnaker. Sailrite sailcover.· Gear included: Plastimo compass on cabin bulkhead, 15 lb CQR plow anchor with 15 feet of chain, 100’ rode, cockpit mounted bilge pump w/handle, 2 lifejackets, safety flare kit, fire extinguisher, lifesling, 4 throwable cushions, 2 fenders, assorted dock lines, boat hook, Abus bronze combo padlocks for cabin and outboard (plus locking cable for outboard), halyard organizer bag mounted in cockpit, teak winch handle holder, winch handle, small canvas gear organizer bags in cabin.· Custom winter cover system from Kover Klamps includes conduit frame, clamps, cover, cover clips and assorted line and padding to setup and cover her for the winter. All labeled, with some photos. As of the time of this writing (Sep 2014) there are three ( discretionary spend ) projects remaining on my list, that I would undertake if I were to keep Firefly. The topsides gelcoat is “tired.” I clean with “On and Off” stain remover each season, then compound and wax. It looks ok but to really make her mint I would repaint her. I didn’t completely finish the interior last winter; ie the cutouts from the sink and icebox module should be glassed over. While she doesn’t need it, I have considered that a jib roller furler would be a nice addition (along with a new jib) Lastly, this summer was the second season on the current coat of bottom paint, which is showing some flaking so she will probably need a fresh coat for 2015. Detailed year by year project refit commentary and additional photos or other details available on request. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

Accommodations S-2 quality, famous for the quality of their boats. A rare center cockpit 30 footer. A great layout, and a quality boat. As you board the boat, you enjoy first the full canvas enclosure of the cockpit. Almost new, and custom designed by Boat Tailors, it surrounds the cockpit with windows and screens to provide all of the options and protection that you could ask. A great space that adds greatly to the usable space on the boat, Then going below, you notice the traditional look of the newer dark blue upholstery and the quality of the wood work. Starting forward, there is a vee berth. The vee berth, with the filler cushion, is partially open to the salon with a partial bulkhead. There is a large overhead opening hatch, and 2 opening ports. Each side has a shelf for your glasses etc., and reading lights on both sides. Next is the salon, with a centerline folding table. Both sides of the salon have shelves and storage behind the settees, and more storage under the seats. Moving aft along the starboard side, you find the head. It is a amazing head with a separate shower and tub stall (yes, an actual small tub). Roomy and light and very usable. The head extends aft past the companionway. Forward and to starboard of the companionway, we start with the galley. The galley extends along the port side of the passageway to the aft cabin. There is a 2 burner stove top, a S.S. sink and then the icebox. There is currently a microwave on the counter, and the current owner has put a small refrigerator next to it, on what is / was a seat for the nav table. Across from the galley and under the cockpit is the engine, with a completely removeable top, and 2 side panels for ease of access. As you progress down the passage, there are hanging lockers and lot of built-in storage along the side. The aft cabin itself is surprisingly large and airy. Lots of opening ports on 3 sides, plus a large opening hatch overhead. Generous berth, and more storage. Very comfortable cabin. Great condition! We purchased a larger sailboat, time to move the Mac on to its next owner! See pictures below description. ALL pictures of the actual hull for sale As you may know Macgregor is no longer building sailboats. The new company Tattoo Yachts, is also no longer producing a 26 foot sailboat. The supplies of these boats are limited to the boats that are already made. This is a perfect opportunity to purchase one of the best condition 26M sailboats out there. The trailer is the superior (despite popular belief) steel trailer. (later models have an aluminum frame, but still have a STEEL tongue, axle, bunk supports which all rust/fail as well). The trailer with this boat was professionally rebuilt with a 1/4" thick steel tongue, rustproofed on the inside (where ALL the Macgregor trailers fail first) and painted with rustproofing paint. There is a new surge brake actuator, as well as new brake calipers and brake pads. The brake line is made of stainless steel. The lighting system is newly wired with LED lights. New winch, winch strap, new security chain, new tongue winch. Bunk boards rebuilt as well. The factory trailer is superior to many aftermarket ones, as it allows the lowest trailering height (allowing launching in shallow ramps) AND a front ladder to dramatically ease launchingLots of well thought out upgrades!SailsNEW (used 1 season) MainsailGeneoa with UV strip sewn in (cleaned, serviced, folded)Roller furler with line led aft with cleat for Geneoaboots installed on spreader endsSail handlingTopling lift installedMain halyard led aftStock rotating mast with locking pin (for trailering or running down wind)ElectronicsGarmin 440s GPS Plotter and depth sounder (shoot through hull) included/installedStandard Horizon VHF radio with DSC - hooked up to GPSWired remote VHF Mic in cockpitmast top mounted VHF antennaElectrical8 circuit Blue Sea breaker panellight control subpanel2 Marine Deep Cycle batteries (starting and house) - Group 24Battery switches with Automatic Charging relay (automatically charges bothbatteries, but keeps them separated when not being charged!)110 Inverter with plug12v plugs in cockpit and cabinLightingStandard macgregor lightsAnchor light on mast topforedeck lightcockpit light under consoleHead5 gallon portable headGalleyOrigo Alcohol stoveelectric fresh water water pump with 50 gallon flexible tank and transom fill.Large cooler with tiedown2 piece table, doubles as a cockpit tableInteriorStock Macgregor cushionsNew custom carpetstorage bins and pocketsSeveral grab handles mounted throughout the interiorSolar vent fan in foredeck hatchStainless Steel hatch holder2 fire extinguishersCockpitCustom Stern rail seats installedCustom rudder control line with blocks to reduce lifting effort !Upgraded steering cablesLarge Ritchie compassCustom made, 2 piece hatchboards with screens and shades (in addition to factory solid hatchboard)Custom transom mesh guard (keep stuff from falling out the back!)Transom swim laddergrab rail mounted on hatchEngineRECENTLY SERVICED - carbs rebuilt/sync'ed; impeller replaced.Turnkey ready to go!50 HP Honda outboard with engine steering linkageupgraded throttle cables12 Gallon fuel tankCanvasCustom padded lifeline coversCustom Sailcover3 Custom made sheetbagscustom chart pockets in cockpit6' Bimini covers the entire cockpitMast handling:Mast raising system with brake winch with removable baby staysPVC roller furler support for traileringquick release removable spreadersOthermast top mounted windexFlag pole with flag for sternburgee flag block on spreader with stay mounted cleat2:1 blocks installed for daggerboard raising'Jam' cleat installed for easier daggerboard handlingCustom/improved rudder raising system with pop-up cleats and jamb cleatsAnchorDelta plow200' anchor rode6' chainTrailerNew tounge winchnew surge brake2" trailer ball requiredNew stainless steel brake lineNew tires and wheelsLED lights Please note, these pictures were taken over the years.
