1988 Hunter 23 Blue Heron is nice second-owner 23 Hunter with tiller steering, wing keel, main sail, jib with furler, and a cabin with a forward V-berth, port and starboard settees, porta-potti, pull-out sink and an alcohol single-burner stove top. She has 3 Barient 8P winches, Schafer traveler, and a cockpit that can accommodate 4-6 people. Her auxiliary power is a 2013 Tohatsu 6-HP outboard. A launch is included in the sale. No trailer.

1988 Hunter 23 This freshwater only Hunter 23 is well above average in overall condition and well above any other Hunter 23 that you will find. Extremely well maintained. This is a Hunter 23 that you can take pride in owning. Merri-Lee is a good performer and will give you hours and hours of enjoyable sailing.Many sailors started with the Hunter 23 and all will tell you that the boat delivered everything they needed in a trailerable, manageable boat. The shallow wing keel not only allows you to get her on the trailer easily, but allows the boat to sail upwind nicely and even do that in less than 3 feet of water. Great for gunk holing. The Hunter 23 is a twenty three-foot sloop, which weighs about 2450 lbs empty. Total trailering weight is around 4500 lbs., which allows many SUV's to pull it. It has an eight-foot beam and a mast height of about thirty-three feet. The boat has a fixed wing keel which draws about 2' 3". This particular boat has the wing keel which is ideal for the shallow lakes, as well as making for an easy to trailer boat. I preferred this boat to similar boats such as the Catalina and O'day because of the extensive use of teak in the cabin. The joinery in the cabin creates a very inviting atmosphere instead of the starkness of white gelcoat that is present in most of the small production cruisers. Overall it is in very good condition for a boat of its age. No water damage is noted and the gelcoat is in good shape. I no longer have time to use this boat: Mainsail, Doyle 2 full length battens, 2 partial length battens, with two reef points. Other equipment: 150% Genoa 110 JibAll cushions in cabin in good shape, there is wear on the salon cushions.Danforth anchor and rode. Wing keel draws 27", Bottom is clean with fresh bottom paint - this boat easily exceeds her rated hull speed! Trailer in excellent condition, has tongue extension, new tires, 2" ball, side guides for easy launches & retrieves, Bearing buddy grease fittings on hubs. Interior is excellent with all new factory cushions & a newer rarely used port-a-potty. Nice single burner stove. VHF Radio. Main sail, jib & new 135% Genoa jib from Ballard Sails. Later model Nissan 4hp, 4 stroke (oil injected, not mixed) long shaft Outboard w 3/gallon gas tank. No soft spots, blisters or rot anywhere, All running & standing rigging is sound.
