In general, this vessel appears to be in serviceable condition. However, it has been on the hard for about five years. The current owner purchased it just before COVID began and was never able to get back in the US (from Canada) to sail her. The exact sail inventory is unknown. There are lots of sails stored in the quarter berth but they have not been taken out to inventory and their condition is not been verified. Prospective buyers should depend solely on their own expertise and experience, or that of a qualified marine surveyor, when determining the fitness of this vessel for their purposes. The boat is in average condition for it's age and all electronics and systems are fully functioning. The Yanmar 12 HP diesel runs well but the boat is currently overpropped, which will need to be resolved for the boat to run motor near hull speed. The layout makes the boat extremely easy to sail with the in cockpit mainsheet and traveler. Headed through the companionway, you enter the salon with a L-shaped galley to starboard including a sink, deep icebox and a gimbled stove. To port is a large quarter berth which and chart table. Midships has opposing settees with storage behind both. The table can fold all out of the way, or can comfortably seat 2 or 4. The port settee also folds out into a double berth. 1979 Hunter 30, The older Hunters designed by John Cherubini were some of the best production pocket cruisers built back in the late 70s and early 80s. Strong solid fiberglass construction, excellent wide open interior layout, easy to sail and using very little diesel fuel when the engine is needed.
