I bought this boat from the 3rd owner. The boat has a rich history of fishing the Mako Marine family Tournaments and has made several crossings to the Bahamas to fish Walkers Cay. I have a large folder with repair and upgrade information from the last 2 owners also. I have a PDF version as well as hard copy of the most current survey. The boat has had 200 hours of runtime since last survey. It runs out very well, and my wife and I have had many a fun outing on it. This past Monday we had it out in lake Erie 20 miles. During the day we moved several time to finally get our limits of lake perch and then ran in. Never a moments trouble. Top speed on this boat is right at 37mph measured by GPS. This is at 4400 rpms. Swinging a Acme 1774 prop. I always cruise at 26mph and 3200 rpms or less to conserve fuel and stress on the engine. This was how the previous owners instructed it be ran and I believe its spot on.You can let go of the wheel and it does not wander left or right. It has effortless hydraulic steering in both the upper and lower stations. Currently the upper station is not mounted. To mount the station it takes 2 men and about 2 hours. It is hinged and can be lowered for transport. There are 6 wires, and 3 hoses, and 2 cables to hook up for it to be ready. There is a temporary repaired crack in the aluminum as indicated by the picture. We had no use to run the upper station here on the Great Lakes, and it tows better without it mounted. We can put the station in the back of your pickup or up in the boat for transport to its new home. The indicators on the dash do not however work..... 5 Working horn and lights..... 6 USB charging station for phones..... 7 Working For and Aft automatic bilge pumps...... 8 Working blower..... 9 Working courtesy lights..... 10 Working for and aft spreader lights..... 12 2 charged fire extinguishers.... 13 Left and Right outriggers and equipment included.... 14 Removable fighting chair..... 15 aluminum and canvas sunshade for upper station.... 16 Many rod holders for both fishing and transport..... 17 anchor and rode.... 18 Bumpers and lines.... 19 Heavy Duty Shorlander galvanized trailer tows well at 70 MPH if required..... 20 40 gallon bait/live well in the transom. Manually filled...... About 10 years ago the boat had a new engine installed, and both gas tanks replaced. I inspected both tanks and they are corrosion free, and the rubber hoses look to be in good shape. I installed new fuel fills this winter when I replaced all the gunnel and transom trim wood. The wood was replaced with mahogany and bedded with epoxy and screwed down with stainless fasteners. I also bedded the tower with 3M 4200 when re-installing it after the wood project. The upholstery is all original. It is not in the best of shape, but its hard to imagine a boat this old having the original factory cushions and bolsters. Gusto has been well loved over the years. You will notice in many of the pictures I have a trolling motor installed on the transom. We troll at 1.7-2.0 here on the Great Lakes and the main engine will only go down to about 2.4. Not the case for salt water fishing at all. I removed the kicker motor and bracket this past week. It is NOT included in the sale. Included is a very heavy duty Shorlander Galvanized tandem trailer with working brakes on all 4 wheels. This is a roller trailer that pulls great and loads and unloads very easily. New winch and strap this past season. Lights work. Ohio trailers are sold with a bill of sale. Boat has a clear title in my name. " There's a reason the TBX (Tourna-ment Boat Extraordinaire) is called what it's called. It's a blue-collar skier's boat, built to stand up to the rigorous demands of purists who want consistent pulls, dead-on tracking and never a single concession from the boat. The model name isn't too far from the truth. New American Skier president and former WaterSki Magazine test team member Ron Tanis knows how to build that kind of boat; he was a vice president of Skier during the company's heydays in the 1980s. He also knows what our test team skiers look for in a boat -- which just happens to be what the majority of consumers look for as well. Is it any wonder that he's hit the nail on the head with the reintroduction of the tournament-designed TBX? Not really. An engineer by trade, Tanis left no stone unturned in the TBX's construction. The TBX rides on a semi-modified vee with 4 degrees of deadrise aft. It uses an all-composite construction, so there's no wood in the structural sections of the boat. Excuse the use of the superlatives, but the TBX is one extraordinary slalom boat. Our skiers raved about the boat's strong, consistent pull through the course and about the low, soft and flat slalom wakes all the way into world-record territory. At one line length (35 off) they remarked: "It's flat, soft and there's no spray." At another (28 off), they matched it up with some of the best slalom boats in the world. This boat now certainly belongs in that class." (Waterski Magazine 06/14/2001) For Sale is such a 2001 American Skier/Elan TBX Pro inboard ski boat. It is equipped with a 320 hp TBI motor, bimini top, Perfect Pass speed control, heater, ski pylon, teak swim platform, mooring cover, and stainless four blade prop. It comes with a single axle trailer with surge brakes and fold up tongue. Some of the interior has been replaced and that which has not, does show some wear. The hull shows some dock rash and scratches. It is rated as a 20 foot boat. Perfect Pass meter shows about 320 hr. Boat runs well and has a great ski wake. Summer of 2014 the water pump, starter, bilge blower and spark plugs were replaced. Fall of 2014 the oil and filters were changed. The boat is ready for a summer of great skiing. The boat will come with misc life jackets, slalom ski, set of double skies, beginner wakeboard, and two ballast bags with pump. I am the third owner of boat with verifying documentation back to the MSO. Selling due a lack of interest from the family in skiing any more. Boat is not in perfect condition due to minor cosmetic issues (worn upholstery and hull scratches ) so it is priced well below NADA book value.
