This Islander 36 was used as a live-aboard for a while. The seller reports it's a good boat with a strong motor. The bottom was painted around 2018. It's unknown what year the Westerbeke was installed. The owner indicates the keel bolts and mast footing were epoxied in for corrosion resistance. For drinking water, there's a tankless reverse osmosis system, and the head has a newer 9-gallon holding tank. The Nav system will need a new display for the wind speed, depth meter. With some TLC, this Islander 36 can be brought back to her original glory. Stock #338252 1974 Islander 36, a good boat with a Westerbeke 44a 4-cylinder diesel inboard. Whether you're looking for a weekender on the water or planning on doing more serious sailing, the Islander 36 is ready for your new adventures. With her large cockpit and roomy interior, you can invite your friends along. Her 4 berths make her capable of sleeping up to 6 people. Two in the V-berth, 2 in the fold-out berth to port, the settee to starboard and the quarter berth aft makes 6. If you do end up with a boat full of people, you can unfold and extend the salon table to accommodate a meal or cards for everybody. Or, folded away, she offers a lot of interior room. The enclosed head has a toilet and sink, and the galley is a nice place to prepare snacks with the 3-burner stove and refrigerator. Just in front of the aft quarter berth is the Nav station. The engine is the 40 HP Westerbeke diesel, which is plenty big for the job. It hasn't been used a lot. Mainly to get into and out of the slip. Her sails consist of the main and the rolling furler jib. The previous owner left a few more sails onboard and we're not sure exactly what they are.

This Islander is in very good overall condition with serviceable sails, solid rigging, and a 20 HP diesel engine that runs great. The boat is dry inside with no leaks. She was inspected in March of 2023 along with getting minor hull repairs, new bottom paint, new cutlass bearing, and shaft stuffing. She needs some cosmetic attention such as new topside nonskid paint, refinishing of the topside wood trim, and cockpit teak deck. The inside is in good shape but ready for some upgrades to the new owner's liking. Stock #359748 Islander 36 Ready to Sail with Recent Bottom Pant, Cutlass Bearing, and Shaft Stuffing This 1972 Islander 36 is ready for a new Capitan. She has a lot to like if you are looking for a nice sized sloop with a large cockpit with room for 6 to sail comfortably. The boat needs to be sold, so bring all reasonable offers. The boat was valued by a professional surveyor at $23,000 in March of 2023. She is well outfitted with a Lazy Jack system for the main sail including a Stack Pack, a Schafer furling jib, a solid boom vang, a hydraulic backstay adjuster, stainless steel rod standing rigging, and with lines rigged for single-handed sailing. The helm is equipped with a stainless-steel wheel, compass, folding cockpit table, cup holders, and instruments including depth and speed indicators. Inside the cabin you will find a galley containing a stainless-steel sink with a new hand pump faucet, and a large ice box. The old gimble stove has been replaced with a refrigerator and microwave. The cabin sole has laid teak, and a settee on both port and starboard bulkheads with a retractable table next to the mast that creates a large living space when not in use. The starboard settee converts into two bunks. There is a quarter berth to port aft and a large V-berth rounds out sleeping capacity for 6 adults. The Islander is a popular model of sailboats between 1970 and 1987. They are highly sought after and the even have a club of owners. This one is ready for cruising the bay, taking overnight trips to your favorite location, or sailing up and down the coastal waters.

It is strong, and only visible from inside the cabinet.  Deck is clean but could use a coat of paint, or not. There is crazing on the deck. The Amercoat 450h I put on the topsides covered all the crazing. Nothing memtioned above will effect how the boat sails, she is ready to go. She's an older boat, so you can expect some maintnance. She sails like a dream. I36 has been circumnavigated, so it will take you where you want to go. my boat is pretty much ready, it could use some solar panels; but I've finished all of the work that needs to be done out of the water. she's a great live aboard, and capable sailor. fiberglass floor in the interior, which I love because you can just wash her down and no wood to deal with. The boat has minimal teak, or wood which equals less bright work. I inherited a boat from my dad when he passed away. I've been working on boats for a few years now, with dreams of sailing around surfing. One thing I didn't take into consideration; I'm finally almost ready to go,

1972 Islander M4-30 The Islander 36 is a great design by Alan Gurney. Scenario sails like a dream and was recognized as one of the top ten cruising boats of all time by "Cruising World". The interior is rich and comfortable with teak and oak woodwork. There is a double berth forward with enclosed head between the forward cabin and main salon. There are two settees across from each other. One is a double. Aft to port is a quarter berth, so sleeping is for 6. Headroom is plenty. The salon table uniquely folds away out of sight when not in use but opens to a large eating surface area accessible from each settee. One half can drop down so that the table is partially up, so you can more easily walk forward to the head or forward cabin. Look no further! Scenario is one of the best cruising boats of this era. Sail her away today!
