Huge for idling in one spot, tight space maneuvers/docking under low thrust. Jet boats are notorious for lousy low speed maneuvers and not being able to sit in one spot (engine on=thrust) with the motor running. Also more nimble at high speeds. Runs flatter in the water so you can more easily see over the bow at high speeds unlike prop boats. -Scarab can operate in 14 inches of water. The impeller shaft is sealed to stop debris from sucking into the intake and wrapping around the drive shaft (major disadvantage of other jet boats). Water plants get sucked up and shredded back out without stalling the engine. No propeller to strike bottom/debris/manatees/ swimmers etc... -Engine cooled by sealed antifreeze coolant system (unlike Yamaha) that does not come in contact with seawater (cools via heat exchanger like a radiator on your car). Seawater only pulled in and pushed out on the exhaust side for engine cooling. Much less damage to engine components over time from corrosion and easier to flush the dirty water out when out of the water/on trailer.
