Of the nearly 400 small, fast , versatile wooden Patrol Torpedo boats which were built around WWII, only a handful survive to the day. PT 48 is the only remaining 77' Elco PT-Boat and a member of the heroic WWII "Mosquito Fleet". With its stylish look, cold molded cabins, reverse S bend stem, it was once of the first successful ELCO designs.PT 48 has arguably spent more time in the combat zome than any other PT boats in existence from October 11, 1942 to August 7, 1944 and is officially credited with sinking IJN TERUZUKI. A combat highlight, while on patrol with PT 109 (led by John F. Kennedy), PT 48 was damaged by high seas and rescued by PT 109 and the use of a hand pump. The rich battle record of PT 48 is an intrinsic part of US history. Early after her 1941 launch and shortly shortly after Pearl HArbor, PT 48 aggressively attacked enemy vessels in the Solomon Islands, Guadalcanal, and Funuati. This vessel is not currently running and is a great restoration candidate.Serious inquiries only. Price upon request.

Google Turbocraft and learn about these first American Jet Boats. Real innovators for the time and very exclusive. John F. Kennedy owned one. Nikita Kruschev ordered one but may never have recieved it due to embargo. James Bond's girlfriend had a Turbocraft in the movies. Supposed to run in three inches of water but six is more realistic. Look for pictures on google of prototypes running the rapids of the Colorado River. Has a three stage Hamilton Pump which is a premium brand even on new Jet Boats. Powered by famous Intercepter marine power. Ideal restoration project but could be usable with much patina with relatively little financial investment. The transom is rock solid. The floors are not. Floor will need fiberglass repair or possibly replaced with wood. The stringers look good but probably need reinforcement around the motor mounts at least. All of the wood trim that touched the floor is bad also. The upholstery is brittle and cracked from age. The hull has a repair on the bottom about a foot in diameter--see pics. Apparently someone tried out the shallow water performance and failed. The repair looks adequate but amateur. Engine turns over by hand and looks super clean and low hours from looking in the oil fill hole in the rocker cover. The starter was bad but a rebuilt one is included not installed. The generator will probably need rebuilt or replaced. It is not currently installed. It appears to have been removed for access to the starter. It was a barn find for me years about eight years ago and it came home to my barn for another long slumber. The last sticker on the boat is 1993 I think but one for 1995 is in the dash. The jet drive had a crack when I bought it and that is why I think the previous owner parked it. I had the drive housing welded by a pro. See pic. I can text a closeup if needed. Also, I put new bearings in the front drive housing while it was out. Impellers and wear wings looked great. Drive is installed in boat but intake grate and driveshaft are not hooked up so you can turn the drive and inspect it thoroughly. The carbs are dual Carter sidedrafts and are in need of rebuild from sitting. Parts are available as they were also used on early Corvettes and the Corvair Turbo. The gas tank will be in need of cleaning or possible lining or replacement. The steering turns free. The throttle cable moves free but is unhooked at the carb linkage. The cable to the spotlight is stuck. The trailer will need new tires and bearings and lights. Ideally it would be hauled to its new home on a flatbed. I am capable of installing new parts for a fee if absolutely necessary. Boat is sold as is where is. I will answer questions to the best of my ability at 256-Eight Four Six-0831. Call or Text. You are bidding on a classic. It is not as easy to repair as your lawnmower. Don't bid unless you are prepared to deal with such challenges or have someone to do so for you.

NO RESERVE WHAT AN ADVENTURE!!! CLASSIC 1958 CHRIS CRAFT 17 ft on CUSTOM TRAILER Enter the "Trop Mignon" which means "Too Cute". Originally from Michigan. Clean title. Now in Vermont so with VT letters - fully registered through 2014 on a permanent custom trailer with recently adjusted axle, to make it a pleasure to trailer. She is a gorgeous 17 foot 1958 marine plywood Chris Craft boat that has had extensive restoration over the last several years. Thru hull exhaust. Appears to have been an early prototype because she is configured as a Sportsman with chrome everywhere. Owned by a meticulous collector. Stored indoors always on custom trailer, except for Summers. Great cruising this season. PHOTOS IN THE WATER ARE FROM THIS SEASON! Restored professionally - near mint top deck ($7,500 job) and sides ($5,000). Bottom has had 5200 added in spots that were needed. Interior has excellent leather patina including all functional chrome gauges. Hairline crack in very solid block does not impair performance. New carb, new points, new plugs. Water pump just gone thru and refurbished. Beautiful brass propeller. Beautiful split windshield, new gas tank (plastic) under two stern seats. Chris Craft bow flag. USA flag for stern with built in stern light. Professional transom letter job. Professional use of marine screws where needed. All gauges were removed, rechromed or polished as needed, and returned to dash during top deck restoration. Beautiful bow lights. Rumbles in the water like a good ol' Riva ought. Attracts attention everywhere. Trailer is custom and has a vintage look that matches the color and patina of the boat. Have towed over 1k miles without issue. Tires are fine, bearings on left side need to be repacked. Will try to get to that this week. Has an off the shelf canvas cover in blue with lattice. A thrill to drive and the only way to see the lake and mountains the way they were seen in the 1950s. Auto bilge fully functional. Extremely fuel efficient. Cruises at 2500-3000 rpms. Engine cover is made of oak with a leather top - may want to redo in mahogany. Will eventually want to add fiberglass strips to the seams on the bottom. The original fiberglass over marine wood was a new design that could be improved by reglassing the seams to over the ribs. Small crack port-side windshield just happened due to rain gathering and making cover too tight - easy fix. Horn is LOUD. Spot light in chrome is decorative only. Original inline 6 engine fully functional at 80lbs pressure. One area on side was just expertly repaired using hand planed mahogany painted over with 3M-5200. Needs a painted stripe. Overall (+++) Beautiful boat that an enthusiast would enjoy restoring to its show potential, or just having a cruising boat that looks like $1 Million! Attending to the moderate needs described above would bring it to a much higher value should you ever wish to sell her. No Spam please: feel free to call afternoons EST with any questions: 802-777-3317. Seller reserves the right to end auction early, or to sell outside of eBay. Selling AS IS and WHERE IS with no warranty implied or expressed. Freshwater use only. Has been a thrill to own. Grabs attention everywhere. Sits low to the water with the thru-hull exhaust that rumbles so splendidly. Carves through the water. Feels like you are a Kennedy. Only thing missing is a cigar. But she even has a built-in original cigar lighter.
