For your consideration is a 1950 Chris Craft 23' Holiday project boat. First the bad:This boat will require extensive wood replacement including a new bottom, decks and some side planking. Not to mention an engine rebuild, interior and rechroming. To put it bluntly, it's rough. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Now the good:It has most of its original hardware, including the expensive stuff like windshield, large deck vents, column shift, lifting eye and cleat, and the Iva-Lite. The rub rails are all there as is the exhaust pipe (kinked but repairable), prop and shaft, rudder etc. Also included is the original Chris Craft MBL 158 hp engine. Other than it not being seized, the condition is unknown. The exhaust manifold is cracked on the lower aft edge. The monel gas tank is there too andf in good condition. I have the gauges and panel and side vents also There were only 88 of these made in the early 50s and very few have survived. This one is hull # H - 23 - 016. She would make a great family boat or cocktail cruiser ( It has a built in liquor cabinet from the factory) when completed with its high freeboard and 8 ft wide beam. The MBL engine is said to provide plenty of power and good maneuverability for a boat of this size given its relatively shallow draft. Here's your chance to own a wonderful rare boat that deserves to be saved for future generations. I just don't have the time or resources now. Trailer is NOT included The boat is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if it sells. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions since I can explain better than I can type. Evening Phone (203) 484-4896 ask for Mike

For your consideration for the next seven days is a 1947 Chris Craft Special Runabout. Hull # R -16 -796 . This boat has undergone a complete restoration over the past several years and has won Best In Show awards at both shows it attended. First, the hull: She has a new 5200 style bottom with the best quality Bruynzeel Okume marine plywood available for inner layer and clear white cedar outer planking. The bottom framing was replaced using white oak as was original. All fastenings are new USA made silicon bronze. Now hardware:The hardware is all original to this boat and has been rechromed. All rubrails have all been straightened and polished. Fasteners are new, chromed brass, Frearson head screws on the chrome hardware and stainless Frearson, yes stainless Frearson ( I had them made) on the stainless rubrails, cutwater and flat trim. Engine: The engine is the original one to the boat. It's a Chris Craft Model K, 95 hp, 6 cylinder, based on the Hercules QXD series. The original pistons were cleaned and reused. If it ain't broke..... Valves and seats were ground and reused. Valve guides were replaced. Carburetor was rebuilt too. Upholstery:All new upholstery using top quality marine vinyl to correct factory dimensions. Original style Kapok filling in cushionsNew correct style linoleum flooring for originality. Electrical:All new cloth covered wire matched to the factory original colors and sizes. Original gauges all function properly as does the original horn. New bilge pump.
