Temporary Price Drop, for end of Summer Sale! Museum quality restoration of a classic "Down East" lobster boat. It features modern upgrades while keeping its classical tradition. From stem to stern nothing has been left out in this labor of love. This boat is capable of easily being road transported on a standard adjustable transport trailer. This brings us to the newly installed diesel Volvo Kad43 engine, with modern dripless bearings replacing the original stuffing box. A new "blue printed" 4 blade bronze propeller, bearings and transmission make this boat extremely reliable. Cruising speed is a comfortable and speedy 15-20 knots, all while being very fuel efficient, allowing the enjoyment to be quite economical. Adding to the modern upgrades are the following: Raymarine electronics package, HD fish finder, HD radar, and HD GPS, all shown on a large - high resolution LCD screen. Perfectly installed and professionally tuned LED lights in the; cabin, deck, and pilot house, allow for a gorgeous look and high energy efficiency. Not to be left out is the top of the line JL audio sound system, which has enough power to almost certainly make you the loudest and best sounding boat on the water. Stainless steel is used extensively throughout, I.E the anchor windless, stainless steel plow anchor, rub rails, storage consoles, fishing rod holders, etc. For convenience an electric flush head with holding tank is installed, along with a salt water wash down, live bait well and oversized battery bank for extended cruising. This one of a kind vessel was originally manufactured by Baum Boats of Maine in 1960. It was used as a commercial fishing vessel in Maine, right up until the restoration, starting in 2012. This boat has seen a generous budget for the entire restoration and life since. It is constantly maintained by a professional crew, from my larger yacht. This special boat catches everyone's eye. Wherever it goes it's always the center of attention. The asking price is a fraction of what the restoration cost alone. Contact me with any questions. The boat is in the water, residing at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As mentioned above, It can easily be road transported anywhere in North America.

SLIDESHOW OF ALL PICS HERE: http://s249.photobucket.com/user/captpjt/slideshow/BHM%2025 Up for sale is a unique downeast fiberglass launch perfect for the discerning gentleman, family boat or fishing as well. This very simple but very well constructed vessel was finished by the quality Maine craftsmen at Farrins boat shop in 1984. ( http://www.farrinsboatshop.com/ ) This should speak volumes for the type of quality and pride this boat was built with. The custom finish shops in Maine are not the same and Farrins is one of the best and held in high regard. The vessel was originally built for a a navy officer who, after leaving the US Navy, attended Harvard and became a prominent patent lawyer. This was his baby for most of its life until his passing. The original BMW diesel engine was proven unreliable and was subsequently removed and replaced around 2004 in favor of the ultra reliable and fuel sipping Westerbeke 82B. This engine now has about 315 original hours since being installed and is in excellent condition. This will move this boat at about 12 knots ( reported by previous Owner). With its full bow, full keel and high freeboard this vessel will take you just about anywhere and get you home safely and efficiently. This boat is a large 25' and pics are deceptive as to its true size. The hull is in excellent original condition and it is very clear this boat was very well taken care of throughout its life. The boat is ROCK SOLID EVERYWHERE! No soft spots, no rot. The boat was built RIGHT to last, and was very well cared for. The boat had a head ( marine toilet) installed all the way forward (pictured) , however this area is meant primarily for storage. This was not original to boat and I cannot understand why it was installed by previous Owner so it was removed last week in favor of gaining more storage area. . Please keep in mind that from deck to the overhead in the forward storage compartment is approximately 4' so this is not an area where you ( most people) could stand up. This is a beautiful example of a stout and seaworthy downeast boat; its classic, timeless lines will never be out of style. Vessel particulars:- Heavily built hand laid solid fiberglass hull ( look at picture of under gunwhale and you will see how thick hull is !) - Westerbeke 82B 4 cylinder diesel engine with Hurth reverse gear.- 1.25" stainless shaft-fiberglass rudder. -approximately 50 gallon fiberglass fuel tank installed aft under gunwhale. Translucent vertical strip in tank easily references fuel tank level. - bronze hawse ports and deck drains- boat is completely self bailing- Whale Gusher manual bilge pump. This is the large black mechanism with the handle installed on the starboard side of the console down near the deck.- (2) oval deck hatches to access shaft and rudder areas- Racor fuel filter / water separator-Groco bronze raw water strainer- New PSS Dripless shaft seal ( Installed April 2014) - New 800 GPH Rule bilge pump with highly reliable Johnson Ultima ultrasonic float switch- group 27 deep cycle battery with switch-hydraulic steering- driveshaft vibration reducer similar to Evolution system. (In the pics you will see a stainless steel transverse structure in front of shaft with a bearing in it ) http://www.evolutionmarine.com/ This reduces / eliminates vibration from driveshaft and also allows forgiveness of engine / shaft alignment.- wet exhaust- fiberglass muffler ( boat is very quiet) - propeller inspection and clean out port ( you can clean prop and cut lines from prop from inside the boat while in water) -danforth anchor ( foredeck mounted) and 200 ft of 5/8" nylon 3 strand rode- Full bimini enclosure in excellent condition with over 6' of headroom. This is fairly new and in mint condition. - VHF - Color Garmin 478 GPS / chartplotter-navigation lights- fenders/ lines etc.- spray rails- 4 blade bronze prop ( reconditioned by H+H prop )-new LED deck and cabin lighting- new raw water impeller-new belts-new primary and secondary fuel filters- hull compounded and has excellent shine and gelcoat is original, except on transom due to an auxiliary bracket being removed. - Boat is estimated to weigh 5500#s +/- 500#'s. A valid MA title in my name will be transferred to new owner, along with Bill of Sale, upon transfer of funds in full. Serious interested parties only please. Any out of state or long distance interested parties, please feel free to instruct your qualified surveyor to inspect on your behalf. Contact me to arrange for same. I can assist in arranging for professional transport if needed. This vessel will turn heads in any harbor and would be over $100K to replace today. Call Farrins boat shop, or ANY reputable downeast boatbuilder and find out for yourself! The vessels bottom was stripped of nearly all old bottom paint in preparation to apply new bottom paint. The boat was bottom painted using Pettit multi season ablative paint on August 10th, 2014. There is no trailer included with the sale of the boat however a 2013 heavy duty ( 8400# carrying capacity) dual axle galvanized trailer is available for an additional $4200 WITH BOAT ONLY.

1973 Lyman Sportsman, I'm going to retire from diving, so the Reef Rat is up for sale. It's a great fishing and diving boat that I have used and enjoyed for the last 34 years. I have equipped it with a large custom made fish cooler that snuggles behind the engine box so as to make a large flat area covered with cushions. My divers often lay on it on the way back in. The top is convertible from the normal down position with side curtains into a bimini top for cool running and easy getting around when the weather is nice. It is modified somewhat from the factory configuration. I removed the teak rails from the sides since they got in the way of divers exiting the boat but still have them if a new owner wants them back on. A hatch has been added in the back deck to store dive gear in the transom. There is a wet/dry well in front of the engine compartment that is great for storage or holding lobster. There are dive tank racks along each side that hold 12 tanks. The cabin has lots of storage area and I have added hammock like slings for gear, life jackets, and equipment storage. This boat was professionally refinished in 2006 with repairs to the deck and liner and a complete paint job with the best PPG Concept Acrylic Urethane paint. It has been transported on a 1973 Float-On trailer since I bought it, so it has not had any barnacles or other issues with in-water storage. Launch and retrieval are quick and easy with this trailer. The engine was replaced twice in the time I have owned it with 2006 being the last time. It runs great and does not burn any oil. The transmission was replaced in 2009 when the oil cooler leaked and let salt water into the transmission. It comes equipped with a Lowrance HDS8 gen2 GPS Chartplotter and sounder combo with Structure Scan. It also has Teleflex SeaStar hydraulic steering with a Raymarine S1000 autopilot with remote controller. The AP interfaces with the GPS to run you right to the spot or back to the inlet. Bennett trim tabs keep it well trimmed. The VHF radio also has GPS for a backup. It's also a great boat for pulling water skiiers and wakeboarders and the dive platform with ladder makes for easy entry and exit both in the water and on the trailer. Boat Length 24'Beam 8'-11"Draft 2'-1" Engine: 350 CID (5.7L) Crusader inboard, carbureted, with mufflers Raw water cooled, 80 gal fuel capacity.Weight dry 4000 lbs 2 bilge pumps (fore and aft) dual batteries Trailer Length 27'2 Axles For high resolution photos, see my listing: http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/boa/5652915764.html
