This Mako is in good condition for the age. The Yamahas run great, the owner confirms. The T-top looks great, it does look like the wiring was redone recently, and overall, appears to be in good condition. I did not feel any soft spots. Mako was one of the pioneers of the center console boat, promoting them nationally. The 261B was one of Mako's more popular models for many years. It is a trailerable offshore Center Console fisherman, with a no-nonsense layout and has superb open-water handling characteristics. This 261B is powered by twin Yamaha 225 HP engines. The engines have 1159 hours on them. Enough to propel this 28-footer to top speed of just under 50 MPH and a comfortable, efficient cruising speed of 30 MPH. This Mako is a wonderful, solid vessel! Other than a few small nicks in the hull, everything looks great! 1976 Mako MAKO 23 ONE OF A KIND!!! This is a 1976 / 23' Mako Center Console by title. However, I have completed most of the updating of this boat. Then I added an Armstrong Motor Bracket to it. So while the title says it is a 23' Mako Hull that was manufactured in 1976... The hull is almost better than new. And the Armstrong Bracket makes the boat a true 25! This is a very solid boat with no soft spots. It does have a small cabin that has a head in it. The cabin is original, but looks very good. To be clear... This is still a project in the works. The new owner will have to add all the rigging and a motor. Once that is done, you will have a great fishing machine! I have priced this boat at a low price that only includes the hull. The trailer shown in the pictures is a shop trailer that is to big for the boat. It will hold up to a 28' Boat! The trailer also needs a lot of servicing to be long hual road worthy. 1960's Mako Shark by Slick Craft. RARE BOAT - Not restored. "As is" condition. Designed for a kid's use. Second owner - bought used in the 70's. Last ran 10 years ago using a remote fuel tank. As far as I know, engine and lower unit are in running condition. There is a main fuel tank under the front deck that needs to be cleaned out. Fiberglass hull is in good shape. There is a small hole in the fiberglass just below the engine access on the back from the steering linkage which does not effect the performance of the boat, it is strictly cosmetic which can be easily repaired. No trailer, no paperwork. This boat just needs TLC. Q: I have never come across this model of boat in the Slick Craft Boat Company literature. Do you have a photograph of the manufacturer's identification plate or hull number to verify the maker of this boat? Looking forward to your reply. Apr-29-15 A: We've owned this boat since 1977 (I was a kid; my dad bought it) . I don't know much about it other than it's called a Mako Shark. I researched it on the internet many times and could not find any information on it. I made a lot of calls, spoke to a lot of people, sent out pictures. I got the following info from a boat enthusiast: Mako Shark was a model of boat made by a company called Slick Craft. They were bought out by Evinrude. Evinrude made their own boats for a while out of fiberglass, later became part of Johnson, now called OMC. I cannot find any plates or plaques anywhere on the hull, inside or out, nor can I find any hull identification number. I'd love to get more information on this boat.
