OK, before I start the description of this great boat, let me explain a couple things: I know this is not prime boating season, but I figured I would just offer this boat for sale before I put it up for the winter and close up my summer residence. Please understand, the price of $5600 is FIRM! I thought about "playing the game" and asking $6800 to let people "beat me up", but I don't like games. This price represents selling the boat for $1500 less than I have in it. If I can't do that, I will be happy to just keep it. Also, please understand that a $500 NON REFUNDABLE down payment is due immediately, with balance of $5100 due in bank wire transfer or cash within 7 days of purchase. Please do NOT ask me to deviate from these terms. Just remember, when a nice item like this comes up (few and far between) there is no bad time to buy! Now that I've said that, let's get on with the boat: I am the second owner of this STUNNING 1973 Correct Craft Mustang 16ft speed boat. I bought it several years ago from the original owner on his 83rd birthday! This boat was kept in a heated basement garage when not actually in the water being used. It was always trailered to and from and NEVER sat overnight in the water or elements. Consequently, even at 41 years old, it looks better than many 3 or 4 year old boats I have seen! Gelcoat, chrome, interior, etc. all are bright and shiny! Just a few light marks as shown in photos on underside where boat has been on and off the trailer. Everything else is simply IMMACULATE! Gelcoat does not have any of the usual cracks or bubbles that you often see in older model boats. Upholstery is all original and still looks like new! Stringers, floor boards, and bilge are all original, extra clean, and not rotted like you often see. This Mustang is one of only a few that was factory special ordered with the potent HOLMAN & MOODY high performance Ford 302 V8. For those of you who are unaware, Holman & Moody, based out of Charlotte, NC did high performance Ford products in the same vein as Carroll Shelby. Boats with these engines are VERY RARE. Immaculate survivors like this are even rarer! Motor is all original, and looks and runs awesome! Velvet drive transmission also performs beautifully. Instruments and accessories all work. Original Correct Craft trailer is also in great shape with excellent tires, wheel bearings, bearing buddies, and working lights. Boat was trailered 500 miles recently with no issues. I also have a custom made full mooring cover that goes to the water line. It is only 2 years old, and is still excellent! Also, I have all books, papers, service receipts etc. for this boat since the day it was new! Also even have picture of original owner with boat the day it was new! Number 339 to roll out of the factory and it was made on 7-18-1966 built by some guy named Bill, it has been heavily modified for some reason (very modified motor, monrose controls, hydro trim tabs,4ft long 6 inch tall stainless runners on the bottom of the hull, small aluminum fuel cell, ect). Its amazing how well Donzi builds there boats, and how unique they are. On every one of those boats pre 1972 up under the deck in the bow of the boat there is a 12 by 12 sheet of fiber glass with hand written in sharpie specs of what day it was made what hull number and who made it. Mine shows c16-339, 7-18-66, Bill, all hand written by this bill guy who built the boat, I thought that was pretty cool took that they time to do that on each boat. 1966 donzi sweet 16 with a holman moody 351, now for the motor.......it has been modified beyond recognition, the guy said he had it dynoed just under 500hp at 7500 rpms. All I know about it is it has eldrbrock performe RPM high rise intake manifold, 650 holley carb, eldeborck cam, performer heads, roller rocker valve train, high comp pistons, and I believe it to still be the Holman Moody Block but I dont know. The interior is all new with factory correct vinyl minus the steering wheel which I have not replaced yet. Seats were done by Donzi marine restoration society and is showcased on their website. The hull is clean and has been recently repainted with original color scheme. There are two 4 ft long 5in tall aluminum fins on the bottom of the boat near the stern. Everything on the boat works great (motor/drive/electrical/hydros/ect) this boat is fast I have seen 60 and it sounds great. Trailer is included and has also been restored. All new wiring and LED lights, new wood bunks, felt wrap and rollers. All new tires and rims.
