Welcome to the world of NONSUCH sailing: If you are familiar with the uniqueness of the NONSUCH, please procede below, if not, please Google Cruising World .com for a full review and history of NONSUCH and why it is such an incredible boat. I tried to post the full link below but EBAY forced me to remove it. If you add a www in front of the link below and cut and paste it into google search, the article should come right up. cruisingworld.com/sailboats/boat-reviews/nonsuch-30-an-utterly-uncomplicated-cruiser Caution: The reason we have not placed this boat in the water is because we want any prospective buyer to be re-assured that the boat is just as perfect below the waterline as it is topside. You can run a moisture meter anywhere you want on "Sophisti-Kat" and you will find a boat as dry as it was the day it came from the factory. Beware of any boat being sold that is already in the water and make sure to have the owner place it on “The Hard” before making your purchase so you can make sure you are getting a sound boat. Many older boats are placed in the water when being sold to hide blisters and saturated fiberglass. Now let’s get started...........please review my feedback so you can be assured that you are buying from a provider with the utmost integrity. I pride myself on only selling excellent product that buyers will be proud of for years to come. This boat is my Father's boat, he is the original owner and the boat has always been in our family. Welcome to my auction for "Sophisti-Kat" a 1985 NONSUCH 30 ULTRA. This is a very highend limited production sailboat built by Hinterholler Yachts, Ontario, Canada and designed by Mark Ellis. While there may be other NONSUCH 30's for sale on the market, this boat is extremely unique for two specific reasons: 1) Most of these boats were heavily cruised or raced; "SOPHISTI-KAT" was never cruised and was never raced. She spent most of her life on her mooring and was used for light family sailing and barbeques. The pictures clearly demonstrate this. 2) The other reason that this boat is unique is because it was purchased and built to my father's specifications meaning it is the "ULTRA" layout, not the standard layout and was equipped for global travel even though it rarely left the mooring. This boat has the upgraded bullet proof Westerbeke engine, Here is a breakdown of the boat: Overall Dimensions LOA: 30.4 Feet Beam: 11.10 Draft: 5 Feet LWL: 28.9 Displacement: 11,500 Ballast: 4500 Bridge clearance: 53 feet Headroom: 6.3 feet. All through hull fittings have been replaced and upgraded to Bronze for safety purposes Life Sling "Man Overboard Rescue System" 50 Foot Shore Power Cord Freshwater water Capacity is 86 gallons Holding tank 24 gallons (Never Used) Accommodations Two cabins separated by a Teak folding Door. This has a Counter top, Mirror and storage area behind sliding Lucite doors. Under the counter is storage space plus three vertical Drawers. It has access to the shower and Head towards the starboard side prior to the folding Doors. The Main Cabin has access to this area on the other side of the Doors. The Shower Salon and Head Areas are separated by a Shower Curtain. There is a teak seat and storage area within the Shower Salon. The Head area contains a Counter that includes a Stainless Steel Sink. Under the sink is storage space and access to the Bronze thru hull fittings. Located above the Head and Counter is a Shelf with sliding Lucite Doors for Bath Room Items Main Cabin The Galley is L shaped, and located on the Port side with a large Counter top. A deep Stainless Steel Sink is supported with both Manual and Automatic systems to provide Water Access. Located below the Sink is a stowage locker to store, Cleaners and various other articles. Also provides access to Bronze thru Hole fittings, and pump for different water flow settings. Adjacent to Port are four vertical drawers to accommodate further Storage. Above this area, is where the Paloma Propane water heating system is located. It provides Hot water, thru out the vessel. This area also includes a Shelf with sliding Lucite Doors to store Wine Glasses and other Galley Items. Port to the sink is the cold storage area provided by the Seafrost Refrigeration System that eliminates the need to store ice. Above this area to Port is a large shelf behind Lucite sliding Doors. It provides enough room for Dishes, Cups, Glasses, Canned products and other various supplies for meals. Aft of the cold storage area is a Gimbaled Hiller Range Stove and Oven. Aft is a 6’6 Foot Settee and behind the support cushions are two storage areas. Under the Settee is the other water tank plus additional storage. Aft of the Settee is a Hanging Closet. Opposite on the Starboard side is a 6, 7 ft. L shaped settee and dinette set up. When the dining table is lowered the area converts to a double berth in the standing position the table is also used for Navigational purposes. The Espar heating System Thermostat is located upper left of Dining Area Bulkhead. Sail & Canvas Sail area is an incredible 540 Sq. feet, with two reefing points. Raising the Sail is simplified via the use of the Master Electronic Winch. In addition to Raising sail, all aspects of necessary sail adjustments, including, reefing are controlled within the Cockpit. When the Sail is lowered, it settles into Lazy Jack Lines. The Sail Cover is in good condition and the Mainsail was always covered and never exposed to the Sun or other elements. The Dodger is in excellent condition. It's custom made with openings to provide good airflow. In foul weather, it has Eisenglass inserts for full enclosure which have never been used. The matching Bimini is of special design. When not in use, it uses track and slides to disappear behind the aft Combing. Special designed Teak Boards cover the Cockpit Sole .The section behind the Helm is raised and curved to comfortably stand depending on point of Sail. The Helm has a compass and Teak Table. There are three lockers in the Cockpit, Port and Starboard, with easy access to the Engine, the third aft for two Propane tanks. Extra lines etc. The folding swim Ladder is located on the Stern. Entrance to Below Deck is via Lucite Companionway Doors. Inside, on the Upper Starboard side is the outlet for the Master Electronic Winch. Nearby, is a DC outlet to accommodate, charging cell phones or other appliances. Custom made Cockpit Cushions cover the entire seating area, when not in use; there are 6 floatable cushions available. Forward, the Vessel has a bowsprit with rollers to accommodate two anchors, A 35 lb. CQR and 30 lb. Danforth.... Additional Equipment .includes, Fairclough Winter Cover, Fire extinguishers, fenders, life jackets, Dock lines and extra lines. "Sophisti-Kat" is an incredible find and listed for thousands below here true value. I think you will be hard pressed to find another NONSUCH 30 ULTRA even remotely close to her condition and with her equipment. Please feel free to write with any questions as I will be happy to answer them "Sophisti-Kat" is also listed locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. She is pure hand-laid fiberglass with no core. Approximately 3/4 inch thick. Thicker at the keel and a bit thinner at the deck. She has never had a blister in her life and is a solid hull. Everything about her is built for simplicity, strength and cruising. Heavy stainless steel davits, indestructible windlass, super strong mast and rigging, new cruising 2 reef main and 1 reef mizzen, roller furling genoa and jib, oversized winches and wire rope halyard on the main, solar panels, gel batteries, center cockpit and designed by Sparkman and Stephens in their prime years. She is a solid boat. Interior has forward and aft cabins with private heads, lockers and drawers, a spacious galley and nav station with plenty of head room. She has plenty of storage space, relatively new refrigerator, central heat and air conditioning, water pressure system, has hookups for an electric/engine water heater and is set up for a generator, but I took the old generator out and use the space for a tool locker. (I don't really need a generator with the solar panels). I've lived and cruised on Krasna for 10 years and she has treated me well. I would like to find a good home for her. She is built for cruising, not for a weekend sailor. I just returned from three years in the Caribbean and my cruising grounds were from Maine to the Caribbean. Perkins 108 motor in great shape. She has a full enclosure for under way as well as custom awnings for the entire boat when you are anchored in the islands. CQR 45 with 85 feet of relatively new chain and about 200 feet of rode and the secondary anchor is Fortress with about 80' of chain and 150 feet of rode. She has an Alpha 3000 auto-pilot, an excellent low amperage, strong, dependable and simple auto pilot. The ram is new and is connected directly to the rudder.I am currently doing some prettying up on the boat, painting, touch up varnishing, fixing little things that I never got around to, but wives/girlfriends appreciate the little things, so I'm trying to make her pretty. She is in need of bottom paint and the bimini is old. So if you wanted to save some money and do the jobs yourself I would be open to discounting the price.I've kept her always in solid cruising shape. She is ready to sail to the islands tomorrow (excepting the bottom paint). I would love for her to go to someone who will cruise full time. $42000, 9046712772 Be sure: Get a boat history report|Finance this boat|Get an insurance quote|

This isn't just a flats boat it's a part of history This story will Impress all sailors : Saturday, August 13, 2011 Smallest Power Boat to Cross The Atlantic: Florida brothers set world record TAMPA, FL, USA -- Two brothers, Ralph Brown, 50, of Spring Hill, and Robert Brown, 51, of Merritt Island, managed to cross the Atlantic in a Suzuki powered 21' Flats Boat, that Ralph's company Dream Boats, Inc designed and built, from Tampa, Florida to the Limehouse Marina in downtown London - setting the new world record for the Smallest Power Boat to Cross The Atlantic.smallest power boat to cross the Atlantic The Guinness world record for the longest non-stop ocean voyage in a flats boat was 1,245.63 km (774 miles) and was set by Ralph and Robert Brown (USA) who traveled from St. Georges, Bermuda to New York Harbor, USA. The Brown brothers crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a 21'1'' powerboat, without a cabin or a keel. The previous world record was a 21'4'' powerboat that had both a cabin and a keel. There were two separate boats 21'4" that made the voyage, both were primarily designed for that voyage. Florida brothers did it in a stock FLATS Boat, no cabin, no keel drafting a lot less than a foot. "There were times we were afraid for our lives, but we never thought for once we wouldn't make it," Ralph Brown said. They survived being hit by an iceberg and massive waves from the remnants of hurricanes. They've seen glaciers, seals and even whales. They even mailed President Barack Obama a postcard from Greenland. Ralph and Robert started their adventure from Tampa, Florida, and continued up the US east coast to Canada, Greenland, Iceland and Scotland. They undertook the voyage to honor Robert's former Marine comrades who died in 1980 in a botched mission called Operation Eagle Claw, in which several branches of the military attempted to liberate the American Embassy in Iran after terrorists took the ambassador and his staff hostage. Their open fishing boat separates itself from other smaller boats that have made the crossing is that it does not have a cabin, a keel, a sail, or an escort and it had to carry its own fuel. This boat runs in less than an incredible four inches of water, including the motor. While experts said it was impossible to survive the 7000 plus miles of open ocean, the Brown brothers stepped off their tiny open fishing boat at 6:40 pm, London Time, Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Limehouse Marina in downtown London. The brother's remained completely exposed to the elements for the entire voyage and did not have a keel to right the boat if it were to flip. Ralph and Bob Brown survived being run over by an iceberg in Greenland, almost running out of fuel hundreds of miles from shore, refusing to be rescued three separate times, surviving massive waves from the remnants of two hurricanes, being slammed into rocks by gale force winds, running out of money and many other amazing events. Although the boat retained seaworthiness, some of the attached equipment has literally fallen apart from the impact of an estimated 140,000 slams during the crossing. Their final destination, some 8312 miles from Sarasota FL., was the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, near Frankfurt, Germany. The world record attempt was sponsored by Interstate Battery. The "I Am Second" voyage team attended a reception with the wounded heroes that have been evacuated from Iraq and Afghanistan. Details can be seen at: www.CrossTheAtlantic.com Bob is writing a book on the voyage and is almost done. This is not the first time Ralph and Robert Brown have set a World Record. In 2007, their 1400 mile adventure started from North Carolina to Bermuda and back to NYC. They were awarded the "Longest Non Stop Ocean Voyage in a Flats Boat" And more press reports. See below: The owner of a fledging Florida boat company and his brother hopscotched their way up the East Coast and across the Atlantic - an 8,312-mile odyssey - in a 21-foot center console power catamaran, hoping to raise money for military charities while drawing attention to his boat's seaworthiness. Ralph Brown, 50, owner of Dream Boats, in Hudson, Fla., and his brother Robert Brown, 52, of Merritt Island, Fla., got under way June 27 from Tampa in the Intruder 21, which Ralph Brown designed. The brothers took the cat up the East Coast to Canada, then across the Atlantic to Greenland, Iceland, England, France and Germany, where they arrived Sept. 10 (go to www.crosstheatlantic.com for details). The unescorted trip took 76 days. "[The boat's] limit was about 12-foot seas," says Ralph Brown. "Between the Shetland Islands and the Orkney Islands [off northern Scotland] we got into some breaking 12- to 15-foot waves with gale-force winds coming out of the north. We were headed southwest. We probably should have thrown the sea anchor, but we decided to keep at it." The Intruder is unsinkable, with foam injected into the hulls, says Brown. A single 140-hp Suzuki 4-stroke powered the cat for the trip, along with a 9.9-hp Suzuki kicker. Safety equipment included an EPIRB, two satellite phones, a VHF radio, life jackets, and survival suits. In addition to the boat's standard fuel tank, they strapped additional tanks to the deck and carried gas in portable containers. The 593-mile passage from Canada to Greenland was the longest leg. "We got stuck in 7- to 9-foot waves," says Brown. "We almost ran out of fuel and ended up throwing the sea anchor and waiting for the winds to shift out of the north." They finished the last 180 miles or so with the kicker "because it gets better fuel economy." The voyage, dubbed "I am Second - Wounded Hero Voyage," was made in honor of three of Ralph Brown's Marine Corps comrades who died in an ill-fated 1980 attempt to rescue American hostages in Iran. Brown was scheduled to deploy in the same mission, but his unit was never sent, he says. Brown, a former insurance salesman from Spring Hill, Fla., had no background in boatbuilding when he decided to delve into the marine business. After running hard aground during a 1999 fishing trip in a friend's 16-foot skiff, he was inspired to design a flats boat that could run in very shallow water. Tired of listening to him talk about building a boat, Brown's wife, Anne, issued an ultimatum: build it or shut up about it. The Intruder 21 is a catamaran flats boat with a full tunnel. The boat has about 2 feet of freeboard with a standard load, weighs 2,500 pounds, and comes with a standard 27-gallon fuel tank. With standard power - a 115-hp Suzuki 4-stroke and jack plate - sells for $26,400 (without T-top and trailer). The boat can take up to a 150-hp outboard. Brown has sold 17 Intruders. The latest trip was the second in this boat for the brothers. In 2007, they made a 774-mile passage from St. George, Bermuda, to New York Harbor to promote the Intruder 21 and help get Dream Boats off the ground. "We were trying to find investment capital rather than trying to sell boats," says Brown. "I did hope the trip would help me meet people who had the ability to make a large investment in our company." Then the economy took a nosedive. Brown is hopeful his company will endure because he believes in his boat. "I definitely think this model of flats boat is a great product," he says. "Let's face it, it runs extremely shallow, and it is seaworthy enough to cross the Atlantic, though I would not recommend [the voyage]." The voyage from Bermuda to New York trip is documented in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "longest non-stop ocean voyage in a flats boat." Robert Brown wrote a book about the adventure called "Bermuda Suicide Challenge." Reason for selling is to share their the record holder.

2000 Catalina 470 You'll realize you have arrived once you step aboard this beautiful Catalina 470 ready to set sail and take you anywhere.  Meticulously cared for by her owners "Kimberly Ann" is a very clean and well equipped yacht with all the necessities and plenty more for cruising and comfortably living aboard. Stored on the hard every winter, the bottom has been freshly painted each spring along with regular maintenance to keep her in top notch condition.  All records are available.  With Garmin chart plotters and radar, Raymarine Autohelm, dinghy with 9.9hp Yamaha outboard. 130% roller furling Genoa, and furling full battened main you'll find there is nothing to add before leaving the dock, behind the safety of the full dodger.  Much safety gear is also on board, with a man overboard recovery system, life raft, and a never used storm jib.   The interior is well appointed with a master cabin aft and guest cabin forward both with ensuite heads, spacious saloon great for entertaining and plush for relaxing with an expansive galley and nav station centrally located.  This yacht truly is a must see! And you'll be sure to catch more than a few looks out on the water with the gorgeous topsides recently painted with Awlgrip Allcraft 2000 Flag Blue. Statement from the owner:  This yacht has been a dream to sail and very comfortable at anchor or dock.  In the lightest of breezes to thirty knot winds, I found it to be extremely responsive, balanced and very manageable, with just my wife and I as crew. The cockpit always remained dry, even in the worst Chesapeake chop.   The full batten main is powerful, yet easy to manage with it’s two line Harken sail block reefing system, which is managed from the cockpit. The Harken powered winch and Dutchman flaking system make the full batten main very simple and quick business.   The first owner of the boat was a very experienced sailor who took very good care of her.  I’m the second owner and have only used professionals to maintain her to the highest standards that were offered.  During my ownership, she was dry docked each year and had the bottom serviced. At the dock or underway, we always receive compliments on her beauty.  It’s not uncommon to have other boats come up along side and take photos of her.  Life is too short to have an ugly boat!

Model ZUMA

This is a beautiful ZUMA sailboat with a Trailex 250-L aluminum trailer. The boat has large comfortable seating surfaces, a classy looking rudder and centerboard and a really nice reverse transom. This boat looks like a mini yacht being towed down the road. It is a Vanguard built boat, laid up by hand in Portsmouth, RI. It has only been sailed a couple dozen times, and has the original bright gelcoat finish. It has been covered or garaged for most of its life, and it shows. As the pictures taken in the last year or so attest, it looks wonderful. The ZUMA was made by the same folks who build the Laser; but the ZUMA, in my opinion, is much nicer to sail with two people than the Laser. It is a fun boat that is not quite as high in performance as the Laser, but is easier to set up, and requires, perhaps, less athleticism too. It has a zippered luff, so that the sail can be raised and lowered with a halyard; meaning the mast does not have to be lifted in and out every time with the sail already up like a Laser. It takes just minutes to set up, and requires little maintenance. It does move along quite nicely, too. Beginners can sail this boat; or folks like me, with over thirty years of sailing experience, can enjoy it too. The ZUMA is good for almost any age sailor. The boat only weighs 130 pounds and can be towed by most any car out there with a hitch. Be sure, of course, to check your particular car's owner manual. Trailer and all, the towing weight is only around 275 pounds; thanks, in part, to the compact and lightweight alluminum trailer. This boat looks like it is only a year or two old, and it comes with nifty extras. The NORTH sail is in wonderful, almost new, shape. But that's not all. I include a virtually new Neil Pryde sail too. Both sails are very nice looking; and you can change the look of the boat in minutes with just a sail change. It has a Harken tiller extension on a beautiful laminated tiller, and the single bulkhead port has been expanded to two, with storage bags in each port. The lines are all like new and bright in color. The traveler block set is upgraded to the one piece design from the Laser. This package includes a rudder cover and an APS centerboard storage bag. I will also include a HAWK wind indicator, and other little extras (tie-downs, etc.). The SILVA compass was standard on the ZUMA, and is, of course, included. The Trailex 250-L aluminum trailer supports the boat by the gunwales to avoid stress on the bottom. The tires (with galvanized rims) are less than two years old, and I will include a brand new spare with galvanized rim. The spare tire is not mounted on the trailer; but can be stowed in the trunk of a car or back of a truck. The trailer comes with rear LED lights, too! There is also a custom Sunbrella boat cover included. The cover, as might be expected, is the one thing that shows the most signs of wear. It has done its job of protecting the boat, though, and should continue to so so for quite some time to come. New covers should be readily available when this one needs replacing. Pictures tell a good story; but here is some additional information regarding the pictures provided here. The sailing pictures were taken in June of 2014 on the Intracoastal Waterway between Pensacola Beach and Navarre. Most pictures show the boat before the second port was added. Some ZUMA's came with one port, some came with two, for seemingly no rhyme or reason. The boat looks much more balanced with two, and it's handy for extra storage too. Storage bags for the ports are included. I also include two spare port storage bags. Also included is a small oar that can be stored inside the hull. The oar was sized to fit right through the port. An important note: The ZUMA logo on the top of the boat was removed earlier this year. I hated it, and thought the boat looked much more refined without it. I had no intention of selling it when it was removed a few months ago. I kept one of the vinyl letters so that it could be reasonably matched by a sign shop; if you were so inclined to put a logo back on. It looks (IMO) so much nicer now. The boat has some small crazing of the gelcoat here and there (like most any fiberglass boat), and there are a few scratches, but none of that detracts from the overall beauty of the boat. There is normal wear and tear and some rust on the leaf springs of the trailer, but overall it really looks like a year or two old boat and trailer package. You have to see it to appreciate it. The boat is in Tennessee, and if you are within driving distance, it awaits your inspection. I have always taken really good care of my boats. This boat was owned originally by a friend who worked in the sailboat business. He has always taken, perhaps, even better care of his boats than me. It is almost impossible to believe how good this boat looks for its age. Of course, nothing's perfect, but your friends may think it's a new boat. This boat could be a Christmas gift come true for someone wanting to mess about in small boats. New boats of this type start at prices of around 5,000; plus shipping and other costs. The aluminum Trailex trailer alone sells for about 1,100.00. A second ZUMA sail and other extras make this all even more worthwhile. This is truly a good deal. I have copies of the original point of sale literature that will be included with boat purchase; along with the rigging manual for the boat, and assembly manual for the Trailex trailer. I also have the title papers for both boat and trailer. Please email me with any and all questions. Local pickup only, please. You could have it shipped after you buy it; as it would be your boat, but to insure your satisfaction, I would definitely not recommend it. The boat is located about midway between Memphis and Nashville on I-40; with lots of good hotels nearby. I want you to see it, look at the gear, and be completely satisfied before you drive away. This Great Deal Going Off eBay on Thursday! ******** Special note to any would-be buyers living in or near Memphis: This thing would be absolutely perfect for the new, expanded, coming soon, Patriot Lake. What a great place! (well, it will be when they put the water back in next year) ********

This boat has shore powered A/C which is almost necessary in the summer months. If you are looking at 30 foot sailboats, make sure this one is on your list to see.
