Welcome to my auction for "Sophisti-Kat" a 1985 NONSUCH 30 ULTRA. This is a very highend limited production sailboat built by Hinterholler Yachts, Ontario, Canada and designed by Mark Ellis. While there may be other NONSUCH 30's for sale on the market, this boat is extremely unique for two specific reasons: 1) Most of these boats were heavily cruised or raced; "SOPHISTI-KAT" was never cruised and was never raced. She spent most of her life on her mooring and was used for light family sailing and barbeques. The pictures clearly demonstrate this. 2) The other reason that this boat is unique is because it was purchased and built to my father's specifications meaning it is the "ULTRA" layout, not the standard layout and was equipped for global travel even though it rarely left the mooring. Forward Cabin. . Double Berth to Port, with upper shelf for storage. Beneath the Berth is a large fresh Water Tank, with storage space that includes two small vertical Drawers A hanging closet is forward, between the Berth and Dresser area on the Starboard side. This has a Counter top, Mirror and storage area behind sliding Lucite doors. Under the counter is storage space plus three vertical Drawers. It has access to the shower and Head towards the starboard side prior to the folding Doors. The Main Cabin has access to this area on the other side of the Doors. The Shower Salon and Head Areas are separated by a Shower Curtain. There is a teak seat and storage area within the Shower Salon. The Head area contains a Counter that includes a Stainless Steel Sink. Under the sink is storage space and access to the Bronze thru hull fittings. Located above the Head and Counter is a Shelf with sliding Lucite Doors for Bath Room Items Main Cabin The Galley is L shaped, and located on the Port side with a large Counter top. A deep Stainless Steel Sink is supported with both Manual and Automatic systems to provide Water Access. Located below the Sink is a stowage locker to store, Cleaners and various other articles. Also provides access to Bronze thru Hole fittings, and pump for different water flow settings. Adjacent to Port are four vertical drawers to accommodate further Storage. Above this area, is where the Paloma Propane water heating system is located. It provides Hot water, thru out the vessel. This area also includes a Shelf with sliding Lucite Doors to store Wine Glasses and other Galley Items. Port to the sink is the cold storage area provided by the Seafrost Refrigeration System that eliminates the need to store ice. Above this area to Port is a large shelf behind Lucite sliding Doors. It provides enough room for Dishes, Cups, Glasses, Canned products and other various supplies for meals. Aft of the cold storage area is a Gimbaled Hiller Range Stove and Oven. Aft is a 6’6 Foot Settee and behind the support cushions are two storage areas. Under the Settee is the other water tank plus additional storage. Aft of the Settee is a Hanging Closet. Opposite on the Starboard side is a 6, 7 ft. L shaped settee and dinette set up. When the dining table is lowered the area converts to a double berth in the standing position the table is also used for Navigational purposes. The Espar heating System Thermostat is located upper left of Dining Area Bulkhead. Sail & Canvas Sail area is an incredible 540 Sq. feet, with two reefing points. Raising the Sail is simplified via the use of the Master Electronic Winch. In addition to Raising sail, all aspects of necessary sail adjustments, including, reefing are controlled within the Cockpit. When the Sail is lowered, it settles into Lazy Jack Lines. The Sail Cover is in good condition and the Mainsail was always covered and never exposed to the Sun or other elements. The Dodger is in excellent condition. It's custom made with openings to provide good airflow. In foul weather, it has Eisenglass inserts for full enclosure which have never been used. The matching Bimini is of special design. When not in use, it uses track and slides to disappear behind the aft Combing. Special designed Teak Boards cover the Cockpit Sole .The section behind the Helm is raised and curved to comfortably stand depending on point of Sail. The Helm has a compass and Teak Table. There are three lockers in the Cockpit, Port and Starboard, with easy access to the Engine, the third aft for two Propane tanks. Extra lines etc. The folding swim Ladder is located on the Stern. Entrance to Below Deck is via Lucite Companionway Doors. Inside, on the Upper Starboard side is the outlet for the Master Electronic Winch. Nearby, is a DC outlet to accommodate, charging cell phones or other appliances. Custom made Cockpit Cushions cover the entire seating area, when not in use; there are 6 floatable cushions available. Ok enough bragging so lets get down to some details,,I'm an engine builder by trade so i completely overhauled both 5.7 tbi injected engines/bored 030 over with the best of everything internally they both have about 50 hours on them, the outdrives are bravo III with dual props which i had reconditioned and balanced and is very smooth/gear lube in perfect condition/the exhaust manifolds and risers are mercruiser and are fairly new.I installed a northern lights 5kw 3 cylinder diesel generator which runs forever on a gallon of fuel i installed a 25 gallon fuel tank which can be filled through a deck plate. I installed a new high dollar 110v battery charger,I installed a new 12 gallon 110v hot water heater and also has new deka marine batteries.I installed a new jabsco fresh water pump, it has a halon fire system in engine room as well. Ok now lets get out of the engine room and onto above deck. The electronics are all raytheon and run in a network with each other, I just bought the new raytheon A7X gps with the new downVision transducer,the other electronics came with the boat which include,24 mile ratheon pathfinder 70rl w chart plot,depth sounder,icom vhf,ratheon loran/gps for back up/ new vhf ant,has marine tv ant,windlass,auto spotlight on bow new anchor and line and also new dock bumpers,has a nice live well with sink and lighted fish box on the stern. I just installed New Taco Outriggers and mounts. All of the canvas accessories are new including all the eisenglass it also encloses the entire deck and has screening to keep the bugs out All lights and switches work on this boat.Ok now inside the galley,, has a full head w vacuflush, hot and cold water shower and also has a shower station on the back deck,i installed a new nova kool ac/dc fridge/freezer i installed a new kenyon 110v/alcohol burner,i have a clarion am/fm/cd/with alpine amp system, it has central a/c and heat which has a new compressor, i just installed a new flat screen tv/dvd and mounted it on a wall.This boat needs absolutely nothing!as you can read and everything works all sytems are go! I am getting ready to take it to the keys for the summer in June.I have a 18000 triple axle rolls trailer in perfect shape w all new tires which is available for this boat if need be and is not included in the price of the boat.
