The seller states that everything is in good working condition to his knowledge - as noted previously the marine head has never been used in the year that he has owned the boat. He purchased it from an estate sale of a local sailor who passed after an illness. The family did not have any records or real working knowledge of the vessel. The seller has obtained an owner's manual for this vessel and has it in the desk area of the cabin (just under the VHF radio) as shown in the photos. The local representative took all the photos and video of the listing and they accurately reflect the current condition of the listing and its primary features. Looking for a Beneteau Oceanis 281 - this is a rare opportunity to find a well cared for Oceanis 281 that is in very good condition for her years. The well appointed and maintained 28 foot Beneteau is equipped with a Yanmar 18 hp Diesel engine and has Doyle mainsail and roller furl jib sails and is rigged for single sailor sailing. The running gear and lines were all replaced in 2023. The boat is equipped with the Benetenau raked stern and inverse transom that makes it easy to go for a swim on the lake and rentry is quick and easy via the drop down swim ladder and the pull up helm seat provides easy and quick access to the transom area. The aft cockpit has plenty of seating around the large stainless steel wheel that is equipped with navigation devices (large compass, speed and depth gauges). The hatch and sliding cover keep the cabin below warm and dry on a windy day, or you can open them up and enjoy the breeze with the vents in front of the main mast and the porthole windows on both sides of the cabin area. Down below the beautiful wood work has been well maintained and literally glows when you enter - the galley is equipped with a 2 burner alcohol stove, a sink and cold storage cabinet. The cabin is equipped with a Furion Stereo system and speakers throughout the vessel, a VHF radio and plenty of storage space through out the vessel. The head is on the starboard side and the entry into the aft cabin is on the port side. The Yanmar Diesel engine is beneath the compaionway steps and is easily accessed by releasing 3 quick locks and moving the steps aside. The engine battery is new in 2023 and the engine has been serviced in 2023. There is a second battery for house functions under the galley sink. The marine head has never been used by the current owner - and he does not know the capacity of the holding tank. Sail Inventory - Doyle Mainsail and Furling Jib Sail - sail bags are in the cabinet below the stove. All of the cushions and woodwork are in lovely condition above and below deck. This Beneteau 390 Oceanis has been well maintained over the years. The seller has enjoyed sailing her! Down below is clean with no odors. The boat could use a complete exterior and interior detail. There are a lot of items in the cabin that needs to be organized and stowed away. The bottom paint is overdue, the bottom may need to be cleaned before the boat can be moved. The running rigging is weathered, the standing rigging may need to be tuned. The seller states the sails are in useable condition. The interior woodwork needs refinishing. There are signs of water intrusion and wood damage The engine looked to have minimal corrosion, and was clean. The bilge was clean. The headliner in the aft cabin and head is missing or damaged. 1995 Oceanis 351 The Oceanis 351 was designed by Jean Berret and Phillipe Briand and produced by Beneteau between 1992 and 1997. Her sleek lines offer fast and efficient sailing and cruising, and her full-length galley and generous sized cabin are sure to prove popular amongst those seeking a genuine live-aboard cruiser for a longer trip. The Oceanis 351 was designed for blue water cruising and sailing speed, and her bulb keel cuts an easy passage through the waves. Despite more conservative estimates from her manufacturer, she easily reaches an impressive 7 knots in good winds and 10 knots when cruising. She shares her hull with the Beneteau First 35.7, and her maximum waterline length and wide beam make for excellent stability in all weathers. In rough seas and strong winds, the Oceanis 351 has a good solid feel, whether under sail or in port. The roller-furling main and genoa make for nice easy rigging and this is a yacht that makes for easy and safe light or short-handed sailing. The trademark balsa and fibreglass 'sandwich deck', also used on the Groupe Finot Oceanis, gives extra protection without weight. The downside of this light weight is that, when combined with a less powerful engine than some of the more recent Oceanis models, the Oceanis 351 performs less well in light winds. Below decks, the Oceanis 351 truly comes into her own as yacht that was made for long distance blue water cruising. The salon and galley offer full headroom (1.9m) and there are two equal size aft cabins and a forward owner's cabin, all of which are generously sized. The galley runs the whole length of the large, U-shaped salon, and even the cockpit is big enough to seat the whole crew (with an icebox under the table to keep everyone happy too). Light and ventilation below decks is also excellent, thanks to the four portholes in the hull and deck. On the whole the accommodation is well set out for longer distance sailing, with plenty of nice touches such as the window above the sink for your resident galley slave to admire the view and the large hanging lockers in the cabins. The Oceanis 351 makes an excellent choice if you are looking for a genuine ocean-going yacht that has enough accommodation and performance for a longer trip.
