This boat has lived in Lake Havasu for the past 15 years and before that in California. The boat has had inside storage for most all its life. It comes with Cockpit cover and full weather mooring cover with an extra swim step and Arneson's drive cover for the rear of the boat. She rests on a Torino 3 axle galvanized trailer with folding Tongue and will fit in 35-foot garage with the Tongue folded. The trailer is fitted with electric lock out for the disk surge brakes for backing up and the trailer has just had all tires replaced with a new full set. This is, as far as we know the only Seahawk on the west Stock #314939 This is a nostalgic go-fast boat in wonderful condition inside and out. Up for sale is a 31-foot Seahawk Offshore, powered by twin Paul Pfaff 575 HP naturally aspirated 510-inch BBC. with 125 hrs. on the starboard engine and 28 hrs. on the port engine. All work was done by Gordie at Pfaff Racing. (Engines run very strong) Propulsion by AN #6 Arneson surface Drives with stainless steel propellers. The boat has Velvet drive Trany's with full Latham hydraulic steering, K-Planes, Hydraulic Marine Machine trim and tab controls on the Drives and Trims. The dash is fitted with Lavorsi Monster gauges and Marine Machine Controls in the red color with a matching steering wheel. (This is the Hot Rod of Boats) ("Cool") Replaced items include - MSD 6M-2L Marine Ignition Boxes with Rev limiters - MSD Billet distributors with soft - Kill limiters and MSD caps, Rotors and wires on both engines - Marine batteries - Teaque sea strainers - Delco Marine starters and alternators - High GMP bilge pumps - Two Aero Motive fuel pumps with Pressure gauges - Newer full-side Vinal Wraps with the Seahawk logo on the sides of the boat for you Seahawk fans and it sports a fresh powder-coated swim step aft. She'll run just over 72 Mph in fresh water on the GPS. She was built for big swells, so she sports a heavy fiberglass lay-up. The interior is mostly original and nice for its age. It has nice Couch areas inside the cabin and a V-berth forward. A head with a locking door is also inside the cabin. Complete Refit in 2002! You are looking at a 1980 Coyote 38 Offshore Race Boat. This boat was built and designed by JC Simon (Jean Claude Simon). There is a brief explanation below about JC Simon and who we was in the offshore race industry. My understanding is that JC Simon designed this mold and used it for his company, Coyote Racing, and then sold the mold to Sonic Performance Boats. I understand that this mold became the Sonic 42 with the addition of the swim platform by Sonic. The original Coyote 38 did not have a swim platform on it. The swim platform you see on this boat was added to her in 2002 when the refit was completed. So now, this boat is actually 42 feet long. During that refit, new motors were installed. 2001 Mercruiser 8.1L HO 425hp each EFI's. These motor are in excellent condition. They start extremely easily every time and do not hesitate at all. During the 2002 refit, everything was replace in this boat including gauges, controls, upholstery, interior, paint, drives, props, and of course, new motors. I have had this boat out off the Miami coast in 4 to 5 foot seas doing about 50MPH. That was certainly not top speed, there was plenty of throttle left. But 50MPH was plenty fast for me in those seas. This is a true race boat. The hull is made of Kevlar. Very light weight and very strong. Built for speed and agility. The drives are Mercury #3SSM drives. I honestly don't know what that even means, but I was told they are expensive drives. Also, there is 2 sets of props. One was just refinished and trued as you can see in the pics below. The other spare set is mounted in the cabin on the boat. Also, I have a survey on this vessel dated June 1st, 2013. That survey shows the current value of this vessel to be $63,500. It was completed by Performance Marine Surveyors, Inc. in Boca Raton, FL. Miami International Boat Show with Bobby Unser February introduced 46 Cougar raceboat. Steve was a late driver change and replaced Dave Bell who had undergone open heart surgery the previous day. They were also on board when the Sun Coast to Gold Coast record (originally established by Kyle Petty) was broken in 1998. That record would be a precursor to the Miami to Nassau to Miami record run which is documented in this video. On Monday morning June 15 1998 the crew of Harry Allen throttle man Steve Kildahl driver Kevin Brown navigator and Rich Quandt crew chief left the Marriot Miami Marina and headed out Government Cut (MacArthur Causeway) to set three new American Power Boat Association world records. Dave Bell Great Lakes Executive Vice President was in the drivers seat with Harry at the throttles Rich Quandt crew chief and navigator and Eric Lavine as the onboard technician. Bob Hallengren of Caterpillar and Bobby Chan of Ringhaver provided valuable assistance in preparing standard production engines for their extended duty. 1998 Spirit of America set 2 world records Tampa to Miami and Miami-Nassau-Miami in May and June. John Cosker Conner Marine and John Pompi Marine Performance were also key participants in the vessel design construction and upfit. the Spirit of America project was a culmination of Harry’s long time interest in offshore power boat racing which started with Cummin’s Engine Company in 1965 along with his dream of piloting the fastest boat from Miami to Nassau and back.
