Miami International Boat Show with Bobby Unser February introduced 46 Cougar raceboat. Steve was a late driver change and replaced Dave Bell who had undergone open heart surgery the previous day. They were also on board when the Sun Coast to Gold Coast record (originally established by Kyle Petty) was broken in 1998. That record would be a precursor to the Miami to Nassau to Miami record run which is documented in this video. On Monday morning June 15 1998 the crew of Harry Allen throttle man Steve Kildahl driver Kevin Brown navigator and Rich Quandt crew chief left the Marriot Miami Marina and headed out Government Cut (MacArthur Causeway) to set three new American Power Boat Association world records. Dave Bell Great Lakes Executive Vice President was in the drivers seat with Harry at the throttles Rich Quandt crew chief and navigator and Eric Lavine as the onboard technician. The above item for sale is a 1981 Wellcraft Scarab 377 offshore boat. I have been the owner of this gem for a the last 4-5 years. When I purchased it I had the engines completely rebuilt. I tuned it down to get better gas mileage and recently put new propellers on it giving it great control and power. I put a 4-blade Bravo 1 prop on both the drives this summer. With this combination you don't have to use the tabs to control the boat. One trim tab needs repair. That is why the picture shows it tied. I tore out the inside of the hull to start revamping the inside. So the inside will be a project for someone. I was planning to make everything wireless. Just got to many projects going so I don't have time to finish. The stern drives are TRS drives. The engines are 454 engines with 370 horse power each. They are offset and have just been winterized. I just took these pictures before putting her away for the season. The boat comes with a 1981 Continental 3-axle trailer. Tires are in good shape since I didn't use it much. well maintained checkmate convincer 25' with eagle trailer trailer has new bearings and seals will tow anywhere Boat is in great condition nice interior vinyl in good condition garage kept no mold in cabin very dry boat nice solid boat only 200 total hrs on package has had very little use over the years has gps, stereo, offshore controls, stand up bolsters boat handles rough stuff runs perfect it has new u joints and gimble bearing only issue is needs new trim gauge and will need an engine coupler soon teeth are starting to wear and there is a slight chatter when running on the hose and idling with no load on it.Hull shines like new but has 2 small dings in swim patform you can not hear it in the water and can only hear it sometimes on the hose, my mechanics says it has another season or 2 in it just keep it greased, coupler job costs 12 to 15 hundred so I have discounted the price substantially. I have tried to be as honest as possible in describing the boat it is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early

Its not the fastest offshore at 64 or 65 mph in fresh water but it always gets there. The boat has been rack stored all of its life until my purchase of it. Was used on Lake Erie in Ohio and has only 326 hours since new. The boat had a complete mechanical over haul in last 20 hours engines and outdrives were refreshed by Art Sommers Marine in Mich. Runs perfect. Interior is all original as are the gauges, paint, gel coat. and it shines like it came out of the factory yesterday as it has always been undercover since new. The trailer was purchased in Fla. brand new from All American in 2011 and only has around 3000 miles or less since new and shows. I can help ship this boat where ever for the cost of broker fees of importing to USA of $450.00. Fuel, Food Motels and something for my time right to your front door. Or can take it to port for shipping overseas It truly is a nice piece that any picky person would be happy with. Not brand new but super shape for 20+ year old boat.
