This 1993 Rodriguez 78-foot Shrimp boat, constructed in Bayou la Batre, Alabama is ready to hit the deep water. It is fueled by a Caterpillar 3412 540 horsepower diesel inboard motor. The steel hull is solid as it can be. At seventy-eight feet, it has the length your crew would want in a shrimp rigger. It has two cabins, one with two bunk beds and one captain's suite. The bridge has many updated instruments for your navigation needs. The trawling nets are in great condition and as stated ready to go. The trawlers are in very good shape as is the deck gear. Reason for selling is just getting out of the shrimp business.

The boat looks to be in useable condition. The boat is 45 years old, so buyers should not expect a shiny, perfect boat. The boat has a commercial grade finish, which is made to last. There are some areas of rust, gel coat cracks, and wood rot, however nothing that appeared to be a major issue. There is growth on the bottom, indicating new anti-fouling paint should be applied. Gents, this is a used 1970 (or so) aluminum fishing boat with a trailer and motor! It all works as it should the motor has a new clutch dog and forward gear and runs like a tank. The boat has some wear on it, but with this motor is a rocket on the water. The trailer is a home made, gets the job done locally but would not take it on a long trip without a through go over. The whole rig needs to be registered. I got it from an estate sale and they could not find the paper work. Have fun, it's ready for the water. If you are local and want a demo, let me know.
