1965 Lyman 19 ft Runabout The restoration of a 50 year old runabout "Pelican" started life in Ohio on Lake Erie at the Layman Boat Works in 1965 Layman are known for their lovely lines, steadiness in the water and quality construction. The company started in Cleveland, Ohio in 1875, then moved to Sandusky, Ohio. Those Clinker-built mahogany lapstrake hulls are unmistakeable. They produced runabouts under 25 feet. "Pelican" went to upstate New York and spent summers on many lakes including Lake Niagra and Chautauqua Lake and the Niagra River. Sadly, her owner passed on and she was eventually donated to a local benefits auction, Bought sight unseen by a boater in Los Angeles, she was towed to Florida and then trailered to inland Los Angeles. After sitting in a dry garage for a couple of years, she was put up for sale not having been in water since she left New York. The owner sent Phil DuPre the shipwright, up to Las Angeles to inspect and survey the Boat. Phil returned with a positive report and shortly there after Phil went back to LA to tow her down to San Diego. She arrived on September 11th 2012

1996 East Bay Boat Works Custom, One of a kind 1996 Custom Built 40 Mahogany Planked Cold Molded BoatBuilt in 1996. Ricky Gillikin at Eastbay Boats Works in S.C. completed the original and signed off on the paper work. It came to Tarpon Springs FL. In 1999 and was restored by Scottys Marine. I purchased the boat in 2003 and saw it through to completion. Scotty at Scottys Marine came with very high recommendations from boating experts. The boat was completely rebuilt throughout. In 2000, I installed the last pair of 1999 671s Detroit 485hp turbo engines. From there, the boat was completely rewired and all new systems were installed (generator, air-condition, toilet, holding tank, all mechanical). Boat was painted and a new custom tower and teak wood were installed. All work was completed in July 2006.The boat has been at The Pelican Yacht Club for the last 8 years, and has been professionally maintained. In 2014, new turbos along with fuel injectors were installed. It also went through a complete inspection and both heat exchangers were cleaned.Boat has a Furuno Electronics 12kw radar, autopilot, Satellite TV, and engine room camera.Boat has roughly 450hrs and generator around 500hrs, and hour meters are original. In June 2016, the boat was restored and updated with new paint inside and out. The bottom was stripped and resealed along with new custom bottom paint. The work was completed by John Dunkin, at Crackerboy. New batteries and charger were installed and the oil and transmission coolers were replaced. The boat is in excellent condition and the ride is incredible.I am asking $309,000 and feel it is priced aggressively for a quick sale. I am selling the boat due to my kids have grown up and live too far away to enjoy it with me. It is just too big of a boat for my wife and I to manage. You can reach me, Greg Gordon, at (912) 571-1305. $279,000

Herreshoff Class “B” Frostbite Sailing Dinghy Up for consideration is a classic Herreshoff Class “B” Frostbite Sailing Dinghy complete with rigging, centerboard, rudder and sail. As a result of a pending move, the starting price is set below average to encourage bidding. These little boats were built with the same painstaking workmanship that was employed in the production of the largest Herreshoff-built yachts. Length overall: 11' 5" Extreme beam: 4’ 6” Planking of lapstrake cedar. Transom, sheer strake, thwart stringers, clamps, centerboard and rudder of finest, selected Honduras Mahogany. No wood rot. All fastenings of copper and bronze and all fittings bronze and stainless steel. For structural integrity, the hull has a coating of epoxy resin/ 4 oz. cloth over the cedar planks and Mahagony transom. I am not sure of when the boat was built. (Ebay has a rigid format, and requires that a built date be posted.) My wife and I have been the owners for over 40 years. Overall, the boat and sail are in very good condition. Please note that the existing sail plan is not as depicted in the first two images in the listing. The sail design shape is the same, however, a track attaches the sail to the mast and boom. The mast is secured with two side stays and a fore stay. The present sail is from a pelican class boat (perfect fit and shape). Very fast and fun boat ready to sail. During the off season, it could use a little varnish/paint freshening in some of the interior areas, and a coating of linseed oil and turpentine mixture on the natural wood surfaces. NO significant repairs needed. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. A local inspection prior to sale is welcomed and encouraged. Please only serious bidders. You must contact me if you want to bid with anything less than 10 positive feedbacks or if you have any negative feedback.
